Renegade Studios, the company behind the Power Rangers game are running their Renegade games Virtual Con, and showcasing a robust schedule of products for both G.I. Joe and TRANSFORMERS. You will know Renegade from the Kids on Bikes and Vampire the Masqurade RPG's.

The figures look like they are going to be 3D rendered Plesin, and there are some stand alone board games with more figures for the selection. As there is too much for me to get into, and that I've been on Preorder for the G.I. Joe game since Christ was a Private, I'll point you at a couple of vids, and Renegade themselves.

Of particular note, is the How to Paint video.

TRANSFORMERS tabletop RPG announcement.

https://www.twitch.tv/videos/1416591102

As a reach out to all 3d party mini designers, I'm sure that players wouldn't mind some squaddies and modern Special Ops operators to add to the game.

The Power Rangers games are available, and if the other two games are as solid, You'll hear more from them in the future.

Thanks for the information and links.

So far they have released or planned for RPGs, tabletop (board) games, miniatures, and card games.

Any chance in the future for a Tabletop Miniature game, for either GI Joe or Transformers?

That is what I'm really hoping for.

Oh man, gonna need to watch those when I get home, skipped around the video a bit and saw these magnificent babies. I've been waiting for GI Joe minis ever since Wizkids announced the Transformers and My Little Pony Deep Cuts figs, and I've wanted them ever since the first Heroclix stuff came out. I don't own any of the Power Rangers stuff, but I've seen enough of them online to be stoked about these

Kind of stunning how long it took to get a GI Joe or Transformers minis/RPG game.

I have the Wizkids Deep Cuts, which are decent but the scale is a mess w the cartoon and they have somehow only released like 6 in 2 years.

Stoked for everything G.I.Joe. let's hope the game will also be good, although the minis are of course the main attraction.
Guess I can send my conversions into retirement then.

That's great, because one issue I'm having is the serious lack of Vipers and Cobra mooks.

Is the RPG a D20 ala D&D or something different?

People who have received the GiJoe RPG book are talking about how the rules reference Arashikage and Ninjas but there's no actual rules for Arashikage/ninjas.

That is completely in line with what I have heard about the Power Rangers RPG; namely, that it is lacking in basic elements necessary for running a game, much less those extra layers of options that demonstrate knowledge of/love for the license.

Yeah, but when you have the choice between mostly generic characters and the actual characters from the IP, it really doesn't compare.

Also, pretty sure Bot Wars has GIJoe, Cobra, and M.A.S.K. as factions.

"All the figures are 48mm tall"

Fething really? Ugh. Worthless for gaming with other figure lines and terrain. Way too big even for Crisis Protocol, too small to mix with 1/35 or 54mm terrain and vehicles. There goes a huge amount of the excitement I had. Game had better be really good as a stand alone product. Man, what a stupid design decision! Kills every cross-sale they could have had

Figures are ok. 48mm is pretty big. 1/48 scale to have compatibility with tons of model kits seems like it would have been a better idea.

Oh well. Guess I'll keep making my own stuff.

Disappointing to hear about the lack of details apparently in some of their RPGs. It frankly reminds me of Shadowrun's long standing issues with regard to rules and editing unfortuantely.

I wonder if the Transformers game will be set on Earth or Cybertron. I could see some balance issues with the former assuming they're open to a variety of characters (humans and robots namely). Unless the headmasters make a return... ugh...

I had hoped that idea had remained in the bowels of the 1980's like the Transformers line that didn't, you know, transform.

Looking at the renders, the details are pretty shallow so that size is probably the smallest they could do them without losing detail.

Well, that sounds just great. And it's basically a 5e game too? Well then.

Good thing the collecting community and Hasbro disagree with you.

Yeah, that's why everyone in the toy community is clamoring and nostalgic for the short lived cisformers and headmasters lines and not those pesky transforming G1 figs updated to modern standards.

I for one am glad we're getting this game - both an RPG and a tabletop battle game. It's one of those things - "why didn't they do this years ago?"

I don't really need the minis - I've got plenty of the old action figures, though I did have to buy them all over again...

It never ends well

Don't get me wrong. I like the idea of folks finally getting this and also am surprised that it hasn't been done before. I don't see myself getting for a campaign but I could definitely see myself playing it as a one shot at a con for example (assuming I ever go to one again).

Actually, most collectors were asking for updated Head Masters characters and are still clamoring for the Headmaster Jr's. Hell, Fangry's aftermarket price is testament to how many people want upgraded Headmasters. A huge portion are also sick of the same 5 G1 characters in every line.

Ugh... can companies please stop gaking the bed re scale? The 3.74" Joes are only double that. Having them be that big makes getting terrain a bigger PITA, makes vehicles less feasible, etc.

In a time where so many companies make great looking board game minis in 28mm, which sell like hot cake as many people only buy the game for the minis... whoever decided to make these in a non compatible size with anything else... doesn't want to sell many units I suppose?

Even if the target audience is nostalgic people that also like boardgames, this is incomprehensible...

Well, at least Prodos didn't manage to snatch the IP, so it could have been worse.
