Interested in the Necron. Though it’d be ages before we saw Xenos in this range.

Im surprised that theyre being made through MacFarlane. Did they have a falling out with Bandai or is this "all part of the plan"?

The second part. They're 2 different styles of figure, Bandai doing collector's market display figures and McFarlane doing cheaper mass market ones.

Funny, I like it much more than Bandai one. Not only dumb chest shield was moved to pauldron, but the pistol and sword actually look kind of truescale unlike usual stupid heroic size gun on Bandai figure (and most of GW art, TBH). Finally someone looked at the nice artwork with more realistically proportioned weapons and decided to fix it with proper look, not the bricks that ruin most GW stuff. Kudos

I really hope the actual miniatures don't have groove for the chest shield in Aquila...

Yes for the first time we see something done in a far more appropriate scale. It's a pet peeve to see amazing cosplay only for it to be ruined by brick sized bolt pistols with 2" muzzles...

I actually wish they'd resize the weapons on the models to be more realistic. Shuriken pistols are as long as the arm carrying them...

your mind

I like the oversized guns and boots and shoulder pads and the whole charicaturish elements of the heroic scale.

In the cosplay too.

Why collect another GI Joe, and why want to pretend to be one when the galaxy is the limit?

In fact, I came to dakka just now as I saw these pics:
Spoiler:

I expect that this model will make airbrush enthusiasts very happy.

The flaw that stands out is the weak left knee articulation.

The oversized guns have always been a 40k thing. They look ridiculous in my opinion. Space marines always look far better without a Bolter as the gun overshadows everything.
I doubt GW is going to change them but I wish they would.

I’m tempted to buy the unpainted marine and leave it as grey plastic. That way it’ll be more representative of the majority of my minis

Trying out other weapons while I work on my autocannon. Those old 12" GI Joe guns are perfect in scale and fit in the hand no problem.

BigBadToyStore has the McFarlane figures up for pre-order with a Q4 release estimate. Artist's Proof(DiY) Marine is the case's chase figure.

That seems like quite a large price difference. $19.99 compared to £23.99 - it works out at nearly a 50% price increase (£23.99 is about $30, $19.99 would be about £15). I get that Mcfarlane is a US company but it's still quite a bit disappointing to see that.

This is frakking hilarious

You could buy a 10-man squad of the 7" figures for the cost of the of the 28mm hero figures.

That's a bad example. The Space Marine heroes stuff are individual, blind boxes priced at something like $10-$15 a pop...and that's a whole case of 24 boxes.

It’s a case of 24 of the blind-bagged gachapon ‘heroes’, not a single squad box of ten.

IDtoys tend to do a lot of imports, and whilst they’re not rip off merchants over it (they don’t add an additional premium just because import) the additional cost is ultimately passed on to us as consumers.

Are these definitely imports? I dunno to be honest. But it’s not uncommon to find us in the U.K. paying more than peeps in the USA. One need only look at MTG as a (very) rough comparison.

Ikoria, the latest set for MTG. Booster Box (sealed). $94.99 USA, £99.99 U.K (note Element states a non-discount price of £143)

What’s that, a company in one country charging people in other countries more just because it can? Say it ain’t so!

I wonder what happened to releasing the Mcfarlane painted Intercessor? He was supposed to be the initial release, now it's the sergeant and an unpainted Intercessor.

I like the look of the Mcfarlane figures and the price is certainly right. Though, something feels off about the Mcfarlane helmet. I think it's too flat in the face or something. That aside, I haven't purchased a Mcfarlane toy in a long time. How's their quality these days?

It's kind of funny. Most GW products cost a lot more in the US than the Uk (and its much worse in other countries, like Australia). For once, a GW themed product is cheaper in the US

And the fact that a single, blind box gashapon costs half to three quarters the price of a 7'' McFarlane action figure doesn't strike you as a little odd?

For reference, gachas usually cost anywhere from 100 to 500 yen.

Why/how does the grenade launcher have a narrower bore and thicker barrel wall than the actual rifle?
I mean yeah maybe that bit’s a muzzle brake but the GL muzzle should look more like that…
