There's a kernel of truth here but the internet advice is off base. The ordering issues related to Internet were from GW's own webserver having thousands of people concurrently trying to load the site and pre-order the item.

Pretty hilarious that people think "set your alarm and make sure your internet is working if you want to buy the flagship box of the new edition because it's gonna sell out in 5 minutes" is a reasonable state of affairs.

Sure, the server was definitely overwhelmed. I ran into the maintenance page twice, but I refreshed and thanks to a high-speed ISP I was able to recover immediately both times.
Having a good internet connection is actually a huge key to recovering through an overloaded server.

As far as those who label my post as smug or insulting... well, my common sense tells me you're a brat.


For those who didn't get a copy but still maintain their self-dignity - I really am sorry about the circumstances. You deserve to have it and I think its too bad that good folks have missed out.

Everyone whos enraged at GW, Dakka and/or the hobbyists that did snag a box.. you probably didn't deserve to get one in the first place.

The only reasonable group to be angry with are the scalpers.

It means I support GW and have enough base with reality to understand the logistics side. They did nothing wrong IMHO.

Right now we are experiencing a serious global pandemic and it effects many factors of shipping and production.
I wouldn't expect GW to produce too large a number of a limited edition box set.. particularly at a time like this one.

Here's an update on my buddy who I thought was going to get 7, he managed to get 11... ELEVEN!!! And so far has already sold 6 of them on eBay for $700AUD apiece!

I imagine he will hold onto one for himself and, then sell the others...
