Ahriman's lack of a good shooting power could actually be a boon. Presumably he will be cheaper than if he has some super devastating psychic shooting attack. Which is cool because while I was looking at it again I thought about this....

Ahriman leading a 10 man flamer Rubric squad. He gives them +1 to wound, they re-roll 1's to wound (or full if target on objective), so the worst they are wounding is 5+ re-rolling 1's. And while they lost the assault ability (so no advance and shoot) you can use the cabal points to move them twice for a total threat distance of 22". Use Ahriman to remove save if necessary, and let things burn. Unless they really increase points of Ahriman and Rubrics with flamers, that should be a pretty viable tactic.

Once per phase on the cabals.

"Each ritual can only be used once per phase"

So you can't warptime two units but you can warptime and strip saves in the same phase

Well Arhiman and the flamers are the same unit. So you can move normally, then use the power to move again, aka 22" threat range(5"+5"+12" range). The sorcerer can do that, then Ahriman can use his ability to remove the saves if you like. The warcom article says"each ritual can only be used once per phase", so you can use two different rituals in the same phase.

I doubt it, I'm betting their army rule will be the new form of Tides of the Warp. It'll probably a select at the battleround kind of thing though.

Thanks Nev- past couple days they changed the tile at the end, so I just got used to looking at the picture.

They didn't do it today. Didn't even think to read to the end of the article.

GK will be fun. Probably going to paint my Hexfire GKs soon. I want to do an Inquisitor for each Ordo with an escort from their Chamber army.

I am really disappointed that Waaagh is the Army Rule. It seems tailor made for a stratagem, since you use it once. Pay those CP and unleash the Waaagh.

It seems like some version of Mob Rule would have been much more thematic for an Army Rule, as it would come up all the time. I suppose for those Ork players fielding mostly kans, dreads, and other vehicles, Mob Rule would have been disappointing, but having an Army Rule that you get to use once each game is kinda boring, even if the rule itself is good. Doesn't every other Faction have an army rule that can be used from turn one and on every turn?

Considering how many factions have additional rules which directly interact with their faction rule, I'd be shocked if this is all that Waaagh does. Off the top of my head there could be:

Stratagem to make the effect last two turns
Warboss / banner Nob gives the Waaagh effect to his attached unit for an extra turn
Character enhancement allows Waaagh to be used as an aura ability
etc..

I'm hopeful that is the case, I haven't used my banner Nob in sometime.

Waaagh banner giving attached unit an extra waaagh use would make sense, and justify a nice new plastic clampack for it.

But it's such an easy kit to convert. Blackork banner pole plus nob or flashgit. Add in some icons and boom.

GW doesn't want you converting or kitbashing anything. If it's an option, it'll likely be a kit. If there's no kit, it's Legends at best.

Sad but true. Part of why i'm enjoying HH v2 at the moment. You wanna make a silly character? Go nuts.

I think there are plenty of kits which need updating before they touch the perfectly fine banner nob.

7 Ork facts people always get wrong:
Ragnar did not win against Thrakka, but suffered two crushing defeats within a few days of each other.
A lasgun is powerful enough to sever an ork's appendage or head in a single, well aimed shot.
Orks meks have a better understanding of electrics and mechanics than most Tech Priests.
Orks actually do not think that purple makes them harder to see. The joke was made canon by Alex Stewart's Caphias Cain books.
Gharkull Blackfang did not even come close to killing the emperor.
Orks can be corrupted by chaos, but few of them have any interest in what chaos offers.

This. Also do we really need pushfit boy debacle combined with commado datasheet stupidity? Because that is how we will get that.

Kommando Datasheet stupidity ain't goin' no where, and it's far from confined to Kommandos. I imagine it will only get worse this edition.

Perfectly finecast, I think you mean.

A clampack Waagh Banner would be the exact kind of single model release thing GW would do. I mean, sure, I'd rather they do Tankbustas. In fact, I'd rather they do both. And the Weirdboy, while they're at it.

There are plenty of (finecast) characters which are ancient and need updates, tank bustaz need an update, Warboss on Warbike and Bikernobz will soon have no model at all and there are at least three iconic characters from past and current lore: Wazzdakka, Nazdreg and Ol'Zogwort. Not to mention there is a rather strong implication on the rumor engine of Ufthak Blackhawk getting a model.

Last, but not least, despite almost all finecast conversion for Orks being a disaster, the banner nob held up fairly well due to being a fairly new, and thus large, model.

Sorry, but anyone truly and honestly asking for a new banner nob over any of these options is just a complete idiot, rule #1 be damned.

I expect any update to the Nob banner model would just be done alongside a new Nobz kit in general. They'd add it as an option to that unit like the recent Custodes vexilla change. Not betting on it happening any time soon though.

Hopefully that Ufthak model is part of a Black Library / WH+ special release and we get something more generally useful with the new codex, like Tankbustas.

Tank bustas, weird boy, kff mek & banner nob are all likely candidates for a cheeky release this edition.

Regards nobz and warboss bikers, I think they're dead now. Whilst I understand its not the preferred outcome, the deffkilla wartrike is your vehicle mounted leader now. I get that it's not a precise 1:1 of a warboss on bike, but from the second it was released its clear he was mean to be the one leading a speedwaagh.

Nothing against the Wartrike but I vastly prefer the ascetics of the Warboss on the Warbike. I also think we'll see Nob Bikers again in the future, maybe 12th edition

It's also bundled with an expensive vehicle, and it's part of one of the options.

You hardly see people using either anymore though. Most people seem to be using orruk shamans or the Goff Rokka as their Weirdboy or Wurrboy.

Ahriman, one of the greatest sorcerers in the setting, gets a single spell with the profile of a grenade launcher and now has to gather psychics donations for The Church of Change from every other psyker in his army to cast anything else. That’s pretty funny.

Well the once per game for free is also spell. That casts a spell

But yeah would have expected another spell to warscroll like librarians have.

The contrast should be interesting. The divergence between chaos knights and imperial knights gives me some hope that it won't be just evil opposites for the psychic marines.

They seemed to be themed around Deepstrike shenanigans, with abilities keying off their DS arrival. And that odd fly shunt thing. Potentially very powerful on the right tables, but it remains to be seen if that works in practice.
