Finished a few more Monsters for MonPoc. Hoping to be caught up before May, where I plan to knuckle down on some serious Malifaux.

I finished the broadsides, 3 tau tanks and Farsight. Was going to do shadowsun, but i wanted a battery recharge until i try to go ham on another model.
my work uses the princible of ABA and action/reward to get people motivated. So i Decided, for every 10 things i cross off my list(Not models, projects, like one project can be 10 marines) I get to buy a new model. So while im still fighting the pile of shame, i can still buy and reward myself.

I think I can finally finish my entire backlog this year. I'm going to finish off the third army before June hopefully

It's only 5 armies, one titan and a few minor commissions

That's a whole Company's worth, nice.

Finished another 10 Daemonettes, just 30 on foot left to go. That brings me up to 33 for the month, I think the quarantine and not having to get up an hour earlier to drive into work is actually throwing me off my rhythm.

Thanks!

Yeah I'm finding never going to the office is disrupting my rhythm for painting as well. I now spend more time with my paints out, but am not producing much more.

I've found that I'm making negative progress. (unless you count priming)

1) With no real time constraints & virtually no gaming I've got no reason to get anything done. At least when our AoS Path to Glory league was running each Fri. I'd try & show up with another two finished goblins/dwarves/etc every week. Now.... Monday, Tue, Wed, Thur, Fri, Sat.... It feels like all the same long day.

2) With nothing much better to do I'm rehabbing a bunch of goblin(& orc) figs that have built up over the years through buying of mixed lots etc. So every few days I'm actually adding to the pile as I hit EBay in order to bring units up to min. size - several wolves, several boars, a wolf mounted standard, a dozen forest goblin archers, several plastic archers/spearmen, a command squad for the orcs, etc.

The good news is that soon everything Orc/Goblin that's not already painted will be 100% primed. And have dedicated storage vs just tossed in a Steralite tub on a basement shelf.

I have another update on the pile of shame.....kinda.
Another goal was to get as much in foam and boxes as possible so i made a massive as feth order from battlefoam and while i have not gotten much off the shelves due to doing some of the foam wrong, I did consolidate quite a bit.
My goal is to get to my books withough knocking off my models lol

Been a while since I posted on here, but I’ve been busy painting, though not as much as some. Most were completed last year, but I’ve finally finished painting Blackstone Fortress. This is the first time I’ve ever had a completely painted boxset! Janus finished the box and brought my total to 62 for the year, 49 nett. I’m going old school next with RTB9 Terminators

Keep up the pile reduction guys!

I'm almost done with my terrain that I've been working on. Last night I was in a weird mood of wanting to cross something off my list but not wanting to be precise. So I just grabbed some contrast paints and some of Gloomspite Gitz and just started slapping whatever the primary color of that model was on there. At some point, I will go back and touch up where I fell outside the lines. The thought of doing that last night just made me feel sick for some reason.

Still didn't paint at all this week....but I also didn't buy anything...well, other then some supplement books for Frostgrave. Osprey site has a sale right now and I got them for a good price (and the shipping was cheap too!)

Thanks for the heads up on the sale, I will need to go check that out.

I painted the flesh on about 8 bases of 6mm infantry, so about 200+ guys... that was not fun. Hopefully, painting their assorted tunics will be a bit more interesting.....

I just ordered 10 more models, but I'm set to finish 17 models today and another 16 by mid mext week so it's still in the positive. I've also finished 22 more models since my last update at the start of the month and just over 50 since the start of the year, while buying 21 minis this year so I'm sticking to clearing the backlog very well

I closed out the month with a block of six Fallout Synths.

This was a slow month both in terms of finished models (39 compared to my usual 45-50) and also in terms of project groups (8 compared to 10-13). I'm putting that down to quarantine driving everyone else in my house a little stir-crazy so I'm missing a lot of my evening painting sessions.

I also back-slid a little bit and ordered a single Knight Rampager to use with my Slannesh Daemons. Daemonettes are bad enough that I won't feel terrible about that particular blend of soup at 1000, unless Engine War manages to do something catastrophic to game balance.

Salvaged the paint job on my two Admech skimmers. I'm really happy as the red rattlecan had done a number on them and I thought I was going to have to strip and repaint.

Other than that though, my painting has slowed down this last month. It "feels" like I'm running out things to paint, even though I actually have a ton of things to tackle that aren't 40K models.

It never ends well

Just finished this guy last night, he sat patiently to get finished for months after some 90% painted.
The Warhound project seems to have got my painter's block unstuck.
I have also noticed there is a fine line between intentional streaking and weathering and just looking like sloppy shading... I am unsure where I am with that model.

Nearing the end, finally!

Have a crisis suit and the last of my vanguard in the middle of painting.

Next project is my last 'full' project - the last half dozen samurai for my test of honour army.

With the covid thing, I've been rummaging round, and have put together stuff that I don't necessarily consider a project per se, but is an interesting one - I'm calling it the 'rescue squad'. I have found a bunch of unpainted/un assembled models (some from ten years ago) that I've decided to mod, assemble and paint. It's an eclectic mix - 4 metal pathfinders, 6 kasrkin (no backpacks, or heads!) that require converting, and I think necromunda-ing, 4 mkiii/mkiv hybrid marines (assembled from the leftover scraps from burning prospero and betrayal at calth), 3 old metal space wolf scouts, 2 metal SM special weapon biker torsos that I have going to convert into regular marines with left over bits, 2 old metal cadian special weapon-ers and 3 imperial guard officers which are being converted. This will keep me going for a bit longer.

Thanks to April's Dakka Painting competition and a little lockdown in the UK, I was able to clear 7 Plague Marines, a Malignant Plaguecaster, Noxious Blightbringer, Poxwalkers, 20 Ork Boyz, 8 Nobz, 5 stormboyz, and 3 warbikerz off my pile of shame! Which also means I only have 3 unpainted chaos models and a big fat 0 unpainted Ork models in my collection!

Just gotta clear the space marines now - the Dark Vengeance set, a captain, a vanguard vet squad, 2 lieutenants, 6 terminators and touch up another few a bit. Plus 15 grey knights. I'd say that's not bad

The Grell - one of my favorite D&D monsters. So imagine how happy I was to see WK release a new, very cool sculpt of it in their pre-primed line a few weeks back.

Today will be a day long remembered. It has seen the finishing of a sorcerer, and has seen the end of the Pile of Shame.

I can now say ALL OF MY MINIS ARE PAINTED!

I have fought the pile of shame in 2020, and was victorious.

Today is a good day.

Thanks,

IDK why, bit for some reason, a project that has been on the back burner for while makes me feel real good finishing, specifically my vulture. It feels so good finishing it. I cut some corners(Mostly, I decided for ease of my sanity, to do painted glass rather than paint the crew.
But all in all, its got me excited.
Even if i fail to get all my models painted before i buy new ones or take on some friends gak, it feels good to have so little on my head
