Got lucky and shot me an almost complete FW Etched Brass set for Iron Warriors on the 'bay the other week. Arrived yesterday, mulling over all the options. I know the difference is not massive, but that little bit of 3D over decals is just really nice, especially on vehicles.

Going for a siege of terra, first company, templar brethren themed force of Imperial Fists.

Anyone got any suggestions on how to make mk6 Templar Brethren? Or have any pictures of the forgeworld models next to some mk6 for scale comparison?

Dark mech painting and planning the last step for my Alpha legion army.

Probably going to get some lerna because lerna look awesome and are atleast complete modells unlike headhunters

Putting work in to Farith Redloss. Havent touched him in ages as I lost sight of my end goal. Got it back though now.

I made some barrels of dark mech perfectly rational and normal scyllax glow.

Those scyllax look great!

Had to whip up a cataphractii praetor at short notice. Still a bit of greenstuffing to go to neaten up his arm. But he was good enough to throw on the tabletop. It was a bugger making that head fit properly though.






Also been working on a fun concept project. After a discussion with one of the local guys, who wanted to see how much effort you'd need to put in to convert a primaris marine into a MkIV marine, I thought I'd give it a crack.
A fair bit of cutting and scraping involved, but maybe I picked not a great model to use as a test piece.



Probably about 2 hours of work on it so far, which includes more then you see in this picture and still a chunk left to do. Not sure i'd want to do it for a whole army, but if you had a character you wanted to convert up, certainly achievable.

Working on some gore effects mostly, because WE. I don't have much experience with greenstuff (read: I'm fething terrible with it) but I quite like how this head-carrying sergeant turned out.



Also finished building a Leviathan tonight (the cable and missing backpack are present on the finished model). I'm kicking myself for the way I put it together, as I think it'd be much better with the drill lifting someone into the air grinding them up, and the claw pulling another guy apart. So I'll probably use a spare kit I have laying around to make another one so I can position the arms better.

Because I'm insane.

I like seeing these conversions. You guys are braver with greenstuff than I am - I can do fur and cables, and fill gaps in armour and capes, but I back away from sculpting details like this.

morganfreeman - I like the posing on your 2 models. One thing I discovered with the Leviathan is that you have to fill and sand down the joins on the feet or they're really noticable when it's painted.

Snrub - I tried converting a BT Primaris into an HH Dark Angel, but gave up. I think your conversion proves that it can be done.

I can do simple stuff with GS, but nothing too flash. Most of what I do is gap filling and basic shaping to match existing parts. I can't get a smooth surface to save myself and the thought of doing something like a nice smooth cloak or cape gives me the shivers.

Thanks! It's a bit rough. But I can fix that up as I go.
I've got one of the McFarlane big boys to convert next! That should be fun.

One thing I've found that helps is to coat the greenstuffed section in superglue (after it's fully cured, of course). This not only helps to smooth it (and bond it to the surrounding area), but you can then sand it fairly easily to get an even better finish.

No worries, glad to help. However i never got why he had to have the oval base. Granted that^s still better than stair carrying horus. But yeah. Why oval?

Anyways, did make baby magos and magos. Soon i'öö be finished with my small Dark mech project.

Probably creating Alpha legion Hoplite breacher / Veterans, it certainly seems possible to do imo but what are your thoughts?

Wandered into my FLGS. Toddled out with the Legiones Astartes Battle Group box, and I regret nothing!

They have a second copy…which I’m sorely tempted by.

I'm still waiting on FLGS to ping me if they got mine in. I'm a little burned out on printing, would be nice to just build some HIPS Mk3 support squads.

I'm working on a Truescale Iron Warriors army, mostly 3D prints with bodies sourced from Fummelfinger & Tortuga Bay. This is my Praetor & a few Tacticals. I've actually stripped and begun repainting them using stipling techniques to build up texture.

not set on the list yet, but in my head it's a Pride of the Legion list with 3 squads of Veteran Tacticals, a squad of Melee Veterans with shotguns and power mauls in a drill, the Dominator Cohort in a Land Raider Prodeus, a Javelin Speeder Squadron, and Iron Havocs with autocannons bringing up the rear.

I went the lazy route, and used the only primaris bits worth something




imo it's a bit sad that rulewise seeker bolters are that much better than banestrike, whilest headhunters otoh are overly dangerous when you just slap on combi-meltas... alas gw gonna gw from a game perspective that is.

Brought home my two Battlegroups just now.

I was onboard the new style Mk3 but unboxing them now I have to say I'm pretty disgusted with how much detail they've lost. The back side of the legs is an outright crime and I now actively wish they never do Mk2 in plastic if this is their new idea of overlapping plates.
