Third the scrap jet. It has rokkits, shootas and can melee reasonably well.

Not sure what the limits of "single vehicle" is for other armies though, a buggy might not be powerful enough.

7 Ork facts people always get wrong:
Ragnar did not win against Thrakka, but suffered two crushing defeats within a few days of each other.
A lasgun is powerful enough to sever an ork's appendage or head in a single, well aimed shot.
Orks meks have a better understanding of electrics and mechanics than most Tech Priests.
Orks actually do not think that purple makes them harder to see. The joke was made canon by Alex Stewart's Caphias Cain books.
Gharkull Blackfang did not even come close to killing the emperor.

Also leaning on Scrapjet.

As for the seed freaks list, the buggies are very likely distraction carnifex..

Also do remember that while buggies do suck individually, sheer numbers makes them an issue.

He also picked what looks to be the best buggies or at least the ones that provide the best selection. Having advance/fallback shoot and charge gives huge mobility. It's more a question of taking advantage of all that mobility, move block and saturate with bullets and charges to bog down opponent. It horde build but with vehicles in mind.

As for that convo about blood axe detach, i would say the detach gives a lot flexibility, it provides a tool's for all occasions, but it requires you to think carefully since everything feels like an important piece of the army. Notable mentions to:
-Flashgits for full rerolls
-tankbustas for +1 hit against everthing
-breakaboys +1S against elite infantary
-stealthy/cover hogs for one obscene distraction
-strats with react moves and sustain/lethals
-redeploy enhancement

biggest con is mobility and lack of redundancy in that detach, everything has a reason to exist and there is lack of mobility, so trucks and wagons are a must. Also no defensive tools except for stealth/cover, so anything with ignore modifiers and ignore cover like tau is a problem.

Thanks for the advice.

The Tanksgiving event is buy a new vehicle (or bring in an unbuilt one - I have zero right now).

Build it and paint it during November and play it in an all vehicle megabattle on November 29th.

Possibly win cool prizes (which I assume will go to whomever buys and builds something ridiculously big).

I on the other hand are strapped for cash and am attempting to be really cheap, while still having fun.

(Ooo... You brought a Sentinel... how exciting! )

I thought grabbing a 50 dollar buggy of ebay would work.

In Ork we trust, kit bashing will be your friend. Rather then buy the model, you can make it! It's a lot more effort, yes, but if your creative you can do a lot.

I'm lacking in Ork Bits.

When I moved south, 99% of all my stuff never made it.

Heck, I just got 9 miniatures in the mail that an old roommate of mine found in my old apartment.

The stuff that got packed was swallowed by a warp storm.

The 9 minis are 3 pewter obliterators, 3 old pewter/plastic 1k sons, Iron Hand Strakken, a female Commissar, an a Usbati from Warhammer Fantasy that I was converting to be a Tzeentch-thing.

Someday, I'll be able to build some propa ork stuff, but not today.

There are a metric ton of awesome 3d printed ork buggies out there. If you are strapped for cash, maybe pick up one of those?

Resin tends to be more of a hassle to work with than GW plastic, but for simple models like models tend to be it's rarely a big issue.

Wtf? Max of Smashagunz, max of Lootas, 3 x SAG, 70 Grots? This looks a lot like my list from the end of 8th! There is Ghazzy lf course with the big blob of Boyz and one squad of grots have a Zogrod. But the concept of a gunline screened by the grots is the same.

Just wondering how one would use Mek Gunz on those GW table layouts? Often you do not have lot of line of sight and even if you do you are very open and vulnerable. And the Mek Gunz are too slow and can't move through ruins so they stay mostly static and can't react to the enemy.
I tried using them but wasn't very sucessful....I don't know if there is something I am missing.

Answer is, depends on the table. Not all layouts are equal, some are more open then others. In m local we favor heavy terrain, there are some lines of fire even there. So how you use artillery depends on your deploy and your opponent. This is something that as you play, you will tend to look for in tables, avenues and points of interest for shooting or avoidance(melee armies).

In my experience, you should put them somewhere where they can fire on one or two objectives. If they never get to kill anything, they still had an impact on the game, as a disruption to your opponents plan.

Something I learned with my DG - if you put some big guns on one side, enemy infantry units will be on the other side. People would rather walk into a terminator unit that will butcher them than get shot by drones and defilers.

Agreed. Threatening objectives, which are often out in the open, with a reasonable amount of dakka is a good way of making your opponent sweat. Sometimes a dakka unit that never gets to shoot anything is worth far beyond what you've paid in points.

As far as damage goes; Rokkits, KMBs, Klaws and Flash Gits. Anything with halfway decent AP and damage, or drown them in massed choppas. Ork characters all do good damage, try to keep them alive so they can keep crushing marines.

Otherwise you need to either dance around them so they're out of charge range, or feed them cheap/expendable units so that you can counter charge. Grots, Storm Boys, Kommandos, empty Trukks, depleted units, etc.

Do not let them control the charge phase or they will wipe you off the board. If a unit has the potential to snowball in melee and wipe half your army, stay away from it and try to shoot it to death. Don't be baited into charging anything that puts you out of position or you'll be killed in the counter charge.

Otherwise you're looking at winning on points rather than winning fights. You aren't going to beat them in a straight fight, so you'll have to fight like a Blood Axe.

Step 1: don't play Combat Patrol.
Not all of the patrols are equal AND CP strips you of the option to bring any better choices.

Step 2: bring units better suited for cracking WE.

I don't usually agree with ccs, but I don't really see how the beastsnagga CP is supposed to defeat the WE patrol. You can try to snipe the demon prince with your squig boyz, but I have no idea how 20 beastsnaggas are supposed to outfight 20 khorne berzerkers.

Your only other option would be to go for the other combat patrol, at the very least it has some shooting options.

Steven Pampreen - notoriously known warboss scored with the War Horde and it is pretty interesting.

20 BS Boyz in Hunta Rig
20 Flashgitz in trukks I guess
3 Killrigs used like a tanks
9 Koptas in two squads

I don t see the big point why this should worl hrest, but it obviously somehow did…

Believe it or not, there's more to winning 40k games than just a list.
Such things include:
●Your skill
● your opponents skill. Or lack thereof...
● luck (non-dice related)
● luck (dice related)

No amount of skill can compensate for a non-functional list and luck won't win you a GT.

To me it looks like he went extremely light on characters to get a ton of vehicle-based shooting on the board.
He has a high unit count (16) and is very mobile, giving this list a lot of options in any game state.

Considering how Steven has been notorious for regularly winning tournaments with unorthodox lists for over a decade(!) now, I would assume that he created a list that allowed him to leverage his skill while also making it difficult for an opponent who has never faced this list to figure out what all his options are. It's probably not easy to learn to play this properly, and it properly would lose a bit of power once people learn to play against it.

Damn, my first post was wrong.. Pamreen list is not a war horde but the DA BIG HUNT!§ that was the reason I was so excited about it!

Automatically Appended Next Post:
It seems to be about the mobility.

By declareing the prey you get the charge reroll.
Every turn one of your units can advance and charge.
Opponents fall back gives you 6” reactive move.

And who play the army with no or low level of chars, veh and monsters in the same moment? Hmm?

And exactly like Jidmah said. Steve Pampreen is actualy one of the most interesting warbosses I know. If we look back in this and previous threads into my CI reports, we find a bunch of “wtf has he done?” lists…

So a dive into this could be interesting

Been doing some list-fiddling again. I've finally relented and dropped my beloved Squighogs down to minimum size. The list was great at swarming the midboard, but even after dropping the Trukks for Wagons I was bottle necking myself, and the Squighogs were a big factor in that due to their immense footprint. I've elected to replace them with units that can more effectively get to the enemy DZ. Losing out on some of the durability and damage of the Hogs is decently mitigated by the Wagons.

List in spoilers for anyone interested.

In my experience, two trukks and one BW usually fare better than two BW - especially since you also have a kill rig.

You'll have less issues with pathing through the board and you can be in more places when needed.

Personally I would also run Mozrog over a 'ere we go squigboss, but that's just my personal taste.

Other than that, looks like a fairly solid list, all the tools are there, little room for improvement.

Our fellow warboss here gives high level advice on things like deployment, movement, target priority and other topics. I learned things from every single one of his videos, so if you watch all his tactics videos I'm fairly sure that you will take away something to improve your game. Even if you don't, it has Kustom-Mega Zappa special effects and exploding gretchin.

I'll be honest, I completely glossed over Mozrog for some reason. I'll try out both and see which I prefer.

I'd go back to having another Trukk, but I just can't get through the traffic jam issues. I can't tell if I'm just playing on particularly terrain-heavy tables or if it's genuinely just a skill issue on my part

I honestly can't tell. My kill rig is a friggin' monster because I kind of overdid the kitbashing. It ended up being just slightly smaller than a gargantuan squiggoth.

It is literally impossible for it to not cause a traffic jam

Now that's a right proppy orky problem to have.

Have you given your Kill Rig a suitable name for how dummy thicc it is? Something like the Hallway Monitor of Mork, or perhaps the Roadblock of Gork?

It's called Da Kil Krusha Rig - due to it's size it doubles as a certain legend datasheet

Haha, I see what you did there. I do miss the old Forgeworld rules for the Kill Krusha and Kill Bursta tanks, as well as the Mega Dred and Meka Dred. I was lucky enough to use the Meka/Mega Dreaads back when Dred Mob was in its heyday with Imperial Armour 8, I'm hoping the rumoured refresh for Orks comes with either some form of Looted Tank or Grot Tanks, as right now our Ork army lineup really doesn't have a dedicated battle tank since the Battlewagon is more of an transport with some shooting tacked onto the side. Though Gork only knows if the shooting profile for whatever big gun we have is actually going to be above S9 for once.

Mine is made from the old FW Squiggoth, so it's not too far off of yours by the sound of things
