Legions News: LI is part of the preview show scheduled for November 7th.
I wonder what we will get. Saturnine models? Custodes? Fellblades?
I haven't seen any rumors, so there are lots of possibilities.

I predict a new starter set including new rule book, fellblades and custodes as a new faction which was the reason the new starter set was not part of the updated to the rules this summer.

Fellblades and Glaives seem possible.
Always hopeful for a more varied Infantry sprue. And new Dark Mechanicum.
But will also necessarily include a new book in which the rules are presented.

Kinda same, except I think that a new starter will focus more on marines like the full scale HH sets. Sell it as a single cohesive army that can be split into two for demo games, with a token knight or titan unit thrown in the box too. Meanwhile the combat force sets will provide an easy starting point for new SAX & Mech players.
Given that two armiger variants & titan weapons should (in theory) be making the leap from resin to plastic, I do wonder how far this next release will take us away from the Liber Strategia book. Perhaps the new starter has new units (like fellblades), but initially the models & rules are only in that box until they are released separately in 2026. Or maybe the box just has armigers plus some existing kits, so no changes to unit/formation rules are needed until the next wave.

I think a new infantry box for SA would be good - somewhere to put rough riders, light sentinels, heavy weapon teams

The simplest addition would be migrating a few more resin bits to plastic - that would be Armigers and a handful of Titan weapons. That also means they won't immediately outdate the most recent book by adding new units.

That's also possible and would be a welcome way to restore options for those titan models.

...but it would be a lot cooler if they released a box with a sprue containing every primarch. I think that's more likely than the people who want a box with unique units and a primarch for every single legion. It's a niche game, so I doubt GW wants to make 18 new SKUs, but a single one might be fine.

LI has a total lack of HQ and Specialist unit options that give the armies flavor, but it does require a large number of sprues or redundant purchases to fill that out. Really curious to see if they solve that or if LI never gets there.

To be fair? Epic has always kinda lacked them.
2nd Ed at least had, if memory serves, Chaplains, Medics and I think Tech Marines alongside Captains. But there was no further granularity from there.
Now don’t get me wrong, this isn’t an argument against them. Certainly I wouldn’t say No.

Would have been cool if the recent Liber book had medic-like Commander upgrade options for units like terminators, assault marines, or veletari
Though looking at regular scale HH that's the kind of thing that a journal book could add

It’s definitely something that could be added.
In 2nd Ed, specialist characters tended to take up your…can’t recall the right term, but I think it was Special Cards?
Army Selection began with a Company Card. Which could have, I think and do correct me if I’m wrong, 5, perhaps 6 Support Cards, and a single Special Card.
Special Cards were your Chaplains, Medics, Techmarines*, but also Titans.
So such specialist characters, again if memory isn’t doing a wonk? Were fairly rare. I wasn’t a particularly sophisticated kid at the time so of course I’d plump for Titans pretty much everytime.
And I’ve entirely forgotten what I was wibbling about in the first case.

And mentioning Terminators some of the Legion type Terminators would be good to see

We actually got quite a few things this time:
Saturnine Heavy Assault Cadre:
Be careful here as the article says its 12x Saturnine Terminator bases, 2x Command bases and 4x Dreadnought bases per box but the later discount box says it includes 2x Heavy Assault Cadres and the image shows 12x Terminators, 4x Command bases and 8x Dreadnoughts. So the Heavy Assault Cadre should only contain 6x Terminator bases instead of 12x as written in the article.
Araknae Weapons Platforms with a new weapon: (8x per box)
The Saturnine battle group discount box:
Finally Legion Super Heavy Tanks
Falchion together with a new Ascalon:
Fellblade and Glaive:
And some more discount boxes and a new book:

Combined Arms set for the SA looks fun and well worth picking up for me!
Kinda jealous that the Space Marines got all the attention, but those are some awesome releases for them and I'm sorely tempted to get the flamer superheavy just to squeeze into a SA army as an allied unit in a small detachment.

Journals for LI? This gets worse and worse.. first they eliminate ebook rules and now they go Journal on the game. I was already out when they dropped the ebooks, but this is just a pisstake by now
I dont fancy Egginators in any scale, and these new group boxes arent anything too interesting either. Still too stingy on the special snowflake bases, I'd rather just stock up on the Astartes infantry box
This reveal really missed the mark on the LI dept IMO

I was honestly expecting a new boxed game with the hope that it would be a strong sign the game isn't going anywhere...
While the core rule book remains a heavy burden - not for me, personally - we did at least get the Saturnine content and the presence of journals is confidence enough the game is going into a new phase.
Legions Imperialis' future looks bright.

I don't play LI, but these look like a pretty nice bunch of new releases to me.
I'm waiting for the larger scale Falchion to come out. That thing looks awesome.

I also like the new models, although in retrospect it is not so surprising. I don't understand why they constantly announce new discount boxes for the game, though.

Saturnines and Super-heavies? Fantastic! And the Journal format expansions is a much better approach. More discount boxes is great, although like Mad Dok, I'm pretty well stocked up.

Increases accessibility.
A Combat Force and a Combined Arms Battle Group get you a pretty decent backbone for a Space Marine force. The Saturnine one adds further muscle.
From there, expanding the Infantry in particular becomes more reasonably priced.

Something I would like to see is letting the 40K crowd have their BFG and give us Adeptus Titanicus fans a new lease of life.
A few new titans, terrain and the remaining knights in plastic for Legions and we're a quiet bunch.

Excellent wave of new models and discount boxes here. I do wonder if they're trying to make LI more affordable in the face of two direct competitors springing up since launch.
