I'm one of those weird people in the minority that would've preferred Mospeada's Invid and Ride Armor to airplane robots and chicken walkers without even batting an eye.

Closest I've come so far are the Zombiesmith Kami Tale models...

How much longer til we see some game stuff getting teased?

Poorly lit photos of my ever- growing collection of completely unrelated models!

Invid were my favorite faction from Robotech. I’d buy the crap out of a 10mmish-scaled line of plastic Invid mecha.

Related note: DFC’s Scourge are pretty sweet.

It's called Macross (or any of the other two animes HG butchered) thank you, Robotech is what happens when you need to syndicate enough episodes for US TV and have no shame

There's always That Guy whenever Robotech is mentioned.
(Despite Robotech being superior in every way to the source materials.)

Well, that's certainly an opinion that people has.

OTOH, one franchise is dead and one isn't.

Wait, when did Macross die? Because Robotech just had a very well received release of models.

Well, if that's the measure, the Macross franchises are still releasing new models basically each month... this very month, for example, a VF-31S. It's been kinda slow lately, though, only half a dozen releases each month or so.

So, thank you for the Robotech - Macross conversation...

How about any news re the NY Toy Fair?

The Toy Fair doesn't even start until tomorrow so there's not really any news yet...

yes but then I can't compare and contrast two differant mech franchises that both have tech in their name

Opinions are not facts please don't confuse the two

Yes after 4 pages can we please withhold comments until there is actual news later today.

And do feel free to start a Macross/Robotech thread, I have DEEP THOUGHTS on the matter but this is not the time or place.

Whoever mentioned the last warcry warband I think it's spot on. It fits this kind of event, it's a release alot of people want but it isn't a massive reveal on the grand scale of things.

40k plushies... Yeah, I genuinely think they will sell well. And the best thing is, all the factions can be represented!

If they release a plush servo skull I'll be on it like a tramp on chips!

Fully agree, this should be anyones priority.
I think they had an obvious squig in the rumor engine recently.

Gathering the Informations.

Last minute predictions:
-Announcement of Space Marine Heroes wave 3(Death Guard) getting a domestic release.
-Announcement of a "Necromunda Lite" box available via Barnes & Noble. This follows in the vein of Blitz Bowl.
-Announcement of another "Combat Arena" style set, same availability.
-Announcement of another "Dreadfane" style set, with the Castigator easy to build set and Glaivewraiths.

You forgot the next wave of Funko Pops...

Oh, nice. The orks are so unimportant in 'Rise of the Orks' that they don't even get models.

Unsurprisingly, a lot of junk and an Underworlds warband.
Didn't they already do a black ork warband for Underworlds?

This is how Labyrinth of the Necrons worked, I believe.

Unsurprisingly, a lot of junk.

It's Toy Fair.

What exactly were you expecting?

All that out of the way, I'm genuinely surprised they revealed the Ironjawz warband and the Avenger Strike Fighters here.

Action figures could be interesting.

All the boxes games to be expected (non specifically), and AI and Warcry etc

Welp, I was right about the shadespire band. But the other reveals are eh.

Nice way to get the terminators tho, and probably easier to justify the price than the tactical marine game

Junk. But they still lived down to my expectations.
Exceeded them in some ways. I'm used to all day teasers for these 'event day' reveals, so an unenthusiastic 'one and done' reveal makes it seem like GW doesn't care about this stuff either.

Some junk, I imagine, since he prefaced it with "Unsurprisingly".

Like the Necron game last year.

It's just a way to release the Heroes figures and provide a gateway to GW games. It's not a 40K starter box.

Yeah I think a few people forget that the side/board games are not aimed at wargamers. That's why they use the same pushfit kits we see all the time in them; and why they can appear lackluster to wargamers. They are aimed at boardgamers and families and such - a related, but separate market.

Yet the main games did get some attention! A new Underworld Warband and some new planes for AN as well. Shame there wasn't any Warcry stuff such as the last warband, but at the same time I'd have expected a bit more build up for that to be honest.

How dare GW not kowtow to my slightly childish whim! Utter ingrates!
