Nope. Not a chance. I'm my retconned, inner world of 40K, the wolvies are pretty much alive and integrated on Ragnar's profile, thus being the reason for his +2 attacks on SHock Assault.

Playing Warhammer while living in Aussieland IS pretty questionable. Unless they print money on eucalyptus leaves, in which case it does grow on trees.

Nonesense. I thought Australians could just do some hiking in the outback, kick over some stones, collect whatever's under it and come away with a pretty reasonable Tyranid army, no?

An all biotitan army is sadly illegal by the rules.

Actually Ragnar recruited himself. He was the chapter's youngest recruiter ever at the time too! He just skipped all the steps between "not a space wolf" and "space wolf recruiter".
Sorry I don't know the silly name for space wolf recruiters, I'm gonna guess grey wolves claws or something similar.

Ragnar has infinitely more attacks because he'll actually survive to get into combat (even if hes slow). Discolords are often just a trap.
Sure. And inversely, an 11 Attacks Frozen Star Solitaire or a 9 Attacks Teeth-of-Terra/Imperium Sword Jump Captain are probably better than Ragnar, because they can get into the meaningful combats quicker and more reliable.
Just saying that Disco-Lord is (to my knowledge) probably the current champion of the mathhammer game of "how many attacks can a single model theoretically have".
If you want to talk about relevant attacks as a function of actually reaching combat reliably on the first turn then a White Scar Biker Captain with the Teeth of Terra at least deserves a mention. 8+1d3 attacks on the charge with the right Warlord Trait coupled with a minimum 22" melee threat range, and if you're backing him up with a jump-libby carrying the Plume of the Plainsrunner you can bump that to minimum 24" threat range and throw immunity to overwatch on top of it.

actually it's the wolf preists who are their recruiters.
Opinions are not facts please don't confuse the two

He was half right and got the wolf part.
getting the wolf bit though doesn't count given that's a given

oh man only a formation allows for that? and that is the only "Grot Kulture"

Waaagh! Grotz would have been the perfect time to add squig herds to 40K...

Well, no way to take Grot HQs, no way to use stratagems, so...meh. Seems pretty mechanically good I guess, with the boost to already stronk mek gunz and grots with a 6++.

vim_the_good wrote: Damn! I really thought we would get a real grot army with a grot hq. Oh well...
Well Makari is a grot HQ. Sadly, that's still pretty limiting as he's unique. 2 grot HQs or 1 generic grot HQ would allow for grot battalion detachments, if not brigades as there is no grot elite unit.
I suppose the silver lining for me is that the detachment isn't LIMITED to gretchin models. so I can use my mangler squigs as bonebreaka, my looted carnifex as deff dread, my fanatics as double choppa nobz and my gobbapaloozas as weirdboyz without having to fiddle with multiple detachments to get the grot subkultur in there.
What's really kinda saddening is that there's not 3-4 grot stratagems just to spice things up. Not being able to use any strats makes actual purist grot armies very boring.

If stratagems explicitly call out gretchin, they can use them, so there might still be some.
7 Ork facts people always get wrong: Ragnar did not win against Thrakka, but suffered two crushing defeats within a few days of each other. A lasgun is powerful enough to sever an ork's appendage or head in a single, well aimed shot. Orks meks have a better understanding of electrics and mechanics than most Tech Priests. Orks actually do not think that purple makes them harder to see. The joke was made canon by Alex Stewart's Caphias Cain books. Gharkull Blackfang did not even come close to killing the emperor. Orks can be corrupted by chaos, but few of them have any interest in what chaos offers. Orks do not have the power of believe.

Hopefully. Not holding my breath though, if there was anything I doubt that they'd have put in a whole preview article for just the one small rule.
