As I'm slowly reading through warhammer vault I must say game/campaign books are even worse with the SM bolter porn than Black library.
I'd say some BL books and non imperial codizes are probably the only sources to put the imperial perspective and SM favoritism into question.

Yes, a genestealer can be killed by las bolts and bayonets. Yes some humans are more skilled or lucky than others. Yes some genestealers are less lucky than others. No it isn't diluting the grimdark or setting because they didn't kill all the humans all the time.

What you're talking about is a very common trope regarding "super aliens"(ie., aliens or similar beings that are in most or all ways superior to humans). Predator, Aliens, Klingons in most episodes, etc. These are races designed to lose to show that a common or well trained human can overcome these impossible odds.

The best part is that someone tested the mud thing from Predator and it absolutely works.
Until the mud dries out of course.

It was the Corridor Crew (Youtube link), a group of SFX artists that have their own Youtube channel.

Mangrove Mud also helps lessen the pain of jellyfish stings.

Trust me, I know.

Right?

I chalk it up to people who backed the PMRC just not being very bright.

RIP Ozzy; when I listen really hard, I swear sometimes I can hear the opening notes of the Ozzy Osbourne/ Randy Rhodes reunion tour.

Now that we have the points for the new UM units, how do people feel about them?

CP compared to others?

I'm waiting for the UM Deathstar of 8 Vexatrix, Calgary, and Sicarus. Yeah, it's about 30% of your army, but what fun it is.

Old Calgar - 200
6 man victrix - 210
New Cato. - 120

“Only” 530 points, so closer to a quarter. Plenty of points left for other fun things.

Looking at the rules, I noticed that the old gravis Calgar gets a 4+ FNP while he’s hanging with victrix HG. So he’ll keep that not just whole his sword and board buddies live, but until the whole squad gets axed.

I dont think the deathstar will be that big of a deal, instead I reckon people will end up running them similar to BT Sword Brethren - small punchy units in shooty transports. The BT have better damage output with all their stacked rules, but 4W, -1 to wound and a 2+ save will make the UM much tankier.

Could do a whole army of 4W marines between Company Heroes and Victrix (with cheap captains and -1 to wound) plus some Hammernators (with new Calgar).

I'm thinking Gravis Calgar and a Lieutenant joining 6 Victrix, and you can stick them all in a Land Raider.

No Lts unless they are specifically allowed. Victrix can be joined by captains and CMs that can join company hero squads.

Victrix can be joined by captains and CMs that can join company hero squads.

That's it. That's the limit of what can join them per their datasheet.

That seems odd, but it's good to know. I wouldn't have questioned them being there if I saw them across the table.

Thanks for the answer.

Not unless they get updated.

10th is pretty clear. Characters will tell you what units they can join. If it’s not on that list, it’s a no-go. Now if a new unit says “can be joined by anyone who could join XX” it would be one thing. But the Victrix says “can be joined by Cpt’s or CMs who could join company heroes”. That’s it. No lts, apths, libs, anyone else. Now there might be someone out there who can glom onto a HQ before joining the unit, but none come to mind.

Apothecary Rules:

Leader: This model can be attached to the following units:
■ Assault Intercessor Squad
■ Desolation Squad
■ Devastator Squad
■ Hellblaster Squad
■ Infernus Squad
■ Intercessor Squad
■ Sternguard Veteran Squad
■ Tactical Squad

You can attach this model to one of the above units even if one Captain, Chapter Master or Lieutenant model has already been attached to it. If you do, and that Bodyguard unit is destroyed, the Leader units attached to it become separate units, with their original Starting Strengths.

So, didn't know if the new squad was added to the list.

Can you?

Just a quick look on the app shows that as not possible.

The apoth can double up joining with a captain, for the squads he’s allowed to join. Which does not appear to include the heroes.

Which is BS, as they have historically been included in command squads.

RAW ar quick glance.

Yeah, I had to edit what I wrote, I was misremembering the rules.

Assault Terminators and Ancient finally hitting standalone kit prereleases next saturday. Please post the prices for next week when you get them?

Been waiting for both of these ever since we got the new Indomi Termies with Leviathan box. Hope the prices will be in line with other comparable kits

Hoping to be able to catch both from a discounter this time, since Crux Terminatus already had these models, so many people who were waiting on these already got theirs..

Not nearly as many as you'd think, given GW can't stop the scalpers and bots.
