Well, with this, I think I'll be done with terrain for some time.
It's a fairly large piece at around 2 feet or 60 centimeters long.
It might look better with some grass tufs and gravel, but it needs to be stored with the four pieces nesting inside each other.
With the warmer weather, I'll be getting back to my other minis and vehicles.
So, those periwinkle tanks may be next.

Loving the ork stage, really nicely pulled together, that drummer is absolute brilliance. Like the scenic stuff too, the trees are a real different direction to usual stuff you see, thought you were working on a bonsai garden for a minute. Had visions of a meditating ork sat with crossed legs!

Tommygun1918,

I just went and purchased some of those trees you painted.

That hill looks pretty nice all painted up. I like that you went with red sandstone instead of the usual grey for the exposed rock.

Now showing various models from the previously adandoned projects!

Painting total as of 3429/2024: 56 plus a Deva King statue
Painting total as of 12/31/2024: 107 plus a set of modular spaceship terrain and two walkers and a quad mech and five giants

I really like them too.
The instructions don't state this, but most of the branches are interchangeable, so you can vary the look some.
You can even leave some branches off the trees.

Thank you, Just imagine Lee Van Cleef with Ennio Morricone music playing as he rides by that low bluff.

Right now I'm working on Father Paul and his new terminator communion suit.
Hopefully he'll be ready to Christen little Johnny this week.

Fantastic work on those trees, they’ll make for a nice bit of variety on the table

Thanks, you see a lot of destroyed cities in games or dead worlds, but not much else.

OK, Father Paul is now ready for Easter services again.
He would also like to reminded everyone not to use zeno eggs this year.
Father Paul does not want a repeat of last time and having to organize memorial services afterwards.

Lovely Chaplain Tommy, love the cape. Lots would have gone with a different colour, but that Black and Gold looks sick!

Thanks everyone.
OK, I finally got around to respray painting my tanks. I do generally keep my space marine vehicle pretty clean, so no weathering. I did use a gilders paste wax to highlight the anti-gravity plates and weapons. You just brush it on with a sponge. Very quick and easy. I used to use a very old Ral Partha version that work better, but I ran out a while ago and this is the closest I have found to it. It does leave silver dust all over which the Ral Partha version didn't and you have to seal it with some kind of varnish to keep it from rubbing off on your hands. I'll need to decide what vehicles to get next. I have two unmade Redemptors I'm thinking of getting some conversions so I can magnetize them and switch them between standard, Brutalis or Ballistus. So, that's all for now, thanks for stopping by.

They look good! Well done on powering through with the resprays- that must have been a drag.

Gilders paste wax? Interesting! If you use it again is there any chance you could post before and after photos? I have a lot of armour to do and it could be good…

This will give a good idea of what they do. Skip to the 2 minute mark and then to the 6 minute mark.

Oh, do you mean the meltas on the Lancer? Both tanks are magnetized, even some of the hatches can be replaced.
They're were just what I had on them when I took the pictures. I can also still turn the Lancer back into an Impulsor.

Filigree is Evil: said in the voice of the Grand Theogonist...

Boby G is in the house. It took forever to paint this tiny little man.
In retrospect his base is too busy. If I had to do it over, I think I would have made a custom base instead.
I have a question. I played around with the limited camera settings.
Which setting looks better, default settings or ISO:400 setting ?

First pic looks better IMHO. Not sure which is more color accurate to real life though.

I’ll agree that all the gold filigree was a massive PITA to paint. The base is also busy, but didn’t bother me too much, as I covered a chunk of it with snow.

My phone camera really desaturates my photo's colors while exaggerating the whites. It has four settings for ISO, 100, 200 default, 400 and 800. The white balance is also very limited options. I have a old Nikon, but it drains new batteries dry in just three week while turned off and then you have to go though the whole reprogramming start up each time I want to use it. Maybe I'll just draw pictures of my minis from now on.

Excellent. I want to see individual portraits of all your models like this.

Waaazag da Kan't Stoppable (ORKS) ~6,000 points
Orks-in-Progress, Finished Orks.
Terrain I'm making.
The Darion Sector War Campaign.
Into the Jaws of Hell 40k campaign.

I will keep that in mind, but until then more bad camera pictures.
This tech marine is painted in the same speed paint style as my previous tech marine, which I decided afterwards wasn't what I wanted, but I felt the two should match each other.
I have seven other marines primed up, so Calgar and Victrix is next, followed by blade guard and some dude carrying a dead guy on a very fancy stick.

Nice work on the tech. Much improved from your WIP picture. I’m having flashbacks to the old WD painting tutorials. Step one: prime. Step 2: basecoat. Step 3: Golden demon. Lot of work done between the pictures...
