Witch-King, Frodo and Sam, orc captains and Galadriel, because why not? Everything seemed quite reasonable apart from Amon-hen. Not sure why that got such a price boost. Got them literally just as the site updated, so hopefully no waiting on the mto for it.

That was my entire reasoning for leaving out the trolls too. I'm not quite sure why I didn't just throw the dwarves in as well now as I don't see them very often. Oh well.

Youve got the rest of the week to order them if you like I guess? Are they characters from the book or gw additions? I don't recall their names. I might order them on Friday. It does say delivery within 180 days... Which is 6 months.

Because they're like gold dust is my best guess. Demand is probably quite high for them.

Everything but Cirdan for me as I had picked him up in the first MTO. Hopefully won’t take too long to arrive (my order went in before 10 as they were up early) but already have a massive backlog so have more than another to keep me going.

Is it really though? Most of it is quite easy to find seperately apart from a complete dying Boromir. Even the uruks carrying the hobbits tend to appear fairly regularly.

Aragorn and Lurtz can be tricky to find, in my experience. When they do crop up, they always go for fairly high prices. Legolas and Gimli less so. All the Uruks are common enough, although the hobbit carrying pair do go for high prices normally.

The real golden egg is, as you say, Boromir. I see him regularly. But to find one with all 3 arrows and both horn parts is like not easy. And the few I have seen over the past year or so have all good for outrageous prices.
Even the very obvious resin recast I saw went for much more then it should have.

My "MTO" stuff has been dispatched, so looks like early orders are being sent out before the MTO period has expired.

As the GW said. Existing stock gets sent right away. Once those run out it's MTO.

Since there's still no delivery note for me I presume SOMETHING from order was already out of stock. And my purchase was 5 minutes after opening...Good thing it was MTO or it would have been another "sold out in minutes"! So much "this time it was intended as limited release so they made more" claims told to me. GW stocks short constantly. Limited or not. Stuff selling out in minutes is no surprise.

At least this time GW had decency to make it MTO after all...

I ordered around 9:55 and my order hasn't shipped yet, the only model I didn't order was Cirdan so I suspect there was at least one more model that was in high demand.

Quite possible. Witch king seems to be also pretty high demand based on what people are ordering.

Or it could be it was most of stuff that got sold out in heartbeat Good in that it shows LOTR is popular, bad if GW tries to release something limited not-MTO...

I only just got mine shipped yesterday and I ordered about the same time as you. Chances are they're just taking their time working through the orders.

Mine arrived on tuesday. Was very impressed considering it said delivered in 180 days.

Mine hasn't been dispatched yet. I'll wait.

Dragon Cult Acolytes.

In game terms, Dragon Cult Acolytes act as an elite warrior choice for Easterling armies. Possessing a Fight value of 4, they can to go toe-to-toe with the likes of Dwarves

Hopefully that's a deliberate hint of these being in a WotR Dale book.

Also looks like Anborn and Mablung are No Longer Available.

Easterlings are cool, but a tad concerned by the rangers going OOP. That was an incredibly short lifespan, wasn't it?

Maybe they're going to be repackaging them into something else, or there's a resculpt coming for Faramir and his 'commanders' and GW has decided to move them into it?

They're not oop. Neither are the Hurscals. Jay and Kev said on the GBHL it's a mis-lable and they're just oos. They'll be back in a bit

Also bugger, now i need to see if i've got any custom bases i used for my own Easterlings left.

Literally scrolled past the silhouette preview yesterday when looking for some article on WarCom and thought "huh, nearly forgot about those, wonder when we'll finally see more of them?".

They look alright, not sold on all parts of the design but the poses are decent, and as said at the first preview: thank the Valar the Easterlings finally have another troop choice!

Hmm, they'll be out "soon" and this is a new "series" of articles... wonder if we'll hear more about the supplement next week already? Middle-earth has been a bit quiet lately, so any semi-regular news releases would be welcome.

There's probably another Preview stream in a few weeks for the inevitable Sisters/Ork reveals so I wouldn't be surprised if they made an announcement for it then unless it turns out to be a 40k-only affair.

If it IS the Siege of Dale they'd presumably have a few kits to show off like King Brand, maybe an Old Dain (although they could just repaint the existing one), maybe Dale cavalry, at least some kind of special archer unit? Plus if they're pushing out anymore for the Easterlings.

Wouldn't be surprised to see a new mid-range named hero for the Easterlings perhaps?

Will be interesting to see if they do a separate old Dáin, both as a sculpt (the current one is rather nice already, so certainly not necessary) and as a profile - they've consolidated some profile variants in the last few years (Elrond, Thranduil, Legolas), but occasionally keep them or add new ones for specific circumstances, so difficult to predict.

Does the license allow them to make models of characters who were in the film but in costumes/periods that weren't depicted? The only example I can think of is Scouring-Saruman and he's notably covered by a cloak (Grima similarly has hair covering his features.

It does, but they're not allowed to use the likenesses of the actors. As you pointed out, Christoper Lee's face is hooded over and Grima's arm is covering his face.
