I recommend Las Vegas. There's so much to do and so much good food. Been there a few times, and never even gambled in the casinos once and still had a great time.

I play:
40K: Daemons, Tau
AoS: Blades of Khorne, Disciples of Tzeentch
Warmachine: Convergence of Cyriss
Infinity: Haqqislam, Tohaa
Malifaux: Bayou
Star Wars Legion: Republic & Separatists

You want a great holiday?

Straits of Mackinac, between Michigan's Upper and Lower peninsulas.

The climate is cool and breezy and the scenery is epic. It's relative inexpensive, safe, and you've got lots of places to see, including two forts. Mackinac Island famously has no cars allowed on it, so it is a biking paradise. I live downstate, but try to get up there every year because it is so beautiful.

Want a better way to do fantasy/historical miniatures battles?  Try Conqueror: Fields of Victory.

Do you like Star Wars but find the prequels and sequels disappointing?  Man of Destiny is the book series for you.

Is that the joint that's across the water from Camp Grayling?

No.

Grayling is an hour south of the Straits.

On the south side you have Mackinaw City (note the spelling) and on the north St. Ignace, Michigan's oldest settlement. There's a reconstructed stockade fort on the southern shore (Michilimackinac) and Fort Mackinac is on the island and overlooks the whole area. Stay on the St. Ignace side, as the hotels are better, less crowded and the ferry tickets to the island are cheaper.

I would recommend New York and Las Vegas, both are worth visiting. We were recently, we organized everything https://www.westgateresorts.com/vacation-packages/ and we had a great time.

Is Las Vegas still fun? I went there several times in my 20’s and it was as crazy as we could hope for, but the last couple times we’d been there it seemed like everything had been cleaned up and closed before midnight.

Not sure I fancy Vegas. I don’t like being crowded (not busy, crowded). And I used to be a right one for the Fruity in the pub, so there is a worry I might go a bit Radio Rental on the bandits. Also, career experience has made me very, very wary of gambling as a whole.

Also? Pasty Scots Git and a Desert probably shouldn’t mix!

I am however actively planning a trip to Tokyo. As I should be head and shoulders above most other folk there, the crowding thing is less of an issue. Provided it’s not raining, as brollies, held by someone of short to average stature, almost always means the spokes are eye level with me. No that’s not fun.

If it was still fun, why would so many corporate events happen there?

Absolutely not.

Less I be fried to a crisp by the merciless sun.

Also, not currently keen on visiting America for reasons we don’t discuss on Dakka.

If you want weird but not the sun, there’s always San Francisco, New York’s kinky cousin. SF was also the seat of power to America’s emperor.

Vancouver, then? That’s where they film the America you see on TV. Also, the alien planets.

San Fran could be fun I guess.

I’m terribly boring and vanilla in that context, but I do like my counter culture.

If you ever want to see something amazing. There is a national park in the US that's only open 2 days a year: The Trinity Site.

You can have the Oppenheimer vacation of your dreams... as long as your dreams occur on the 1st Saturdays of April and October.

Have booked New York. Late April, flying back early May.

Looking forward to some tourism, Crab House, and rinsing Dave and Busters again. Also gonna do Coney Island this time. Try a Nathan’s or four.

I should hope I do 😂

Aiming to do the Statue of Liberty this time. Had a boat tour booked last time, but thunderstorm on the day meant I opted out.

Also, Little Italy, Chinatown and Katy’s Deli.

Well yeah. You should always bring antacids when you travel. And Imodium. And Colace. And probably ibuprofen, acetaminophen and bandaids.

I'm just kidding. The news Stateside is 24/7 Immigration.

Honestly, if you visit the Carnegie Deli, split a sandwich. It is a lot of food.
