The toxins might be acidic as well, so that would make a bit more sense.

Aliens style? Maybe. Still I do not see it as being effective against fortifications as mentioned in the article. Also why does it need both harpoons and Flesh Hooks?

No idea, the harpoons are a weird AF choice irrespective imo, some tentacle arms or something for constricting might have been a better fit.

Harpoons for grabbing large targets or possibly climbing, fleshhooks for little things.

You've just highlighted an interesting misconception either I or others have had - do you expect the harpoons to be tethered? Or a fire and forget spear? I sort of assumed the latter and that's why the flesh hooks were still there.

If the harpoons are simply missiles = it has a ranged attack longer than 6-12" than it would make a little more sense.

Not really. If you can punch through its face, then punching through its face more efficient.

A killing blow is always more efficient and effective than a crippling one.

Front armour of IK would be tougher to crack than leg one. Also it is a walker so damaging its leg is rather sound tactic, especially for a quick elimination of danger.

The Assimilator's harpoons are presumably designed for punching through things (like any harpoon), not ripping things. So with such weapon I would still prefer directly attaching the main hull.

Agreed. When I wrote about ripping off leg I did not have specific weapon in mind, simply meant it is an easier target. Although skilled sniper could use even a harpoon for targetting a vulnerable leg joint.

Guessing they forgot to put the points for the dimachereon on there, hopefully doesn’t take them long to rectify it.

A leader without the Leader keyword, no less.

Hm? It's still a solid support character, albeit not as strong (or as many points) as before and is geared to lead a unit. It isnt like Tyranid Prime treatment

Tyranid pre-order reportedly the week after CoS which is the 26th of August so should be the 2nd of September (same source as the AoS rumours who correctly reported this weeks Killteam preorders)

So I've got about 1 month to try and beat the mountain of Gaunts from Levaithan sets!

I finished all the gaunts from my one Levi box, then foolishly picked up 20 more neurogaunts because they were very cheap and I'm some kind of masochist. Time to get painting again...

For that date to happen they basically need to start Tyranid hype on WarCom this week. Even just one article to show off the codex cover would be enough.

Tyranids were my first 40K army so -- I kinda wound up with 4 boxes worth of leviathan kits (seriously its making me consider selling off my half started eldar army).

Barbgaunts were done first - I've just finished all the Nurogaunts; screamer killer, neurothope, primes, psychophage all done.

I just have half the von ryans and then all the termagaunts!

From previously reliable sources on the Tyranid Discord:

Codex release is Sept 9th (preorder on the 2nd)

Genestealers are in set poses however the arms would be easily changeable with minimal green stuffing.
They also have two head options regular/biomorphed and ymgarl (you can make a whole squad of them)

Hormagaunts come with a ripper base and have 14 head options. But frustratingly lots of mould lines.

The norn emmisery is big but only 1 and a half sprues.

Lictors come with 3 options. The main arms are in 5 pieces each.

Neuro lictor is pretty small pose should be same price as parasite

Deathleaper is a lit bigger than expected and on 60mm base

1 lictor per kit

Biovore 30 GBP
Lictor 30 GBP
Neurolictor 25 GBP
Norn Emissary 70 GBP
Stealers 32.50 GBP
Horms 30 GBP

Emissary is a bit of a surprise at £70. Then again it wasn't that long ago that most of those would have been £25 rather than in the £30s

Accepting that these are leaks and prices could be above/below those values of course.

Here I was thinking that the Lictor/Neurolictor/Deathleaper was one kit.

AUD$74 per Biovore sounds like the thing they'd do. Hopefully it doesn't hit the AUD$84-89 price bracket that most "smaller" things get to nower days.

I won't lie, I was quietly hoping hormas might either be a bit cheaper or maybe £40ish for 20.

Sooner or later I'm sure they show up in a discount boxed set, which is why I'm not buying any of the infantry resculpts on release. Got plenty of the old models painted that will be usable so it's not worth paying full price.

Happy to wait and see what Tyranids get for xmas this or next year.

It refers to 3 poses/heads etc. or 3 in game options?

I'll bet they also get a Partworks magazine release at some point as GW seem to like doing them for new editions.
