Always sceptical of 4chan, just on sheer principle.

I'd be kind of amazed if the Custodes reveal doesn't include a plastic Caladius tbh, given it's very obvious at this point that getting rid of resin tanks is SGS's biggest priority.

(I'd be pretty surprised if there were any tanks smaller than the Mastodon with a plastic chassis by the end of 2026 tbh.)

As I guessed in another thread on the reveal: Adeptus Mechanicus. No bets if its new units or just new plastic kits of existing resin.

SPEAKING of resin, this brings up another question: What about every factions special units? Everything is getting sized-up sculpts, making all the resin Dawnbreakers, Night Raptors, etc look tiny. I think the last new resin sculpt was BA Aster Crohne and the Black Shields (now playing near you!). I believe only a few legions on the New Sized Mk 6 praetor, and that was a long time ago.

Have we heard anything about the future of resin HH?

Necromunda is getting HIPS hangers-on, so I think the future of any new resin releases is damn grim.

At this point I'd be less surprised to see a Legion upgrade sprue than another resin bits pack. Of course, I also expect to die of pure frustration when legion sprues come out one every 3-6 months and they quit after doing 11 of them.

They did a show a while back saying they want to but they need the ground work units all sorted and out of resin first. So it'll be coming, but maybe not this edition was my understanding.

The list of units still waiting for plastics is indeed still long enough to last us the next 2.5 years

However 3.0 is a DLC edition so new stuff can also easily be added, and there is also some hope that it will be a longer lasting edition (but if not, the Legacy issues are just going to get worse and worse as all Journal content with no bespoke models is also legacy'd on every reset)

And even in 2.0 they added the light and heavy sentinel and Fulgrim Transfigured mid-edition, at least.

Purely selfish note as I’m not fond of 28mm fliers? Xiphon, Storm Eagle and Fire Raptor I hope to be a lower priority.

I don't think they'll wait to do all vanilla units before moving onto legion specific, though I hope they still go through things at a reasonable cadence. Valrak has said a new Abaddon & Justaerin are coming and I wouldn't be surprised to see them this year

I was against fliers in 28mm scale since day 1, but if they're in the book, they should be plastic, an annoying unit is even worse if only rich gits can afford the resin model.

Honestly it's a travesty they updated the Cataphractii before the Javelin and Spatha bikes. The catas were already plastic, that alone should have shunted them miles down the queue!

I seem to be in the minority that welcomes the new Cataphractii. I think the point is that they are mainstays of Heresy lists, and GW gave priority to upscaling them so they are consistent with the newer Heresy Marines. Hopefully it was also done so they could start producing upgrade kits to deck out specialist Cataphractii units.

That said, while I don't think flyers need to be plasticised any time soon, I would love to see the Javelin, Sabre and remaining Sicaran variants in plastic sooner rather than later.

I am in the same boat (or burrowing vehicle!), £100+ is too much.

Plastic Xiphon? Only after plastic Thunderhawk, thanks. These are both collector pieces, not really pieces one games with regularly IMHO. For collectors however, you kind of want both (you need a couple Xiphons to escort your T-Hawk innit)

Going for the Termite, the best alternative is still the Mantic Veer-Myn Tunneler as it is about the same size and comes in plastic (so easy to modify or magnetise)
and you get a box of 3 for £80 (ignore the optional resin upgrade) or single one for £30

Terminators were always better scaled than the power armour they traditionally released alongside. The old Catas don't look bad at all next to the new power armour, their foot-to-eye height is very similar accounting for pose.

The new unit coming in a smaller size for what you pay, with hand not separated from the wrist which makes kitbashing much harder, and with much fewer weapons options per box, makes it feel like something of a poisoned chalice.

I'd really rather just have the Javelin or bikes. Judging by the Scimitars (who are the in-between), it's hard to mess that one up.

Thank you - yes I have one of these for my 2nd ed. Squat army. They are a great mini, I thought the style looked a bit too different but actually in the comparison photo on B&C they are very similarly scaled.
