Right, crummy materials, unresolved shipping details..Response of corporate slaves? Let’s throw more money at them and push this project they didn’t need to do in this manner over the ‘finish line’, so we feel less abused by hitting a few more generous stretch goals thoughtfully provided by our corporate greed masters

I’ve e been painting and playing with miniatures for over 35 years.
That was the intent. With any plastic it’s easy to avoid breakage - it’s plastic.
This soft rubbery crud they appear to be using here is the lowest end of the scale material.
And they’re asking a premium price for it.
If I can’t paint the stuff, or there isn’t much point due to the material, the value proposition drops off a cliff.
At least paying a premium I get a higher value for time vs dollars spent because of the painting time commitment.
Without that, it’s just another dungeon crawler flooding the already crowded genre. Only with shoddy plastic for their models.
Then you need to cancel that order right away!

Casual gaming, mostly solo-coop these days.

Is the minature provided to testers even the final product? I doubt it..
If they plan for a full production run in these.. it is substantially cheaper for them to make HIPS..or injected plastic moulds for larger runs.....
Regardless there is no way this is hitting 4 million... maybe 3.4million.... they might give us the 3.6 million stretch goal if we get close tops..
I’m going to pledge for it in 2 days.. it’s a good box game at a decent price for the amount of stuff.. I would prefer to hit the 4million mark though..

It looks a lot like the rubbery quality of the minis provided in the europe produced parker dungeons and dragons fantasy adventure boardgame.
This was the only thing that hasbro SHOULDNT have emulated from that game.
So, i think there is an above average chance that this is final production quality. Not just because of game production precedence, but also because this is what was sent out to reviewers to show off.
Why would a muliti billion dollar corporation send out samples to reviewers to show off if they were not final production quality?
Thats really a shame if true, since that was the only negative thing about the above mentioned game. Ypu could paint the minis, but their durability is always questionable. I painted mine when i owned the complete set, and many of the minis had paint flaking issues. Significant issues.

Is there confirmation anywhere on what figures (and how many) will be included in the Kellar’s Keep and Return of the Witchlord expansions? Or doe we just have the pictures up on Haslab?

They confirmed the dwarf shown is a factory mini and it does bend as seen in the unboxing vids.
Completely avoided all the EU shipping questions.
On reflection I have better things to do with €180. If it ever gets an EU retail release I might look again with the benefit of product reviews, the mini material concerns me.

I have to say I was surprised that all 3 delivered such a "flat" sounding video. Even accounting for lack of experience and webcams. They didn't really sound enthusiastic or excited or anything really.
Granted it was an FAQ, but honestly if you're going to do a video at least try and make it a little bit exciting/enticing/entertaining otherwise just write it out
The model material is what forced me to drop my pledge.
Those minis aren’t worth the premium price they’re asking, and will be more trouble to paint due to the rubbery plastic.
For a multi-billion dollar company they sure cheaped out to try and cash in on the nostalgia.
For such a massive company, they have no idea how to market a premium board game product. When smaller companies can do a better job and provide a better quality product, why would anyone support this?

With just over a day left it’s hit the 3.2million pledge.. which means I’m sure this campaign will get the 3.4 million pledge stretch which are decent... not sure about anyother stretch goals though sad as the dragon would be cool.

You, sir, need to report to a re-education camp immediately to correct the negative tone of your message. You should be GRATEFUL that a billion dollar company is giving you the opportunity to take your money and produce a mediocre product with it in maybe a year or so. Why, if there are too many people with your careless attitude out there, Hasbro might actually have to use some of their own pocket change and a tiny bit of creativity to bring a product to market. We wouldn’t want that, would we? Far better you peons do all the work and take all the risks. We don’t like the idea spreading that Hasbro is morally and creatively bankrupt spreading out there. Expect the black helicopters and agents soon; for now our HasBROS on the message board will chastise you for not being with our grand plans.

I was wondering what that black helicopter was doing buzzing my house.

Nope on the material. I'll put that money into more Nemesis stuff when the pledge manager opens again, and check out the retail release of newold HQ, if it ever gets one.

Im delighted it shot up that high. Was a point when I thought we weren't even hitting 2.6m.
I feel they should have revealed the 3.2 - 4m stretch goals earlier. That middle period was painfully slow-going with the questionable Orc Bard being the big unlock.
The plastic should have been planned to be coloured in the classic Heroquest colours in the first place. Like Wizkids does for the D&D adventure boardgames.
Also they should have done the Q&A earlier because them stating there are 4 European version cards, extra copies of popular items and even some new cards coming with the stretch goal quest books is important info that should have been listed somewhere.
With all that said its good to see Heroquest coming back after 30years. And Im glad to have had a chance to get one in AUS because chances are even if it goes to retail it will probably be right back to US and CAD only.

After some soul-searching, I came to the conclusion that since my US core box, Witch Lord, and Kellar's Keep are complete except two earth spell cards and the minis (my first Warhammer armies), I didn't need this. So, I'm going to use the Monstrous Encounters stuff to rebuild my set and be happy with that. It would have been a nostalgia purchase anyway, and using my original set is way more nostalgic, yeah?

You should, of course, be able to find images of the cards on the 'net. I did a little searching and found this fanmade HQ2 expansion. So, if you're going to print out the replacement cards, might as well add some fanmade ones!
I have such mixed emotions about this; I bought in at Mythic tier (yay, dragon!) last year, right when my gaming group were in the middle of a play through on Tabletop Simulator (because lockdown). So I’m still really stoked to get to play on a real tabletop, but we just lost my best friend, the guy who organised most of our games, to cancer. So playing this without him will be a real bittersweet experience.

Holy crap man, I just hoped in the thread to see what had become of this relaunch. I am very sorry for your loss, that's absolutely terrible. Best of luck to you and his friends and family. My younger sister passed away from cancer and I suppose it goes without say, was a very heart wrenching experience.
