I didn't know the HH version had the fully detailed interior though! I've mostly gone off the LI scale one - again its not that its a bad model its just not as "big artillery" as the 40K style (That shield does a lot of work)
Couldn't you just leave the enclosure off the HH one?
A nd if you really want a shield those are easy enough to source.

Ah. Never having seen one in person nor paid much attention to it since I already own plenty of 40k ones....

The gun shield was such a loss, particularly at the LI scale, it gave them so much extra character and a visual signature in the army.

The sergeant at least has had a power sword since the oooooooold old days, and in 30k in particular, power weapons have been their default loadout since day one. So I don't see anything weird there.

Sarge with Power Sword is normal.
But as a just about pre-2nd Ed kid (1st Ed Space Hulk)? Terminators without Power Fists just feel weedy. Even into 2nd Ed’s Codex Chaos.
Unless it’s a Lightning Claw, obvs. Which was a Powerfist with blades on.

I don’t care either way, I just want the breacher squads.
My personal wish-list is new plastic Tartaros, updated Mk IV, destroyer squads (could be combined with the Mk IV), and a whole bunch more plastic upgrade frames to make Seekers and Recon and so on.

Seeing the cataphracti again I like the shoulderpads, they seem like humanoid shoulders and arms can actually fit in them instead of the hunchback old sculpt. The waist is still too thin looking.
I need another leviathan like I need another hole in my head though.

The cataphractii weapons coming moulded to the arms (except the Sergeant's) is a major disappointment. Those huge vambraces won't be easy to get a clean cut on.

The new cataphractii proportions seem weird to me like they do to many others. Why do they have an hourglass figure if they’re supposed to be the most heavily armored infantry in existence (except now saturnines)

I don't know why, but if you look at the waist, the new Cataphractii show the soft undersuit beneath, while the old Cataphractii instead had a second recessed armour plate which the main breastplate sat over and covered the top of.
The new design undeniably is more mobile, but it feels counter to what Cataphractii are, being completely focused on protection at the cost of mobility.
Edit: Or maybe the new ones have that plate too, now that I check some other angles? Then why are they so thin?!

Power fists, smower fists. But where are the chainfists? Do these models honestly not contain the bits for chainfists? That's the most obvious "Terminators only" weapon option. Like, yuck.

I had reservations about the new Cataphractii initially, but now I'm 'all in' - I think they look pretty good. The narrower waist accentuates their height.
I do agree that the inclusion of the Leviathan in the boxed set is a bit of a dud.

They say there's one chainfist in the kit that comes with the flamer
I am interested in making MKVI breachers from the upcoming upgrade sprue. I wonder if the spare arms that come with the Heavy Weapons kits would work for this? The arms that come in the upg. sprue look too "medieval" for my sensibilities. Also need to cut out those larger cylindircal mags and retrofit em to my resin umbra bolters, hope there is an easy cutting point on the weapon..

Not if you want the guns poking through the shields, no. That pose is hyperspecific, no other arms will work and, as you've noticed, the kit only comes with Mk3-specific arms. You'd be better off finding a 3rd party upgrade set.

It looks as though the drum magazines can be removed fairly easily - they seem to sit entirely below the weapon.

I see. Fortunately, I still have some resin MKVI arms, so with some reworking with hot water and a bit of cutting, should still be doable. How many I'll be able to do however will depend on my bitz box.. Ah, very unfortunate, that resin Breacher upgrade kit I bought when HH 2.0 was on its second year seems to be OOP already, that means I will only be able to make a couple, rest of em will have to make do with plastic arms, unless I splurge on another "Armoury of the Blood Angels" kit..
Maybe I'll just do a 5-man breacher squad, with one sarge and one lascutter (doesn't matter if such a thing is legal in HH3 as I'm not playing it). Always wanted a Beakie breacher squad, ever since reading the lore bit on Rogue Trader rulebook pg 255:
"Space Marine assault squads are equipped with hand-to-hand combat weapons such as chainswords, power-swords and bolt-pistols. Entry into buildings, or through the reinforced hulls of spacecraft, is gained using a las-cutter or phase-field generator. As the first wave of attackers goes through, casualties are always very high. The first troopers into the breach are almost inevitably shot dead instantly. Inclusion in an assault squad is a great honour. There is never any shortage of volunteers for suicide missions such as this. Survivors of assault squads are entitled to wear the special badge, are excused certain menial duties, and are likely to gain rapid promotion."

The power mauls don't do it for me, but I think power axes look cool on terminators.

These power mauls are pretty weedy (like most of the new kit) but there's cool mauls out there, for example topped with a censer like the DA Mace of Absolution, or the power baseball bat from the ravenwing frame.

GW nowadays also seems to be really a fan of units in multiples of 3.
Practically every Space Marine unit out there used to be in multiples of 5, even elites. But 40k is now full of 3-man units (Eradicators, Eliminators, Bladeguard, Victrix, Suppressors, Aggressors, Inceptors, Headtakers, Sanguinary Guard, Inner Circle Companions, Outriders, and so on...).
Now it seems 30k is edging into it too, first with the Saturnines (who are min unit size 3) and now Cataphractii (who are sold in 6s and max unit size 12, though thankfully unlike in 40k the old min unit size of 5 was retained - my Raveners are green with envy).
