A Free Model Every Month
Yep, you read that right. Free! Every month, you’ll be able to pick up a new model at no cost, themed around one of the month’s releases.
With the epic new Broken Realms narrative arc for Warhammer Age of Sigmar kicking off this month, November’s models are Witch Aelves! Morathi would be proud.
Getting your free model is easy – just stop by your local Warhammer store and ask! Many stores will also be running painting competitions around the month’s free model – even more reason to try your hand at painting something a little different. Best to get to your store early each month – they will only have so many free models to give out.
In summary: New free model in your local Warhammer store every month!
Earn Collectible Coins
Each month there is also a collectible coin, your reward for supporting your local Warhammer store. Sticking to the Broken Realms: Morathi theme, this beauty is the first one for your collection:
There’ll be a new coin to collect each month and will include iconic symbols from Warhammer Age of Sigmar and Warhammer 40,000, starting with Daughters of Khaine for November.
The thing about coin collections is that they look way better in a nice display! So, after you’ve collected six different coins, you can claim a gorgeous booklet to show off your Warhammer coin collection to the world.
Each month, you can claim your coin with a qualifying spend of £60, €80 or $100 – easily covered by a Combat Patrol, or a Start Collecting! set and some paints.
Speaking of paints…
Pick ‘N’ Mix Paint Set – Get a Pot Free!
Need to stock up on paints? Want to have complete control over the paints you choose? Want us to chuck a free one in? We’ve got you!
Choose any ten pots from the Citadel Colour range, and you’ll get the most expensive one free! Whether you’re looking for loads of Contrast to get your new models Battle Ready, want some Layer and Shade paints to take them to the next level, or are after Technical paints for those finishing touches, you’ll be able to select exactly the colours you need.
All this starts from Saturday 7th November: brace yourself!
To locate your local Warhammer store and start enjoying these new offers, be sure to check out our handy Store Finder.
Download button
But I’m on Lockdown
Yep, us too!
We know there are a bunch of you unable to shop in stores right now due to local restrictions. Don’t worry – your local Warhammer stores will get all this great stuff as soon as it’s safe for them to reopen. And you needn’t worry about missing out on the collectable coins either. Let’s say for example that your local store is closed this month and is reopening next month. Well, when you pop down there will be two coins on the offing – this month’s and the next. If your store is closed for longer, then all of the coins over that period will be ready and waiting for you.
Every Warhammer store will get the opportunity to get every collectible coin!
As ever, the best way to stay up to date on what’s happening at your local store and with the Warhammer hobby at large, is to sign up to our newsletter.

wonder if these will be the same coins as WHW did, or if they'll still have exclusive ones?

$%"%" ! "$^"@£!@ !%!^%!"%
*insert much more swearing*
What about those of us who are outright avoiding shops even when they are open. The model sounds neat, though if that one on show is the "free model" then its just a regular witch aelf so it sounds like stores are just giving away one model from a pack. So the store managers have a pain of snipping parts off a sprue.
The coins though do interest me! But the £60 min spend to get one means that they won't be something the "hobby loot group" can easily help with.
The paints deal I can see being popular since 3rd party savings will likely get covered by the free pot and its the most expensive that's free, not the cheapest.

Presumably this was planned and the shipping sent out before an England lockdown looked to be on the cards - the turn around to this recent spike was relatively quick-ish. Also most of the world still isn't locked down and those which are will only be for a few weeks to a month, so trailing the promotion a month or so behind another country isn't that big a deal.

Hurts LFGS' and other independents at a time they're already massively struggling. GW's making enough money they can take the hit to physical retail - and they've always been loss leaders to get people into the hobby long-term anyway. Excited to see how the GW Defence Force can make this into the most generous thing ever and tell us GW are amazing some more.

B) the article states the freebies will be available once lockdown lifts

I’m in for the coins, 100%. Got all of the similar stuff GW have produced so far.
Need to suss out if it’s one per customer, or one per £60 spend? Because rooty-toot-toot my own trumpet, I can easily fit in £120 of Hobby Spend each month. Oh. That’s easy.
In my area? What FLGS?? There isn’t one. At all. Not for miles and miles. Or I can just waddle by buns up the Evil Hill to the top of town, and fling cash at my local GW.
Is it the most generous thing ever? No. Because that’s hyperbole. And you brimming’ well know it, young man. But as a reason for me to support my local GW? I’m in.

Its neither. Its a fairly low key sales ploy to increase foot traffic.
Its the definition of not a big deal, unless you think a grocery store offering free samples and 'buy 10 get 1 free' is some sort of morality play.

Never underestimate the power of a free model. I took my friend to my FLGS during the 4th of July, since they were giving away free Liberators in the US. He sat down, painted it, and then the following week, he bought $600+ worth of Warhammer models.
His parents still hate me.

In terms of getting the monthly coins, the article explains they will be available once the stores reopen (although it doesn't say whether you get both, have to spend double, or make multiple purchases).
In terms of how they thought this was a great idea to organize during a pandemic, no idea. Sure, the English lockdown may have been announced after this plan was drawn up and halfway executed, but the pandemic has been going for a while now. This doesn't feel like the time to recommend people to regularly visit your stores.

“Tat” is British slang for cheap, poor quality stuff, usually without a function. Think ornaments or things you find in gift shops for tourists.
It’s also slang for a tattoo, so context is important

Tat is just a British English word for worthless, low quality goods. I'm talking specifically about the coin collection. The free model is obviously just a free model and the paint discount is a paint discount. The coin collection, imo, is some sort of junk that I personally would prefer to put in a bin than a drawer if I happened to get it free.

Thanks all for the edumacation.. I was thinking of it like a lousy product, as a shortened version of "In tatters" being ragged or worthless, which it probably is.
My daughter does use "tat" as shorthand for her next tattoo..

Tis a shame, I don`t have an official Warhammer store nearby. I like Witch Elves.
The paint things is at least a 10% discount, which is even better news for those close by GW.
Couldn`t care less about the coins, looks like the same junk to me as pins, funko pop or crap out of LootCrates.
All in all, good news.
As to boo-hoos about a free mini being the ultimate end of LFGS in the time of COVID - well, if a free mini from a neighboring store pushes the business into the coffin - maybe it should be there anyway.
