I had to give it up for Madock.
The bust by DV8 was beautiful.
But the dog solider is awesome and really a big fan of the fading and the flesh work.
High standards all around as usual

Modock - thanks for the pic of your photo set up. Your pictures are always as crisp as your paintjobs so its nice to see how you do it!
Feltmonkey - They were my first attempt at hazard stripes. I felt like i needed to get some in somewhere and those pincers seemed like as good a place as any!
Tyranid Horde - The skin was P3 Thrall Flesh which i thought was pretty appropriate.
Bellerophon - Dark and grimy is what i was going for. Although i don't know if thats down to the paintjob or the crappy phone pics.

Glad everyone’s liking the bases; it surprises me that I couldn’t find examples of anyone doing similar. It’s effectively using a Duncan’s method (I tweaked it slightly), but with the number, spacing and angle of the lines done to match the tiles.
Very high quality of entries all round this month, good job everyone!

Gotta say excellent entries from you guys, the competition is tight as ever. Big thanks for the kind words and for taking the time to write all those comments.

Thanks and really no problem!
Quick, off to comments:
Queen_annes_revenge - good job on the seamless conversion. The red is very smooth and it has a nice rich tone. Also the base is nicely done...actually I fancy all of your work on the basing.
Bellerophon - excellent edge highlights it must have taken quite a lot of time on such a big model. The freehand is chrisp and clean.
DV8 - stunning work mate. The freehand is amazing, subtle cloth texture is convincing and the flowers are pretty awesome as well. The tones for the metal parts and skin are just perfect.
Chris56 - very cute little buggers. Nice rust effect on the armor and the skin tone is great as well.
feltmonkey - one of my favourite entries. I really like the realistic look, the suble weathering, the small scratches, dusty feet (did you use dry pigments?) . It's not an easy task to make
such a model interesting, but you did it! Also the photos are top notch.
ZergSmasher - I dig the subdued color scheme. The soft weathering works very well. The model itself is one of my favourite from GW...I need to man up and paint mine...
Jadenim - these look great, the purple shadows are extremely smooth. Neat idea with the bases.
Paradigm - your painting style makes this model look bad ass, it suits perfectly.
Midget Gems - stellar conversion MG, ingeniously funny.
Maharg - disturbing but I like it. Good job with skin tone.
DanceofSlaanesh - very crisp and distinctive painting style. The clean blends on the armor and weapon make this an awesome entry.
Ence again thank you guys for the votes and comments.
That's it from me and see you in the wild.

Great entries, everyone, and thank you for the lovely comments! It's always a pleasure to see what everyone produces for the theme.
My votes:
Chris56: I love the cleanliness of the conversion and the different textures of the face (lips and ears particularily), but I think what immediately sold me on this piece was the subtle verdigris all over the armor. Well done!
DanceofSlaanesh: Oh yea baby! That NMM scepter is hot, and definitely punchier with the contrast between the different panels (although I think you could push the contrast a little further and add more hot spots and pings, especially on edges and points). The rest of the model is alright too, I suppose
Modock: Another clean entry with lovely natural colors. My only gripe with this is how you've highlighted and shaded the muscle forms; it's almost like armor plates rather than a network of muscles that form one shape. But I can understand if this is a style of yours, rather than any sort of realism.

Some great entries as always!
Thanks for the votes and nice comments.
I loved a lot this month and voted a couple of days ago but only just got some time to comment
I voted for:
DV8- this bust is great - great sculpt, great colours and textures and of course, great execution. I love the different set of skills needed for a bust and I'm really glad to see more of them being entered;
Modock - awesome contrast and blending as always. I always look forward to your work;
feltmonkey - this is probably my favourite of your Star Wars stuff (aside from Darth a while back) - inspired me to buy some more Bandai models;
Power Elephant - I loved the atmosphere of this diorama. It is simple but really effective, this is one of my favourite scenes in quite a while - really inspiring.
See you all soon in Wild World!

Congrats! As I always say, everyone who completed and entered something in should be proud of completing a fig and pushing their skills more! At the very least, it's 1 less unfinished model they own!
