A Mostly Renegades and Heretics blog.
GW:"Space marines got too many options to balance, therefore we decided to legends HH units."
Players: "why?!? Now we finally got decent plastic kits and you cut them?"
Chaos marines players: "Since when are Daemonengines 30k models and why do i have NO droppods now?"
GW" MONEY.... erm i meant TOO MANY OPTIONS (to resell your army to you again by disalowing former units)! Do you want specific tyranid fighiting Primaris? Even a new sabotage lieutnant!"
Chaos players: Guess i stop playing or go to HH. |

Well, I managed to get the predator and vindicator completed!
Might have gone a little heavy with the mud on the plows but I am pretty happy with how they turned out.
Only 5 marines and 10 termies to go and the project will be complete!

Thanks,

The IW scheme really makes those old-school vehicles look their best.
Great job!

Each one would look good on its own, but all together they are just plain awesome. The heavier panels on the Vindicator are so perfect for that sweet hazard striping.

Just hit exalt (apparently again!) I'm not surprised I already exalted this thread.
Seriously though every time I see these I'm just a happy guy. You're making the world better with these classic clean minis in a real and meaningful way.

Thanks dude! Glad I took the suggestion to make the hazards all go the same way.

I didn't think I'd have this much fun with it, but now i am thinking of eventually doing another old skool project.

This is some excellent old school stuff going on here. I actually like the look of the dirty bulldozer blades. I think it looks quite good. I think the only reason the dirt may look heavy is because the rest of the tank is so clean. Might need to get those guys a little dirty as well!
You have some really great stuff here. Keep it up.

Finished the last 5 chaos marines! I am so happy to be finished with the basic infantry.
Here's an army shot, haven't done one in a while. Really pleased with how it shaped up so far.
And here they are, the last 10 models to complete the army. This has been a fun project, but I will be very satisfied once it is over.
Wish me luck!

Sad times, where are we going to get our goblin green fix now? Seriously though, that’s one awesome looking army! The terminators should round it off nicely. Now to find your other plogs

Terminators are finished! Wow, what a squad to work through.
All that remains are the decals, have to wait on a few more to come in the mail. Once those are done I can finally get them on the battlefield.
See ya in a few weeks once I get the final touches on them

Sweet Terminators, my brother was obsessed with these back in the day! He’d be well jealous! The red on their power weapons is really nice, what colours did you use?

Appreciate it, I've actually thought about getting a copy of the 2nd Ed Codex to display with them.

Thanks, I quite like how the turned out as well. I used Khorne Red as a base, carroburg crimson shade, mephiston red highlights, and then a drybrush of Jokaero Orange and another drybrush of Averland Sunset.

The Iron Warriors are complete! It's been a fun six months, but I am happy to be done!
First up is the full army shot!
Everybody got the original decals, not bad for being 20 years old! (I had some real problems with these, some of the decals were breaking apart from old age!)
Action shot of a predator with an infantry escort.
The Chaos Lord leads his terminator bodyguard and some deranged dreadnoughts into a breach in the enemies lines.
Heavy guns blast the enemy apart.
A sorcerer accompanies some infantry in an assault.
And the angry egg (aka Chaos Squat Warpsmith) leading his Chaos Androids into battle.
Thanks for all the kind words throughout the project, it really helped keep me motivated!
