Either they're being squatted (which, in the topsy turvy world of GW and its apologists/shills, would make sense) or they're just going to use the Blackstone kit for that.

The biggest indicator someone is a loser is them complaining about 3d printers or piracy. |

Immortals, Pariahs, and Flayed Ones had a sentience to them--which they still retain. Along with the Deathmarks, Lychguard, and Praetorians.
The army doesn't seem like a good fit for Kill Team if it is meant to draw its team and specialists from the same unit rather than including one or two of the wide variety of specialist units to get certain jobs done.
I mean, it seems like a fine fit if they opt for Deathmarks as the route to go for.
They're independent of the various dynasties, they have a level of sentience, and they're known for being underhanded jerks.

Now I'm wondering how GW is going to do Necron specialists. Novitiates looked weird enough as special equipment/role Sister cosplayers. Which, of course, won't stop GW.
I feel like maybe what would make the most sense for a Necron Killteam would perhaps be a Cryptek with his own little retinue of weird and wonderful Canoptek creatures. Also would be delighted to see that as they're my fave bits of the Necrons.
I was about to post exactly the same thing heh.
There's a rumour engine pic from last year that could very easily be some flavour of Cryptek, with a similar 'pixelated' effect as the Psychomancer model:
Hmm, yeah. For a Canoptek menagerie we'd need a full new kit though, and as Starfarer rightly points out, that's the less likely option going off the two player sets we've seen for Kill Team so far. Both boxed sets after the launch box (and derived starter box) have been a new team plus an old squad plus upgrade sprue.
So while certainly a cool idea, I'm wondering if we won't see an upgrade sprue for Warriors instead. The new Warriors still have separate arms and heads, and a Cryptek builds on the Arrior frame, so you could easily have at least one Cryptek on the sprue for a specialist. You could possibly make a Flayed One as well with upgrade bits. After that, I don't know. At that point we'd be departing from what Warrior bodies historically built. Which is what got me to wonder in the first place, if GW is willing to go that route.
I will make the spicy take. Necrons get a new unit and space marines get the upgrade sprue.
Necrons see the return of Pariahs, a sorely missed and arguably necessary unit in today's psyker 40k. And space marines get a upgraded intercessor box that includes all the sargeant options that didn't exist when the unit came out and some new underslung bolter options to give some special weapon options to the squad while still retaining its original design.
Spicy take.

I think if Necrons are showing up, they'll be the one getting an "upgrade frame" that is for Immortals/Deathmarks.

That would make them the first dual kit killteam. Which would be interesting.

I'm not sure what their current status is in the fluff since Primaris arrived, but a bunch of Intercessors along with an upgrade sprue should work and give a marine unit that potentially all imperial players can include in 40k too.

We have the Traitor Guard silhouette in the Warhammer Fest picture, and Traitor Guard has been absent from the 40k preview. As has been said before, we should assume that they show as one of the Kill Teams on Friday, so the real question is who the other Kill Team is. There's no room for both Marines and Necrons unless GW changes the way they release Kill Team(s). Sure they have. Phobos Marines and the newer style Chaos Marines were 100% new in their box, and that wasn't the start of a new edition for 40k. Again, GW's inconsistency is their only consistency. You can't look at past performance and try to put it forth as a pattern. You're just as likely to be wrong as you are correct.

Well the rumor guy that seems to know everything said to start expecting marine codex 2 around this time so I suspect one half will be marines.
It would be like GW to put necrons on the cover of the new warzone season, make them the themed bad guy and just do nothing for them.
I guess we could see a plastic Trayzn seeing as Creed seems to be free.

Notably that's the warzone ( 40k), not the killzone ( KT). I know we want to read that as a hint of what the Kill Team release has to offer, but it may very well be just as you say with Marines taking the spotlight in Kill Team and Necrons nowhere in to be seen (or quite possibly getting a White Dwarf treatment instead of a model release).

We don't know that though. Traitor Guard may have greater access to special weapons, or a more expansive variety of weapons. Not to mention specialists (as it would be a KT box). Hell, a Heavy Weapon trooper/team could be right on the sprue, as GW doesn't have to mirror the current setup of the Cadian/Catachan sprues.
Right now Cultists are Autopistol/Hand Weapon. I suspect there will be an Autogun variant, but the two aren't the same.
They did mention autoguns for cultists during the stream (though... given they waffled on base sizes again (for the DP this time), they don't come across as all that knowledgeable).
My issue is the differences are minor, and any gear differences are 100% GW deliberately deciding to make them different (this time), particularly for specials/heavies.
As for specialists, its weird. The KT specialists for Krieg don't actually matter much for 40k. They have the same special weapons, voxes, etc as normal guard. And you can get a command squad and advisors out of it if you try, but as an infantry squad, its...a guard squad box, same as any other.
---
Now they might well do it (between rumors and silhouettes, I'll admit its more likely), just for me personally, its a pointless overlap that seems entirely unnecessary. Especially for an adjunct unit in Codex CSM that's historically been treated really poorly (and has weird limits in other chaos books so far). Cultists are getting a lot of support already this time, and more of the same 'but slightly different' is a weird direction. It'd be much less so if they got their own book, but as is, it feels like an odd mishmash of competing directions.

If it were a Warhammer+ mini, it would have been shown yesterday. Same with if it were an event mini. Remember that there's not a Black Library/Media portion this year like we had last year. We just have Skirmish Games on Friday and Horus Heresy to go, once AoS finishes today.

Even spicier: Marines get the upgrade kit, but it's to the new HH Beakies, to give them all the options to make a 40K Tactical Squad.
I don't even slightly think there's a chance of this happening, but it's what I'd *want* to happen. Throw in Canoptek Menagerie and I'd buy at least two.

New cultists are going to be some horrid wargear abomination of like, 3 ccw/auto pistol, 2 dual ccw, 2 autogun, leader special “necromantic sword of doom” that’s the exact same as the rest of the ccw, one autogun, then a flamer.

Well, no. They're not. Look at the pics- they're ALL (10/10) pistol and CCW. Autopistols, specifically, with a bolt pistol sneaking in on the guy with 'real horns' and a veil.
Andy also claimed they had autoguns, but we didn't see that. And that they're monopose. I can't spot a lot of obvious arm joins (there is one really visible one (with the machete like blade overhead), and a couple likely ones, but that's it) and a lot of the body postures are wrong for the typical two handed rifle poses that GW uses.
I'm actually more worried that they don't get any special weapons at all.

Ok, almost 10m from the start of the AoS thing.
I'll be honest, I'm not an AoS fan. I tend to farm Age of Sigmar miniatures for things that will be useful in Warhammer Quest or the 40k RPGs.
I have no expectations beyond "something related to Tree Elves", although knowing my luck they'll announce some killer new Ogre models right after I bought a box of Bulls and Ironguts.

It could be that the poses are actually variable based upon what arms are being used like the new Ork Boyz, who have bits of musculature missing from the torso that is then covered up by armor plates.
I'm actually more worried that they don't get any special weapons at all.
Would that be such a bad thing if renegade Guardsmen are truly actually happening?
It puts Cultists as a Conscript equivalent, then Guardsmen as the real "troops".
