I really enjoyed what is now I suppose the original run, so I’m optimistic.
That's really surprising esp as Malcom in the middle was one of those shows, at least in the UK, which was all over the place and then I don't think I've seen it since. Really interesting that they've got the original cast back though I don't know how its going to work if they are all adults and grown up - changes a lot of the dyna... oh wait its 2025 they'll do what all the 90-00s kids did - move back with their parents due to rent
Also 5 seconds of googling and apparently Scrubs is also slated for a reboot

Ok, that’s interesting. A little mini-series to explore a specific story is a much better way of doing a continuation/sequel to these old series than just making more and expecting it to be good. Can also serve as a back-door pilot for a new series if the chemistry is still there and they can come up with some good ideas.

A teaser for the James Gunn Superman movie is making the rounds. Hard to judge because its a preview of the teaser for the trailer, as the industry loves to do lately.
Looking forward to that flick, though I'm still salty about Cavill's departure.

In Saint Cavill's name, I am more than willing to have another Superman... because I couldn't imagine Henry Cavill having adventures with his dog Krypto (who will be featured In aspca or humane society... I can't remember which... advertising).

It's gonna be weird unless they drop a "the whole family is on a trip so I've got time" kinda line as to why none of them are in it (assuming they're not in it)

Not just a horror comedy about killer unicorns. A horror comedy about killer unicorns from A24 by one of the directors of Everything Everywhere All At Once and starring Paul Rudd, Jenna Ortega, Will Poulter, Téa Leoni, and Richard E. Grant. Heck yeah.
Yeah. But. Scheduled for release 7 November 2025, from the Director of Prey?
Predator, Badlands
I am very, very excite for that. Dan Trachtenberg did an absolutely phenomenal job with Prey, and given a big chunk of that was him understanding what makes the Predator creature work? I think we’ll see lightning strike twice.
Though, like Prey (though I didn’t actually try there, they just pretty much snuck it out with minimal fanfare) I think I’ll avoid trailers as much as possible.

I'm hoping that the next Karate Kid movie will be about a kid learning Capoeira and that every other film they change locations and characters learning a different martial art, but not Karate, while still always giving it the title of Karate Kid. Perhaps Karate Kid: DANCE! for Capoeira kid?

Looks like psychological horror mindf— film. I don’t want to spoil the trailer because I think it’s more effective watching it cold.
Dutchess
Looks like another competent yet formulaic action-revenge flick. The trailer itself begins with a record scratch “do you want to know how I got here? Well, we need to go back” cliche, which is kind of yikes in 2024.
I think I’m still most excited for the Paul Rudd vs Killer Unicorns movie.
Hilarious, I don't know how this man keeps getting new roles for him to bomb in.
Don't worry, soon it'll be his turn soon to formally debut in the MCU, I would love to see your reaction if he showed up as a main cast member in Avengers Doomsday xD

With the first Den of Thieves, I remember going in with "what's the worst that can happen" and being pleasantly surprised by it. Its a decent enough attempt at a Heat remake, without remaking Heat, with a touch of The Usual Suspects at the end. To be clear, its nowhere close to being as good as either of those classic movies, but it was a fun one and did decent at the box office for its budget. It was like if they made a movie about a GTA V mission. It was ridiculous, but enjoyable.
Not sure if lightning will strike twice as this looks a bit more "direct to TV sequel", but I'll probably check it out when its available.

Seems we’re getting a new Predator movie later this year, from the same Director as the excellent and outright franchise salvaging Prey.
Have you not seen Prey? Well get on it, it’s superb. And Alien Romulus whilst we’re at it.
I think for that one, I’ll try the Prey approach of not knowing anything about it until I can see it. Prey was such a bolt from the blue in even existing, let alone being that good pleased the cockles of my heart.

It's also streaming on Tubi, so it's free just as long as you don't mind commercials.

Also on Disney+ in the UK, which is nice. Alien Romulus, too.
I know I probably sound like a loony, but they really are great films. And both coming to the salvation of much abused franchises gives me renewed hope for the future. That if we are stuck with remakes and reboots and latter day sequels, we can at least be stuck with good remakes, reboots and latter day sequels.
