In one of the (many) Leviathan review videos I came across an image what should be the upcoming new Necron Combat Patrol:

This is from the section of the book which shows off all the Combat Patrols (surprise!) for each faction. We already knew Marines and Nids would get a new one, now we have the confirmation that Necrons get a replacement. From what I could tell all other Combat Patrols remain the same.

Apparently this might be a pic from inside the current codex as an example 500 pt force

Re-reading the OP, maybe not - unsure

It is indeed from the Leviathan rulebook, but apparently the same force is also featured in the 9th edition Necron codex. Not entirely sure about the latter though, as I do not have this codex.

That is a very nice Combat Patrol box.

I am surprised that the Deathguard one hasn't changed, as that has a named character in it.

The objective of the game is to win. The point of the game is to have fun. The two should never be confused.

Don’t recall the big cannon Walker being ETB? Has been years since I bought one though.

Think that was in the 9th starter box, so makes sense it being Easy to Build.

The Doomstalker is ETB like the Heavy Destroyer.

The one in Indomitus was a Canoptek Reanimator.

That was the Ressurection Stalker Thing.

Sod it, gonna look on GW’s website. Not that it matters in the grand scheme of things.

It is indeed push-fit, so easy to build. I stand corrected

Have just checked my 9th 'dex, can confirm it is the same Patrol, but with bigger picture and more explanation.

Observation - Canoptek Plasmacyte in the image, but not called out as a unit (with an A/B/C/D/E), as far as I can see - maybe just a token now?

That makes sense if it does replace the existing Combat Patrol. It would be much better for a standalone game of that sort than the existing one.

Interesting to see which one gets rules on the 20th though.

Lets see if the Death Guard one gets replaced in short order, since that's the other one that stands out as being an exceptionally bad fit for a pick-up and play game.

Versteckt in den Schatten deines Geistes.

Not only that, it contains 3 half-Marines due to the weirdness of the sprues. The Death Guard one has to go. I imagine the 1KSons one will change as well so that their Combat Patrol actually has some Rubrics in it.

But yeah, replacing the Necron one makes sense as Combat Patrol probably won't work quite so well when one faction just gets a jet!

Nice! This is much better than the current one (not sure how well a flier would work on that small or a board and in a 500 point game AND all the minis in the current one are pretty old). Seems like a really good one for someone brand new to the hobby to as you have ETB minis and Necrons paint up pretty well very quickly and easily.

Would make sense with how Grot assistants work and how attached Drones and GSC Familiars now work.

And cherubs for Sisters.

Unless you have the combat patrol as the pushfit Sisters don't include one...

OOoo... I like that. I like it even more because I have all of those models already.

I'm looking forward to seeing the others. I might have to buy the current Orks Combat Patrol box for fear they might change it. The current one is SOoo good.
