Maybe these will be another killteam faction with codex rules more akin to grenadiers than stormtroopers. Less drop troop/special forces, more heavy infantry/hold the line types. It’s definitely kasrkin.

The tank, Kasrkin, veteran Cadians, and HQs were things we "knew".

The Sentinel is the Big Surprise. Assumption is that it's adding a new sprue with some additional crew bits and weapon options.

Rogal Dorn seems like a much more suitable Primarch to name a tank after than Russ!

Guess it opens the door up to future variants named after each of them. Maybe a Sanguinius-class aircraft?

It's called the Russ because the SW found the STC for it.

Don't know why we need a new Sentinel though. What's wrong with the current one? It took all four varieties of Sentinel (vanilla, Catachan, Armoured/Cadian, Enclosed/Steel Legion) and combined them into a single kit and added Plasma Cannons and Missile Launchers as options.

This would be fantastic! I have a strong feeling it will be Ynnari or another Marine Box….mostly likely Marines…because they really don’t have enough. Another chance is that it’s the Nids box getting announced ahead of the book that is coming soon.

Yeah, of all the Guard kits, the Sentinal is one of the few that really doesn't need an update.

Just like the Leman Russ, I hope the Dorn tank have no visual link to the Imperial Fist.

But I want to see a conversion of a giant, metallic/mechanized, tank-sized handlebar mustache on it though

I think I just threw up a little. Also, considering GWs latest Tank designs, it dreads me to think how that tank will look like.

You know it's not going to technically be an update, right, just an overlapping new unit that makes the old one obsolete. See Mek Gunz vs Big Gunz.

It could also be a fact that the Sentinel is too cheap and GW wants to avoid just pricehiking it so they throw in an additional sprue for some cents and hike the price that way and sell it as new and improved tm.

It's possible the new Sentinel kit is linked to the "2 new regiments thing" that's been mentioned. It is odd that it needs redoing, maybe they're just updating it because it's an older kit?

This is not a rumor, just me musing, but I wonder what's the likelihood that one of the elite regiments is Elysians and the redone Sentinel has the Drop Sentinel upgrades in it

Extremely small as there has been no mention of Elysians...but there is a chance that it's adding another sprue's worth of equipment and pilot bits to the kit. Someone else mentioned the Sentinel Powerlifter--and that might not be a bad shout, opening up the kit for use in the upcoming Ash Wastes stuff for Necromunda.

If I had to make a bet? I would say it's to add the Jump Sentinel in--something out of the old Visions of Heresy books that the Imperial Army had. Standard Sentinels but with limited jump capacity.

There had been dozens of stories about secret tests of SM upgrades (like the Homo Sapiens Novus story, or all Cursed Founding lore, or hints about chapters having abnormal primaris-like traits, like Sons of Antaeus, or old stuff like Raven Guard Raptors, or [insert 50 more examples]), but yeah, sure, it's a ""retcon"" and ""no one"" noticed

It's funny, but somehow every single post whining about primaris lore shows complete ignorance of both actual primaris lore, and of 40k lore before it, and can be summed as "GW doesn't adhere to my fanfiction"...

Yeah, Corax doesn't exist, Bile's New Men or upgraded CSM from actual tabletop rules don't either, Mechanicus sure as hell never did Cursed Founding or sponsored Homo Sapiens Novus tests, or [insert 50 more examples].

I dont buy that the tank is named the Rogal Dorn, mainly because its Valrak and it sounds way too convenient for that to be true coming from him.k is n

I'm in agreement that the name feels way too convenient, but we do know there's a tank from that big leaked list--same with the Cadian Veterans and Kasrkin.
