I don't know about everyone else but I can't help but think Darth Maul is thinking about his precioussss in that double handed pose. For some reason, it conveys a greedy feeling with that expression combined with the slightly oversized head.

Mk2 Clone, Super Battle Droids, Commander Rex, both unit upgrade boxes... There's at least 6 skus just between those two armies that will likely be unavailable at the distributor level for six months or more...

So... out of stock like he said, out of print means no longer being made.

From "Out of Print" yes it does because it implies they are never going to make more.

You're both right, my language wasn't precise, but this is the same distributor who had Night's Watch starters out of stock for sixteen months, and Millenium Falcons sold out for a year.

Frustrating to get into a game when two armies have half of their expansions sold out for an extended period. These two boxes, the Clone Wars basic troop upgrades, etc... make up much of those lists.

Legion fans, welcome to what it's like as an Armada player if you want an Imperial Arquitens or a Rebel MC30.

On the Legion side of things, I have three game stores in 30 miles that stock Legion, and I have NEVER seen a Clone Reinforcement 4-pack in the wild. I was almost going to get into Legion pre-Covid, but the reliability of stock issues made me choke.

It sucks for sure. But I'm pretty happy with what I got now.
I would like another of each of those you mentioned, but it will be settled eventually.
Like my store has no problems getting old stuff, so it will eventually settle down

Yes, FFG have had supply issues for ever. Unfortunately this will not be getting resolved in the midst of a global pandemic and it probably will not be sorted until after Asmodee get sold.

Legion stream happened! Couldn't watch it live so am shamelessly stealing the info here from the FFG forum;
https://www.fantasyflightgames.com/en/news/2020/8/1/heroes-and-legends-1/
Spoiler:

-Anakin is 15 points less than Obi-wan, but all his command cards have Permanent.
-Clone Medic and Engineer are armed, but only can heal one point. Have new keywords.
-Clone support all have Phase 1 and 2 options.
-Maul has 3 poses.
-Maul attacks with 8 dice!! "Juyo Mastery" Same cost as Anakin.
-Maul's second 1 pip command card replaces a 3 pip.
-Sith Probe Droid has new Observation token.
-Separatists Command Droids
- Viper Droid gets Observation tokens and is not a non-combatant.
-55 points for both faction's generic commander
-Specialist sets release January 2021 -Maul and Anakin release November 2020.
-Next 4 units released will be Imperial and Rebel. 2 "Highly requested characters" Darth Maul news
-jo yo mastery "in rage channeled into saber skill/combat
-"Maul is a sneaky boy" -double bladed lightsaber rolls 8 dice and is 1 attack not 2 like grievous
-"Maul has versatile play, a sense of flowing in combat"
-maul cost 160 points is also a high risk reward character like anakin
-yes Maul has 2 1 pips and 1 of them replaces a 3pip when I build your list so I can easily take them both
-probe droids are a detachment to Maul and and use new observation tokens "they let a unit hang back but still be able to influence the battle"

Really looking forward to the CIS releases, 55pt command options are going to be game changing and still have the option for a beatstick operative in either Maul or Bane. The T-series upgrade also will be fantastic leading B2 units.

I mean, they're their own company, barring the equity group that owns them. So even if they were, it would just be to another equity firm.

Perhaps if you shuffled some of your terrain?

Been rewatching Rebels lately, and I'm hoping we'll see some imperial Mandalorians for legion. I want some fly-guys for my Imperial force.

Do you think we'll have to wait 20 years for the hate to have diminished enough that we'll see First Order armies?

Wouldn't that be something?

I know it's not exactly how FFG does things but they should have just done generic Mandalorians that could be taken by any army, because really, that's what we saw in Clone Wars and Rebels.

When did we get hints from FFG that they were going to do Clone Wars? Have they said anything about the sequel trilogy at all so far?

It's my understanding that it wasn't until Clone Wars that many people reconciled with the prequel trilogy. I'd say it all depends on whether Disney wants to follow up the sequel trilogy with a good show that manages to give the sequels a better image by association. It's perhaps not going to take 20 years, but if that were to happen it would still take years.

Don't worry Geifer, Dave Filoni (the talent behind Clone Wars) supposedly already has something in development. Considering he single-handedly made me love the prequel-era, I have a lot of faith in him!

Hopefully Clone Wars for Legion gets a lot more fleshed out before they add two more armies to the game, though. Far too many omissions at this time.

Rumors suggest he has a whole lot more than that in the pipeline. Supposedly he also has a Rebels follow-up series starring a character I am sure you can guess, and also a third yet to be discussed project.

That's good to know.

Imperials and Rebels look good to me and I think a year from now the Republic and Separatists will be in a decent position as well. I don't know how much more they could release for Rebels and the Empire, but I would assume at some point those releases would start to slow down and give FFG empty release slots they want to fill with something new.

Personally I'd prefer to see a Scum faction first since that's in essence timeless, fitting into any era you want to play in, but I guess sequel trilogy stuff is the logical choice for the next two forces pitted specifically against each other, if FFG wants to continue down that road.

FFG really does like releasing stuff in pairs when possible, and I suspect adding two more whole armies to the Legion brand will be tempting. Following with Scum later rounds out the system too, as seven seems like a good number of factions for longevity for a system.

I'd be shocked in the 2021 Rebels/Imperial stuff didn't somehow squeeze The Mandalorian in. It was a huge hit even in a year where the Star Wars brand crapped itself in many people's eyes. That good will will want to be leveraged.

Bad Batch and stuff from the last season of Clone Wars will probably show up for the same reason, though I wish we could get a Wave of stuff like Nightsisters, too.

Is there going to be an armada version 2? I traded out all my stuff a couple years ago and kind of regret it as I never even got a chance to play.

More like a 1.5. They are updating older cards in a universal pack for everything but ship cards that is going to come out with the 2 new factions. There are hints of some amendments to core rules but nothing that changes how the game plays at its base. But we really won't know for another 4 months

Is that card upgrade pack worth preordering if we're just starting with the new faction boxes? Do we think those cards will be universal?

We're supposed to be getting Mandalorian stuff before the end of the year. I'd wager Cara and Gideon, but if they wanted to be really spicy and give us the Imperial Troop Transport(reasonably well scaled) I wouldn't say no.

As for Sequel stuff - I very much doubt it. The rumour going about on the FFG forum was they did plan to bring them in, but that plan changed and they'll be continuing roughly the current CW/OT split for the foreseeable. Nobody knows for sure why, but it's not hard to guess - sequel merch warms shelves even harder than Kelvin timeline Trek merch, and the vast majority of FFG's customer base is going to be OT grogs and people who loved TCW - even if there eventually is a big surge in sequel fandom when the kids who got into Star Wars through it grow up(a questionable supposition), it'll be at least five years and more likely ten before they're going to be buying Legion armies. I'd expect what we'll see are Mando show units in Rebels and Imperials for a while, then Scum if they decide to add a new faction(it'll be easier to bring a single faction up to parity with the others while maintaining a reasonable release schedule for them than it would be to do another two at once), and maybe they look again at sequel stuff in a couple of years when they see whether Disney is going to push the era and salvage it like TCW did for the prequels, or just abandon it and refocus on just-post-Endor and this High Republic thing.

I mean, the Clan Wren stuff evokes Mandalorians, but I meant more like Bo Katan, and Clone Wars depictions of Siege of Mandalore, etc... If that really is sneaking out this year for CW armies, I would be very hyped, and technically it would let them dip their toes into testing units that could be taken by both The Republic, and Separatists.

Edit: Are the current known releases complete, or does FFG sneak things into the schedule? This month is BX/ARC Troops, next is STAP/AT-RT, then a several month gap before Maul/Anakin and the Specialists?

Folk on the FFG forum discussing comments made by a designer or the marketing dude, they hand about on discords sometimes and do their livestreams every so often so little remarks get made. There's supposed to be an OT wave this autumn, and there's also supposed to be Mandalorian content of some form, but that's all that's been mentioned so far.
