Easter Monday is perfect for a hidden Easter Egg release, and since the new Screamer Killer' head is a shaped a bit like a (monstrous) egg, could we have a huge surprise today?

I too enjoy seeing two traitor Marines lovingly caressing each other in the grim darkness of the far future. Is there anything better than homoerotic art in glorious shades of grey? I think not!

I could get behind that.

But if GW wanted Easter eggs, they should really show off new Hormagaunts. No idea if it's still in the fluff, but they used to lay eggs back in the day. Shame that they're not likely to go back to the more Xenomorph inspired 2nd ed look, but hey. If the modern take on the Huggyfex is good, at least I'll have that.

That piece of fluff about them laying eggs I think was from 5th edition codex? I also always loved their 2nd edition look so I would not say no to them being closer to it (just like the new Carnifex is closer to its origins). It all depends if they are a dual kit with Termas or not.

I think it was in the 2nd edition book as well, it mentioned that hormagaunts are among the few Tyranid organisms capable of independent reproduction and being some sort of terror weapon / nuisance if not exterminated properly.

Edit: checked it, it's there - Hormagaunts can reproduce independently from the Dominatrix, lay eggs, are dropped in mycetic spores to seed worlds, conduct terror campaigns by instinctually hunting and slaying local fauna.

In AoS the Battleline keyword is on the points sheet. Battleline is also heavily mutable as certain units can get Battleline keyword based off your Warlord.

i hope this mutability comes to 40k. imagine ork blood axes with kommandos as battle line instead of standard boys, or white scars with bikes etc

The objective of the game is to win. The point of the game is to have fun. The two should never be confused.

He's using the Space Wolf/ Blood Angels/ Dark Angels codex since it is "closer to the fluff"

because Lictors are not on units but single models, and those are unit models and because Solo-Lictor and Unit-Lictor does not sound well we get Lictors and leapers

I'd wager they're the alt-build to Lictors maybe? These guys are meant to be smaller and pack hunters without all the sabotage/pheromone junk of the Lictor is what I take from the article.

Probably not when they're in ther starter box - they might function as some sort of 'Lesser Lictor' though, handy for e.g. KillTeam, because unlike Lictors you could have a number of them without breaking the game.

Could always be that Lictors are kept as a "purchased as brood, deployed as individuals" thing, with Von Ryan's Leapers as a potential Battleline option for people wanting to do a Swarmy Vanguard?

Possible, although I would prefer them as an individual with a clampack kit, with maybe few optional bits for a Deathleaper (if it still exists).

I’ll be shocked if Deathleaper still exist when they created a new ‘leaper’ unit.

Reading the article, it seems like Lictors are going solo and these are little cousins that hunt in packs.

Guilliman has "Monster"

The differences in keywords from Guilliman are Faction Keywords: Ultramarines/Dark Angels; their own names as keywords and the Lion has 2 additional keywords: Supreme Commander, Inner Circle

Yeah, iirc their first appearance was in the old-old Sabretooth Games CCG in 2001 or 2002, i posted the card in the nid thread.

Still a "Beast" for 320 pts.

He's not quite as tough as Abbadon, who's wound locked. But with this "forestwalk" ability that is specifically NOT a "deepstrike", he can show up anywhere on the table (9" away from enemy) on turn 1, who also has re-rolls for charges.

He'd absolutely nuke a unit or two on one charge (11 -5ap 4d or 22 -3ap 2d).

No type of reinforcements, without explicit exception, can arrive on the first turn in Matched Play/Grand Tournament missions.

There's only one mission that I'm aware of that prohibits reinforcements on turn one. (I can't recall that misson at the moment).

But, things like Drop pod assaults and Lion's Forrestwalk ability (barring that one mission) should work on turn 1.

I hope those Leapers are a good melee squad. Fast, disruptive and with just enough staying power that they can't be swept off the board by incidental fire. Would be funny if they end up becoming the Tyranid counterpart to Ork Kommandoes.

Probably will have some sort of infiltrate rule and maybe a -1 to hit if they have chameleonic skin. Though they might not have that particular rule.
