Just to check this with you lot - this most likely means that DW won't get access to any of the SM models they're currently missing, yes? No Phobos for us?
The datasheet reprint that would be needed (in line with other PA books) would be substantial, and very unnlikely to feature in a WD supplement.
One of my main 3 armies is DW. Can't say I'm looking forward to this tail-off. Assassins are the only faction to come out of a WD supplement in good shape, if I remember correctly.

Dragonball powerup- the building is clearly bursting apart while she isn't on the ground, so she isn't falling. She's doing an anime powerup.
gotcha, anyway, the model is basically mimicking the image....so looks fine to me
I guess. I have a hard time with describing a model as 'fine' if people legitimately can't tell what the model's action pose is supposed to be, and falling or rising is open to interpretation.
This isn't even rare for 'dynamic' GW models. I still have no idea what Jain Zar is supposed to be doing, and it depends completely on which part of the model you look at.

Something about new era GW models which I take are all made in 3d editors always gives me uncanny valley feel, but I can never put my finger on what exactly is wrong.
Just as an addendum, I just went to post on the DW tactica about this, and found it nestling halfway down the second page of the tactica forum index, its last post being in mid February. Yeah, seems about right.

That tends to happen when a faction is ignored for more than a year.

For me, it's that they never look like they're actually moving. They do a lot of action posing, but they look like they're posing, not actually doing the action.
The old meta is dead and the new meta struggles to be born. Now is the time of munchkins.

I think the action High Five/Force Choke hand is getting played out. It only works on librarians, and even then its cliche.

Honestly nobody knows at present, but I didnt think deathwatch generally took marines from the 10th companies?
The problem, as keeps getting pointed out, is the communication. The Adepticon preview was described as "the biggest Warhammer preview ever" - and before a certain someone tries to claim this is the verbiage they always use, I direct you to the LVO seminar as proof they don't. They told us they'd be presenting that material across two online events, which was fine - but how the material was split meant that, for a lot of players, what was saw last week was... underwhelming, at best. They put out an article yesterday about how to watch this preview, which was an opportunity to warn people that they were now splitting the content they had across more events. They ran through today's event, and only right at the end did they say that what had been shown over 3 hours of streams thus far was half the material from Adepticon, and that (after taking Easter off, which is fair enough) there would be two more streams to complete this seminar.
The WHC team have done a great job over the last few years in helping to rebuild some degree of trust in GW by the community. And I get that the situation is changing fairly rapidly, which means plans may change.
But the WHC team (and anyone else at head office involved in organising this) have screwed the pooch on this one.
This absolutely nails it right here. Communication with customers for any business is key. GW have been notoriously bad in previous years but even when they've been at their 'best' recently it still isn't good by any real standards.
The most stupid thing about this whole.aituation is that this could've easily been avoided - GW could've cancelled the seminars all together or at least said that the thing would be dragged over multiple weeks. My understanding until literally the last 5 minutes was that this was the second and final adepticon seminar. Anyway, they live and learn I guess?

Primaris Vanguard Marines are not initiates or neophytes. And Deathwatch Watch Companies absolutely field them (Reivers would like to say hello). Vanguard units are already a part of their line of battle. GW just cant get their gak together and finish the line for this particular faction.

Atleast the primarich is standing on a decent terrain piece, whilest the gal is just standing on A structural unsound terrain and B, basically just sniper fodder.

GW:"Space marines got too many options to balance, therefore we decided to legends HH units." Players: "why?!? Now we finally got decent plastic kits and you cut them?" Chaos marines players: "Since when are Daemonengines 30k models and why do i have NO droppods now?" GW" MONEY.... erm i meant TOO MANY OPTIONS (to resell your army to you again by disalowing former units)! Do you want specific tyranid fighiting Primaris? Even a new sabotage lieutnant!" Chaos players: Guess i stop playing or go to HH.
The SOB model is awful. I too cannot tell if she is descending, ascending or doing some sort of kamehamehadouken. Awful mini. But sisters have enough new nice minis. The Harlie looks epic.
For those that did not watch the previews, what exactly was previewed. I saw two video clips attached, a Sister and a Helmet less Harlequin, and a Giant army for AoS?
Was that it?

Basically, not a single thing was interesting to me. Random, feels uninspired compared to what they had in previews BC (Before Corona).
Would be good to separate the hobby from the drama everyone is living worldwide with deaths etc... Just saying.
This thread got really dark and not in a fun way.
GW did a good job here, they went out of their traditional ways and interacted with everyone sharing things streaming etc. For me even if I'm not a big fan or anything and don't collect none that was previewed I found it quite relaxing and entertaining to listen to it. Like the alternative to that would be a canceled event and no news until god knows when.
Picked up some Mortal realms sprues and built some minis with GW twitch on the background. So yes quite positive hobby time right there. Loved the squirrel.
For some noisy people complaining well go ahead keep on making chats toxic and nagging threads with WE WANT MOAR ad eternum thanks! GW knows you and blocks all interactions as much as possible, but when they actually try to be more communicative you go berserk

Sure it was overhyped, but there's probably (definitely) a certain level of 'winging it' going on here. GW don't know when they're going to be able to start trading again. The longer the delay goes on the more it disrupts the planned release schedule. Why would they rush to preview something like 9E when it could end up releasing in Q3 or even Q4 / Xmas?
Is she part Jokero weapon smith or something? Would explain that face.
And she is clearly not falling, for one it would make no sense on a gaming piece. Like, what is she falling from? Second her sleeves are not conveying a downward movement but outward. And all that garbage on her base is floating up and outward.
Just when I thought tacticool rocks couldn't get worse
The Harlequin reminds me a lot of the old woodelf wardancers.
Especially the guy from warhammer quest aside from the hair.
I'm not fussed that they're spreading the reveals out and I'm sure there will be people who are stoked about these reveals. The one thing that has been a massive disappointment for me is Psychic Awakening. It's been such a damp squib, they built it up to be this cool thing for all factions when they should've just said 'we're spending the next 6 months updating all the space marine codexes'.
Not a SOB person myself but that Stern character looks like the BOMB! Would like an excuse to buy her, but alas there is none.
Harlequins are my bag at the moment and glad to see they have a proper entry for PA, and a forthcoming WD article. While, sadly I must pass on Stern, the Harlequin dude is kinda mandatory. Not enough models in that range so he'll do. Like the card-squares thing going on...
..THIS is what they did to ephreal stern with their current day modeling techniques? the character i cared the most about when i still liked sisters?
its ugly. outright ugly to me. possibly the most ugly model in the range now. it's even worse then the Mistr- Repentia Superior to me.
first of all, yay for freaking masonry. okay , pop question GW, why aren't you just using flying base set ups off the bases for character that can, or are wreathed in so much power they may as well be flying? Why do you have to attach more of your own masonry. i could make some really terrible jokes about the excite they seem to develop for terrain, but how about you let US terrain our own models. I do not buy for a second, this is dynamic. this has gotten utterly silly.
and before someone goes- "to stop the 3d printers!" can i ask why they didn't do that for the recent custodes/SOS characters? or the majority of the GSC characters? or so many of the space marine lieutenants, however many we're up to now?
the seals or whatever on her plating. what ARE THOSE, and why are they obscuring that model detail? i didn't even notice them on the first few passes, but now i do.
and this friggin face. ignoring the hair- which is HARD with the comparison image, mind you- is just UGH. it's Rage of the ages- enough to confuse her for khornate. is it wrong to ask for characters with some level of collected composure? the sisters screaming and rage faces feel so wrong to me, and because my order idea was to cold to scream in concept, im even more offput by these things.
This was the exact character i hoped would come back for years now, and.. no. just no.
if you like it, fine. but id rather have the harlequin. and the sad fact is harlequins aren't getting anything for themselves either. dangit.

Also, that won't stop the 3d printers. Why should it?

The thing is, we all know that the world is in a dire mess, and with a little communication beforehand "hey guys, due to this looking like it's going to extend, we've decided to likewise extend our reveals over the next month so we have consistent new content for you, sorry", I don't think anyone would have batted an eyelid. Instead, they have people tuned into the stream, thinking this is going to be be the last part of the biggest reveal ever! and it really isn't. Of course there will be backlash and disappointment. Personally, I'm not even going to watch the next one. I'll just check it out over that weekend sometime.
Actually I suspect if GW said at the start that it was cut down their Twitch chat and forums would have been even more negative just through the entire display not at the end.
Because basically anyone complaining right now is just shouting frustrations and projecting at GW mostly. What GW previews right now has NO effect on peoples hobbies at present. You can't even get a lot of the current products let alone anything new. Plans are up in the air for everyone and I think some are just looking for outlets - perhaps more so than normal.
I'm sure that once the factory starts producing again and shipments are arriving and new shiny toys are in peoples hands some of the negativity will ease off.
Dudeface wrote: The army box thing worked for sisters so well because of the hype and demand for the army, combined with the delay for the rest of the range, which translated into mental sales.
I get them seeing that doing well and applying it here, but I'm not sure there is the same demand/hype sisters had?
I remember the army box with the codex and exclusive model for 4th edition Space Marinez, and the Spearhead box with the codex and one set of each new kit and character for 5th. Other armies had them too. I know Eldar and IG in 4th, I think there was a Necron army box as well. They just fell out of style for a while.
