Last hours!
We are in the last hours of the campaign! We are very happy. This experience is amazing.

Thank you!

We have the best option to cover all the cards of Infinity Defiance.

This unlockable is an add-on of € 35. The quality of the sleeves is Premium.

The Enemy Cards of Raoul Spector and Katherine Cho (Outcast expansion) have been unlocked, with them, you can play these characters as enemies.

The cards are included in the Outcast expansion.

And we have a new hero, it is a new miniature of Kassandra Kusanagi.

KASSANDRA KUSANAGI
We have to bring this ship to safety. We have to kill them all, except for one, to make him talk. We are going to find out who they are and for whom they work, and we’ll make sure they are not going to hurt us ever again. Because that’s what the Observance is for. That’s what we are for.”

Reverend Kusanagi, transmitted by intercom, Violent Intermission.

In the Observance of Holy Mary of the Knife, Cassandra Kusanagi is considered a true celebrity. Tough, dangerous and with a past full of corpses to prove it, she was the greatest heroine of Bakunin’s Violent Intermission. Kusanagi managed to detect ALEPH’s infiltration commandos on the ship and knew how to deal with them, coordinating the Observance forces from the frontline to repel the attack. Sadly, no tangible evidence to implicate ALEPH was obtained in the offensive, which was completely shattered thanks to her efforts.

The veteran Superior Cassandra Kusanagi has thirty five years as an active Reverend Moira. Her youthful appearance is due to anti-agathic and physical improvement treatments with biosynthetic implants. She is a cold woman, slender and silent as death. Her face, which usually holds the serenity of a mask, has been trained to show only what her owner wants it to show. Her movements have the softness of a Hindu dancer but with something coldly reptilian underlying them… Kusanagi can be compared to an ancient ceremonial sword: elegant and distinguished, but also sharp and lethal, like the steel with which she was forged. Her combat experience is so wide and varied that, at her side, the most veteran soldier seems like a newbie recruit. She has served as a Bakunin operative and as a Nomad Military Force regular trooper, as an Observance operative and as a covert agent of the Black Hand. She has faced soldiers, TAGs, pirates, alien troops, government agents and Aspects of ALEPH, and survived every one of them. Her presence in combat terrifies and her outbreaks of religious fury cause those around her to shiver. Kusanagi is not like any other dangerous and independent individual you may have known or imagined… she is much worse.

The Cassandra Kusanagi's miniature and hero cards will be included into the Revenant expansion.

More Enemy Cards! It's time of the heroes of Revenant who with these cards will become the enemies.

The cards are included within the Revenant expansion.

Thank you!!

We can only say...

THANK YOU!

In the last few hours, we have been able to unlock the extra mission for Cassandra Kusanagi.

As well as a new hero with a totally new miniature: Father Lucien Sforza!

FATHER LUCIEN SFORZA
Father Sforza is a unique bounty hunter and adventurer who was a clergyman and still wears a clerical collar. His face is long, serious and pale, with sharp, black, glazed eyes, and such beautiful hands that they would seem to belong to an angel. His look is impressive, and he radiates an aura of terror and respect. He walks with long, elegant strides, and has the appearance of a murderous gentleman. He is an educated man, skillful and active, but marked with the hot iron of disgrace. If he had continued his ecclesiastical career he could have possibly become a saint, albeit a frightening and gloomy one. His clothes and weapons look clean but are worn from use. All of his weaponry is customized and personalized like a gunslinger’s. Father Sforza is a hunter, investigator, and an executioner - an almost romantic figure, with a legend behind him. A real professional, effective and dispassionate, who recognizes the danger of visceral reactions independent of the pleasure they can provide. He is one of those people who few will miss when he dies. Throughout his career, Sforza has forged a fearsome reputation, retrieving an extraordinary quantity of bounties, hunting both men and Rogue A.I.s equally. The mere mention of his name frightens outlaws and fugitives, but he is not really a cruel person. To put it simply, he, like a shark, cannot change his nature.

The miniature and hero cards will be included in the Revenant expansion.

We have been able to unlock the extra mission for Father Lucien Sforza. This mission will be available into Revenant Expansion.

And, we have one more surprise, with over 5,000 backers we have unlocked a new TESEUM GOAL.

Base your Megalodron with his latest victim.

And no, we don't forget Agnes, it was the last unlocking campaign!

Agnes is a non-player character (NPC), who appears in the first Infinity Defiance mission, and who has become an icon during the campaign thanks to the #prayforAgnes movement. Finally, we will have your miniature.

This miniature will be free for Pledges COLLECTOR'S, DELUXE and / or PLATINUM.

WHAT WILL HAPPEN NOW?
Kickstarter will now charge you the total of your contribution with the selected payment method.

In January we will send you an email with access to the Pledge Manager. There you must confirm your pledge, add-ons, shipping address and pay shipping costs.

In the Pledge Manager, you will be able to increase your pledge level, acquire several pledges or add add-ons.

Of course, we will continue to update the campaign regularly with all the progress.

Once again, we want to thank you for all the support received. You are the best.

THANK YOU!

And apparently they'll offer a late pledge at some point.

Gives me time to see what their plans for N4 are.

The success of this kickstarter likely means N4 will be pushed, or it will be much more of a new book and rules release. They might even be able to reuse some of these new models for a new box set for N4.

I feel like the expansion packs are pretty geared towards being N4 starters.

Possibly. I think they will be 'reinforcement' boxes, a way of consolidating SKUs. Buy a starter, buy the reinforcement box, have enough minis to play Code One. Something similar to the Operation: Word+Word boxes and the Beyond Operation: Word+Word boxes, but with only one army.

We'll know soon enough, if/when CB starts discontinuing individual blisters and releasing these boxes.

An Agnes mini. Hmm, wondering if this a good omen or not?

Now the waiting begins. I hate waiting.

If they are, I don’t like them. They break existing boxes, meaning you end up with duplicates, and they’re only available if you buy a different game.

Did I miss an announcement, or is the "N4 starter" thing someone's weird assumption.

Because after N3 came out, Corvus Belli went through and redesigned all of the 2nd edition starter boxes by changing the logo and box art. And I wouldn't be at surprised if one of the current starter packs was traceable back to first edition (with resculpts or whatever, but mostly the same box).

That's assuming they're keeping the same purchase structure in N4. Not sure what you mean by buying a different game. I'm suggesting its possible that this is the way we see Infinity repackaged for N4. Maybe not necessary as starters, but possibly something similar to what we've seen with Malifaux. The "box set" structure for reducing SKUs seems pretty viable. I'd not be surprised if they simply discontinue some of the models in the existing boxes. The 4 per box has been a bit of overkill outside of Fireteams, but even then, the need for 4 of anything has been greatly reduced now that mixed fireteams are a thing. Most of the missing models from the sets I own happen to be the ones that sit on my shelf. That's why I feel like these are something more than a random collection of models to use as enemy NPCs for defiance.

Yeah, CB eventually has to do something about their SKU count. But watching how that process of repacking boxes together with the occasional misstep, that's probably going to be a rough process.

Five years ago: "Hey, why does GW have so much stuff as special-order only?"
Today: "Oh...."

I think the reinforcement packs that are available for Defiance are going to be the model for a faction's starter set. The eventual product may not be exactly the same in terms of model choice but it will likely be - conceptually - quite similar.

I would hazard a guess that the starter sets will be playable in Code One right out of the box. Perhaps using every model, or perhaps allowing you to use a subset of them to create several different lists.

These 8 man boxes are super good for giving player's access to lots of models cheaply and efficiently, while also keeping the SKUs down for each faction. Win win, really.

You have to buy into Defiance to buy them. I don’t imagine they’d be that cheap if they were available on their own.

Well no. I mean that they're a discounted way for someone to get items that, in some instances, are locked in boxed sets.

I don’t get what you mean really, because it’s no easier to get stuff in these boxes than it is to get the sets they’re locked in, because you have to at least buy the Defiance core set to even be able to buy them.

They’re just made for Defiance, and I think they’ll stay that way. They replace the enemies in the board game to change it up.

Or they might discontinue the existing SKUs and re-release these models under box sets like this.

I don't imagine they'd be that cheap on their own, but that wasn't my point.

The only way to get them right now is to buy Defiance. I am proposing that CB sell these as normal products or - at the very least - something similar to them. These box sets come with a good variety of highly usable models that most people playing those factions would want. They are great launch pads for new players jumping into the game (as well as being good places for existing players to start new faction(s)).

45 Euros (50 USD) is a great way to hook people into the game on the cheap. Even if they increased the price to 60 or 70 bucks, it would still be a go-to product for new players.

One of the goals CB has had in the long term is to have products that stores should always stock, and these packs are perfect for that.

Infinity already has numerous starter products. Not only do you get stuff like the Operation + Beyond boxes, each of the sectorials also gets a starter box with 6 models - and these are generally "starter models", with less complicated rules than some of these reinforcement boxes (no hackers, no tags, etc).

Honestly, I don't think there is another miniature game out there that has better and more friendly starter products (the game itself is a different story). I'm not sure that the reinforcement packs would bring in more new players than what's already out there. It'd really only be useful to people who already know how to play, know how they want to build their army (which they don't already have), and want those specific models and not any of the ones found in the boxes those models originally came from.

It's more a question of whether or not its a better strategy for distribution going forward. 3rd Ed Malifaux's biggest feature has been putting the emphasis back on the crew boxes in the rules and then providing add on bundles of models that go with that theme, pretty much entirely in the name of reducing SKU. I can definitely see Infinity benefiting from a similar product line (they already do, honestly); with packs like these as add ons for the starter boxes that seem to be their biggest sellers.

We're manufacturing the first core miniatures!

Welcome back, backers!

The campaign concluded a week ago and we are still digesting how crazy it was! There have been 5,303 backers who supported Defiance by contributing more than a million euros. Amazing! We will never get tired of saying THANK YOU over and over again!

We also want to thank those who were following the last minutes of the live Twitch stream , where we even had time to do some draws in real time. If you missed the stream, you can watch it on our Twitch channel.

By now, you must be wondering what are we doing at CB! When it comes to Defiance, the most immediate plan is to have the Pledge Manager ready to be launched by January. The start and ending dates are still to be announced in an upcoming update. For those who didn’t make it on time to back the campaign (or those of you who couldn’t contribute for whatever reason), we remind you that you will have the chance to make a "late pledge". You can get more information by following this link.

On the other hand, we are already getting loads of work done; also meaning we are already manufacturing the first of the Core miniatures. We have plenty of Defiance to deliver!

Lastly, we are also working to show you the last three figures to be unlocked in the last hours of the campaign as soon as possible: the heroes Lucien Sforza, Cassandra Kusanagi and the audience’s absolute favorite NPC: Agnes. Don’t worry, we will show you in an update as soon as we have the renders ready!

See you in the next update!

Koni on the official forums mentioned that there may be a video reveal of Agnes and the other two. He did not give, wisely, a time frame.

No need to rush, they have plenty of other tasks to complete. Most of the pledges are at the top level. Looking at the numbers:
Core-232
Collectors -194
Deluxe- 488
Platinum- 3,542
Other- 847 (I'm guessing people who pledged so they can get to the PM in January)

Wow. That's a lot of Platinum pledges.

Bodes will for the system and its eventual use for a skirmish game.
