Please tell me you can buy ghaz separate, be a bit of a lame move to lock it to a £100 box set

It'll be locked to the box set for 3-4-5-6 months just like all the other recent releases in joint-boxes.

Unless, however, GW changes tack, which I doubt.

PS: It will, however be available via eBay once the box is released, since splitting boxes is big eBay business - and a solid chance it'll be cheaper than the MSRP of the final release model.

It will be separate. In a few months. For now those of us who want just one model will have to purchase them from resellers.

I'm not saying that GW realizes that selling online to resellers who will split the box and eke a small profit out of it means that they'll sell gigantic, high profit margin boxsets to a customer base that will be far, far easier to manage than either a physical retailer or a direct customer and allows GW to operate like a de facto Multi Level Marketing company....but I'm not NOT saying that.

GW makes the same money if they sell direct to an actual customer or to a reseller.

Very nice looking models but sad to see Thraka once again resigned to being just a large ork in a "might equals right" walking tank. Back in the early 90s his weapon was his intelligence, cunning and leadership but here he just looks like an anti-vehicle unit. Kudos for Makari, though - he looks great!

Saying that, its still an awesome Ork model. Would have liked it as a replacement dreadnought for space crusade, but I think he might be a bit too big!

Casual gaming, mostly solo-coop these days.

Ghaz is... overdone. All of his things are comically oversized, but each one individually, not all together, if that makes sense, so that all sense of scale and proportion is lost. He's not a BIG model - he's a model with a BIG left arm and a BIG right arm and BIG feet and a BIG back.

Agreed- and its weirder since you can see so much of him in the gaps of armor. Like his thighs, which have his actual knees bending at the top of the armor's knee plates, which put his feet... I guess under the knee plate and above the armored foot. I don't even want to guess how painful it would be to have his arms pinned the way they are, or where the hands are supposed to be. Or how his legs attached to his torso, to be honest.

Ragnar's model by comparison is.. just boring. Is he teetering over and reach out to grab a support? Why is is pistol holster so huge, and how in the world does he draw the pistol? The grip is under the backpack and the cloak.

Story is... uh. Yeah. About what I thought, but with even more plotholes- at least one side definitely shouldn't have been able to recover the remains of their boss. And when I joked about a 30 minute version of Rocky I & II, I did not expect GW to frame the story as exactly that in a marketing video. Listen, this is basic story telling. The grudge match can't be set up at the same time as the opponents simultaneously killing each other. Pick one, and stop.

When do we get rules for these models?

Another week?

Well, I guess that death means nothing anymore.
Not only is decapitation not fatal, it makes you get bigger and stronger.

Wow. Much stakes!

How did Ragnar get into that pose? Was he balancing on top of that half buried aquila sculpture? Why would you leap forwards with an outstretched hand rather than sensibly wield your two-handed sword?

The reason it was locked was pretty clearly stated in the thread.

Forewarned suggests you consider it a bad thing and you posted it in the wrong place.

The mods literally told you in your thread it was because we already had a thread discussing it. The info in your thread had already been stated in this one well before you posted.

Ghazghkull might need a little reposing. I guess he's supposed to look like he's crashing through some scenery like the Hulk, but without modelling a building on his base he looks like he's posing pretty hard. I really like his claw. The face is not that great, IMO, like most newer Ork/Orruk/whatever faces. For the rest I will wait for the 360 view, he might benefit from a few more exhausts or engines or gubbins to balance the seeminglybreally front heavy mini. Might look moar proppa as a walking wrecking ball or hedgehog of death with more crap stuck to his back.

Sooner or later I'll have to get him, in any case.

Eh, re-attaching an ork's decapitated head to its body has been part of the lore for ages. Funny if Makari was the grot who found it.

They mention that Ghaz can be modeled facing the other way (toward his Klaw), I wonder if it only changes his head, or if the pose can be altered as well.

Exactly where they're supposed to be. Your Patella isn't in line with the top of your thigh, especially if you have big quads.

No - next Saturday's pre-orders are already announced (the rest of the Sisters of Battle range).

The box and Saga book will probably go on pre-order on the 21st for release on the 28th.

Both minis look amazing, though I am a bit iffier on Ghaz... pose could have been more imposing and the paint scheme of the black seems to let the detail on the model down a bit. That being said, I can't wait to see what the pro's do with it, seems to be begging for more freehand etc. Ragnar seems pretty perfect to me though.

Ghazghkull Thrakka is beautiful. *sheds a tear of joy*

7 Ork facts people always get wrong:
Ragnar did not win against Thrakka, but suffered two crushing defeats within a few days of each other.
A lasgun is powerful enough to sever an ork's appendage or head in a single, well aimed shot.
Orks meks have a better understanding of electrics and mechanics than most Tech Priests.
Orks actually do not think that purple makes them harder to see. The joke was made canon by Alex Stewart's Caphias Cain books.
Gharkull Blackfang did not even come close to killing the emperor.
Orks can be corrupted by chaos, but few of them have any interest in what chaos offers.
Orks do not have the power of believe.

Well I would actually change few things:

- Replace Ghaz base stuff with skulls. Lots of skulls. So many skulls that even Khorne would think it would be too much.

- Ghaz shoota needs rokkits. Not optional.

- Corpse to be mangled between klaw. Bloodier the better.

- Add platform on Ghaz back and put Makari on it waving his little banner (and hang on for dear life).

- Makari model could be replaced with cardboard cutout, and it would be more deadly.

On Ghaz’s pose, I suspect it’s difficult to make something that big and heavily armoured suitably dynamic?

I like it a lot myself, but agree the rubble needs a kustom job!

The mystery of where his feet are doesn't have anything to do with his kneecaps lining up with the top of his thighs (or not). The knees as a whole are behind the top of mech's armored kneeplates, so there's no way his feet are in the robot feet.

They're either vertical in the legs of the mech, or they're jutting out in between the knee plate and the robot feet.

On the other hand, tactical rock under Ghazzy means you could put nearly any dead foe beneath his foot.

They have the rules for Zoats in Kill Team in the incoming White Dwarf, so I'll venture a guess next saturday could be a BSF Zoat expansion.
