Prices around the the £30 mark for most things has I was expecting. ETB kits should not be at those prices though.

Oh boy... what a start. This one is awful. And a unit of 2 Carnifexes can never benefit from the second part of the rule. LOL! As if that's worth taking... Assault/Charge Genestealers. Now that's more like it. Now give the Broodlord back his Synapse! ![]() I love the copy from WarCom that accompanies this one: "Just imagine the new Winged Tyranid Prime barrelling towards your opponent’s Warlord with the Chameleonic Enhancement keeping it safe and the Assassin Beasts Stratagem in your pocket." Yes. And then watch as he utterly bounces off whatever you've charged, as the Winged Prime is a joke of a unit. And the Oz prices: Bigger Batman - AUD$190 Biovore - AUD$84 (!!!) Death Leaper - AUD$105 Lictor - AUD$84 Neurolictor - AUD$70 Termagants - AUD$77 ( LOL!) Hormagaunts - AUD$84 (double LOL!) Genestealers - AUD$90 (triple LOL with a cherry on top) Codex - AUD$90 Datacards - AUD$55 (+ your dignity for falling for it again) 'Nid Dice - AUD$50 (over $3 per dice! Bargain! )

Also very interested to get a feel for the new Codex layout and content priority.
It’s well know I didn’t like 9th chucking out a load of background pages, and I can only hope 10th has moved back from that.
Also interested to find out if different war gear will have different costs outside of index rules.

Wargear will not have a cost, we have to accept it will be as AOS. Im afraid that the new cards and detachmentrules will be in the codex only or behind a paywall. So i will have to buy the new cards :(

Well I guess any monster lists will be better off using the Invasion Fleet (the one we have in the index) or any other one beside the dedicated monster detachment That just look so bad from the preview!

Fantasy armies - Retired (Tomb Kings, Vampires, Empire, Chaos Warriors/Daemons, Dark Elves)
Tyranids army - Ever evolving, but about 10k pts

It's +1 to Hit and Wound for ranged or melee attacks, when below starting Wounds on anything that had a starting strength of 1...not seeing how that's a bad thing?
It's right here explaining that a Starting Strength of 1 puts you at "below starting strength" if you have lost wounds:
Below Starting Strength (with a Starting Strength of 1): If the
number of remaining models in a unit is less than that unit’s Starting
Strength, that unit is said to be Below its Starting Strength. If a
unit has a Starting Strength of 1, while that model has less than
its starting number of wounds remaining, it is said to be Below its
Starting Strength
It's not gamebreakingly amazing, but it isn't the worst thing ever.

A unit of Carnifexes literally cannot use half the army rule. It gets even worse with Old One Eye, as as soon as the unit is below half strength, both the 'Fexes are dead, so OOE reverts to Full Strength and loses the first half of the rule as well. As I said: For a Carnifex to benefit from the army rule, you have to take fewer Carnifexes. In an army all about Monsters the only way to get use out of 'Fexes is to take less of them. That makes absolutely no sense. You're better off getting Sustained Hits against Infantry or Lethal Hits against Vehicles. That's a good rule.

It was mostly based on what I had in the stash and Levi, so it's:
Hive Tyrant with Adaptive Biology
Punch/stab Carnifex
Dakka Carnifex
Third Carnifex OR Psychophage, can swap for the same points
Screamer Killer
Tyrannofex
I'm just hoping the Dex doesn't break the tidy points of it before I've gotten to play a game.

You neeeeeed a Haruspex or three in that list. They’re currently a piffling 125 points, and punch well above their weight.
Predominantly suited to tackling squads, its Shovelling Claws provide Extra Attacks which can worry most vehicles and Dreadnoughts.
It’s single shot shooting attack of course isn’t brilliant. But with Precision, it has some chance of gobbling up a pesky character and doing away with their buff(s).
And whilst far from the toughest bug in the Galaxy, it’s resilient enough against all but the biggest hitters, and a squad of such are dicing with death if they engage it in HTH due to the sheer volume of attacks it gets.

I think you shouldn't be expecting them to stay at 125.

If the points do stay the same I could certainly swap one into that third Fex slot, but it wasn't a model I already had in the stash and I also think it's butt-ugly.

Oh I’m not at all. But even up to 150, even 175, I’d still consider them a bargain for their sheer flexibility.

I'm sure they mixed up the Screamer Killer and Haruspex points or something
I've played a bunch of combat patrol games so far, and the Psychophage is just so, so bad at anything offensive, and seeing it's also 125pts I wonder how they do their point cost (picking them up from a hat most likely).

The Psychophage is likely costed against Psykers, where it wounding on 2+ and dealing mortal wounds.

Psychophage should have the "Smokescreen" keyword.
In the game I played I used two of them. They did very little for the first three turns, and then had to step up in the last two turns when one of my Haruspexes and one of my Tyrannofexes went down (and the other Haru was on 2 wounds!).
They're not great, aside from when they attack a unit of Infernus Marines led by a Libby making them all Psykers so Anti-Psyker 2+ kicks into high gear, but they are still big bugs and can hold pretty well. Allowed me to finish off the Grav Captain on my right flank and the Infernus unit holding the centre.
They're probably the first things I'd drop, but they're not awful for their points (unlike, say, the Screamer Killer, which is just a bad choice).

Yeah they are doing fine defensively, but otherwise won't do much of anything itself damage-wise. And me playing combat patrol means psyker are close to non-existent, and they gives no tool to deal with heavier target on the other side like you could expect a medium-large monster to have, just a bit sad really.
I love the model and was a blast to paint at least! Can't wait to build and paint the 2nd one I have

At the start of each battle round, choose an imperative. All Tyranid units within synapse range benefit from this imperative. You cannot choose an imperative more than once per battle. The imperatives are:
+1 to hit in melee
+1 to advance and charge rolls

OOE should revert to his starting strength once his Bodyguard unit dies. That’s the size of his unit when he was added to the roster, isn’t it?
According to ‘Starting Strength and Attached units’ in the App’s rules commentary, they would have an effective Starting Strength of three when merged, but when the two Bodyguards die, OOE reverts to his own SS of 1.

So far I think the Vanguard one looks to be the best 'specialist' detachment, and the Invasion Fleet is a great general purpose one. I think it's still better than that Synaptic Nexus one. We don't have the strats and enhancement so it's not the full picture, but those bonus alone are a bit meh to have once per game.

Strange as it may sound, if I had to choose between wargear having a cost or a return of flexible unit sizes (ie. points per model, not set jumps), I'd choose the latter. Souleater wrote:According to ‘Starting Strength and Attached units’ in the App’s rules commentary, they would have an effective Starting Strength of three when merged, but when the two Bodyguards die, OOE reverts to his own SS of 1.
Correct. Makes it very difficult to use the Crusher Stampede rule with Carnifex units.
