Or not, since we're getting plastic versions of the Stinger, Wasp and Valkyrie thanks to the Clan Invasion Kickstarter (which also covers several other Unseen 'mechs).

Or it will because there are plenty of people who'd rather use the classic imagery of the "Unseen" mechs. Plenty of people are using the Robotech Tactics minis for Battletech, etc.

I certainly am, but FFS there's a lot of room for the new pieces even amongst us that love the Unseens! The Warhammer, Longbow, Rifleman, Archer are spot fuggin on perfect matches, but the Wasp and Stinger are WAY too big, in Macross theyr'e a lot taller than the Destroids. So for all of the models mPalladioum released, 4 are perfect and no other model will ever be more perfect.

That leaves a WHOLE lot of models to be fulfilled...

Personally, I don't care much about Macross, I want some Invid and Alphas and Betas and VHT Hovertanks and Bioroids. Macross is popular, but the sub-robotech stuff really needs some avenging angels to bring it to life

If this had come first, I'd probably be all over it.

But, instead feth Palladium, Harmony Gold and anyone that would associate themselves with those thieves.

It never ends well

No. That one went over like the Hindenburg...

At Games Workshop, we believe that how you behave does matter. We believe this so strongly that we have written it down in the Games Workshop Book. There is a section in the book where we talk about the values we expect all staff to demonstrate in their working lives. These values are Lawyers, Guns and Money.

Guilty as charged.

Turns out that only a handful of the models were suitable. I overdid it and have about 8 Rifleman, Warhammer, Longbow and Archer minis (only built one of each, to date!) and 64,000 other things.

The Valks and Glaug are the wrong size for their BT equivalents, whilst the Super and Armoured Valks would have been fine for size...

I would have been glued to these releases for Phoenix Hawk and Crusader minis, but being as the new Battletech KS is running, I'm very happy with the BT redesigns so feel very little drive to get these new Robotech minis.

Maybe, I'll eventually get some to fill in the Wave 2 missing minis - I have a toddler that loves robots (I've been setting the foundations ) so maybe by the time he's older RRPGT games might be on the cards.

Again, having actually played it, it’s a fun game.

Kevin Siembieda fethed up badly when it came to handling the RRT KS. But that obviously doesn’t make the rules for RRT bad.

Siembieda and Palladium deserve a gak reputation. But if you’re going to talk about RRT as a rule set, that’s a separate topic.

Well I found the right place now . Thanks warboss. Yes I order some of the Valk V-J to me Rick ver of the mini we didn't get from RTT KS. I stated this on facebook that I have feeling that they going do all minis that didn't get done by RTT KS like the WAVE 2 minis. The next preorder is the Female Power Armor . So we 'll see what come of it.

Well Minitech have their 2nd wave which is FPA ,MPA and Armor Valk. The price to me don't look to bad. FPA is $12.00. MPA is $11.00. Armor Valk is $11.00. Now I think I can't judge on these minis until I get them to see how they compare to the PB produce Robotech Tactics RPG minis. Until then let see what esle is done.

The figs look nice. For those wondering, they're apparently monopose or limited pose resin minis at 1/285 scale. They're licensed from HG despite the Japanese/Macross nomenclature so I'll pass.

Scalewise these are the same as the RRT minis, correct? Maybe I'll be able to fill out all the things that Palladium failed to deliver to me with these.

There's also a new mini game coming.

Allegedly.

The figures are due out Oct/Nov ~$10. The game 2020

Anyway now that I'm at a computer, some pics:

The minis look like someone did a good modelling job.

The IP is tainted by mismanagement and theft, plus still belongs to HG. Pass.

I was not a fan of the Palladium game.

I hopped on over to the company's website. Nice stuff. Something caught my attention, though. The company that makes these is based in Hong Kong. I'm guessing that the actual manufacturing is done elsewhere. But the political problems on the island could still affect the headquarters in a way that causes problems with the release.

Hopefully the PRC response to the current demonstrations in Hong Kong won't affect the release of these.

As a collector and painter of any kind of stompy robot I'm going to have to have at least one of each of these. They will look fantastic with some Vallejo Mecha colors. They are just very aesthetically pleasing.

I can't imagine at 1/285th they'll retain that level of detail.

If this had nothing to do with HG, I would be filled with anticipation. I'd certainly like to see what the actual models end up looking like - it would at least be great to be able to laugh out loud at Papa's Kevin ignorance in "they have to be done THIS way".

Yeah, I'm really tired of "look at this amazing CG/3D model!" - it says/shows nothing about how a company handles resin - which can be garbage or amazing.

$10 a pop for plastic would have had me interested...$10 for a resin miniature is far less enthusiastic response.

Would like to see some of these in the wild.

Not at all. Macross hasn't produced a semidecent followup since Plus, which despite beautiful animation, was a stinker of a story. If it wasn't for Robotech, both Southern Cross and Mospeada would have disappeared into the sands of time and gone to die in the pit of early 80's anime mediocrity.

Back to the news at hand, I've got in preorders for the first wave and for the second wave (including 6 Nousjadeul-Ger! Very much looking forward to doing's a Khyron's Revenge scenario around capturing a protoculture tank) and I'll definitely be pre-ordering the Monster.

Since the products are designed for the Asian (non-Japanese) market, their forthcoming game will be, according to Kenneth Kam, very simple, more akin to a Heroclix "bring some figures" with some easy dice mechanics.

Pledge manager in the url? Are they crowdfunding this or is it just a way for them to take preorders? Pass. Good luck to anyone who decides yet again to give money long in advance for a robotech product (albeit with a different company).

Well, I bit the bullet and ordered a half dozen of the new resin ones from HK. Will see how they are - if they continue to release them, I'll cope with the price as it means filling out the necessary minis to finally write a proper Robotech game (something I started many moons ago...but gave up when 1/200 scale models were all I could use).

Is there any way to order a few specific miniatures rather than dropping $100 + shipping? I just want a few of the invid.

You chose wisely... especially if you waited long enough to get it 75% off on clearance.

Yeah, definately waiting for retail on this - and seeing an unboxing to see how “melted crayon” the figures will be.

Note: I am not involved in this project, just a Robotech fanboy that's been following it. All my info is from Dave Killingsworth's posts in various Robotech related Facebook Groups, especially the Robotech RPG Tactics FB group

This is pre-order, not a crowdfund, they're just using PledgeManager to process the pre-orders. Clicking on a pledge level takes you to the "manage addons" screen, which has much better pictures and prices and info than the main pre-order page does.

This is a board game with cardboard standees, not a miniatures game. The minis won't be available at retail, they're specifically a "pre-order bonus" for the boardgame, which again will just have cardboard standees when it hits retail. The minis are mostly a way to drum up excitement about the board game and are specifically aimed as just a cool extra for Robotech fans, there's no stretchgoals to hit or anything like that, the game is basically done and just waiting on final art before going to the printers in China.

The minis are smaller than i thought they'd be, the Cyclones are only 1/75, which is roughly 20mm wargamer scale (40K is 28mm or 32mm heroic scale). The Invid, Alphas & Betas are 1/155 scale, which is about 10mm~12mm wargaming scale, same as Heavy Gear and Dropzone Commander. He's shown off the 3D prints which look great, but I have no idea how good they'll be when cast in resin.

Personally, I'm probably going to get the "$100 in minis credit" and that's it, just to get 2 of each Cyclone. The boardgame itself looks mediocre as heck, their previous board game looked mediocre as heck, and their card game looks mediocre as heck. Good art at least, and they did release both those games to retail already so it's not just vaporware. Still a risk, but i think this is going to be my best shot at having Cyclone minis to game with.
