Ok folks, I have a ton of old Dust Tactics troops I would like to make use of (mostly allied, selling off the axis)
I enjoy doing conversions, and after looking at the miniatures it is really the heads and some guns that sort of date them/make them weird war 2 rather than straight sci Fi. The heads and faces and some weapons are also unsatisfactorily soft.
So here is the question:
Which Wargames Atlantic kit has heads that will give me the best sci fi looking troops? (I'm putting WGA heads onto dust bodies).
Raumjager gas mask heads? Cannon fodder fully enclosed heads?
Ideally there would also be heads left to still get some use out of the WGA kit as well.
I'm not really interested in heads that stray too far into historically historicals (so no grognards)

Probably the Cannon Fodder, although it depends on your tastes. There are not enough fully-enclosed helmets for the Raumsjagers in the kit, let alone for your Dust minis. The Eisenkern all have that specific “Star Wars Wehrmacht” look to them, Grognards are Grognards, and the Einharjar heads likely won’t look quite right.

Those are probably the best bets from the WGA lineup with the cannon fodder having the edge in my opinion,
but worth having a look at the eisenkern as they've got a decent selection of heads too
(and also the stargrave troopers from northstar https://www.northstarfigures.com/prod.php?prod=15452)

Won’t Stargrave heads look huge on Dust minis? Mantic GCPS would probably work, though, as well as any of the few spare heads from an Antares Algoryn set.

Thanks all. Sounds like Cannon Fodder might be the way to go.
Anybody have any pics of the enclosed helmets on models? I'm interested in what the back of the head looks like.
Not having much luck online. Automatically Appended Next Post: BobtheInquisitor wrote:Won’t Stargrave heads look huge on Dust minis? Mantic GCPS would probably work, though, as well as any of the few spare heads from an Antares Algoryn set.
Dust minis are pretty large. I do like the GCPS heads... Hadn't considered those.

At 14:50, the guy is showing one of the minis assembled with an enclosed helmet, should give a very good close-up of how they look from several angles.

Preview of the Cannon Fodder 2 sprue layout.
https://wargamesatlantic.com/blogs/news/cannon-fodder-2-in-tooling
Compatible with Cannon Fodder the First so I'll hold off building some of the 90 figures I picked up when they were released.
I'm now looking forward to my Death Fields accessory sprues and laying down some coin for the Bulldogs.

I've built ten of my Cannon Fodder. Five have Victoria Miniatures close combat arms and are "Ruffians" for Stargrave. Two were built with rifles and the included helmets and will be painted as the Bond minions from Diamonds are Forever (medium blue with red hardhats). Three have been built with a mix of Stargrave arms and Mad Robot Minis air tanks for the Space 1999 tribute figures. When the female Cannon Fodder are released, two more of them can join the Space 1999 crew.
Ironically, I bought brodie helmets with gas masks from Mad Robot Minis for use with the male cannon fodder, but with the "bulldogs" on the way, I'd prefer to make the trench raiders with pseudo-British battledress instead. Not a problem, the heads can be used elsewhere at some point.

Conquistadors and Aztecs are shipping! Got my shipping notice today.
Also next week is the 3rd year birthday so 5 new sets are going on pre-order.
"As we come up on this milestone (which is actually next Friday March 25th), we want to celebrate with all of you!
1. We're going to be running some contests to give away free plastic next week. We'll tell you how to enter Monday!
2. We're going to put a new set on pre-order EVERY DAY next week (Monday-Friday) That's five new sets.
3. And of course we're going to show off some new sets we're working on. "

We know goblin wolf riders are coming, but that boy be so chonkers he might be a werewolf? That fur doesn't look to be physically castable on a HIPS tool to be honest. The left one, yea, sci-fi or high fantasy mount. Looks creepy.

Miniature Market has them in stock: I ordered 2 of them during the $3.14 shipping sale on Pi day. They had 20+ at the time, they are now down to 4. So there are people interested.
[The Bond minions in The Spy Who Loved Me wore orange jumpsuits and carried SMGs. Instead of hard hats, they wore black berets. I do have the beret heads, just needed the SMGs.]
