And I’ve spoke with the roofer, and looks like they can start the replacement on 25 August.

Which means the job should be done well before the crappy English winter kicks in.

Are winters bad in Northern France?

Here winter means no more shorts and it might get down to 54°.

Last few have been fairly mild, but they’re typically very much rain, rain and more rain.

With a 25 August start, it should be done by the start of September. Including new insulation stuff.

Anyways, that’s that all arranged with deposit paid.

For my own little win today, I found a chap selling David Eddings entire collection of works on a trading site, which I promptly snapped up. Not bad for $5 a book.

We finished putting up the walls in our shuttle bus to RV conversion. That sorts the floor and now the walls. Onto the ceiling next!

Thanks. Diet & Exercise are not my favorite words. I'm still trying to figure out when these so-called endorphins are supposed to kick in and make me enjoy biking up hills.

On another minor win, I have everything I need to play Kill Team... now I just have to put it together and paint it.

Been on the phone arranging transfer of broadband, energy and council tax to my new home.

For my next trick, the same with my water companies. And this time you goddam better believe I’ve getting a proper water meter installed.

Picking up the keys to my forever home in a couple of hours. Packers already blitzing through all my gubbins, whilst I studiously keep out of their way. And I’ve had my hair dyed.

My child is now officially moved in and at their University. I am officially an empty nester.

House Move Complete. Though do need to nip back for the Ethernet adaptor thingy.

Movers did a bang up job too, which helps.

All that remains now is to do All The Unpacking. Which is when we regret owning hundreds of books!

Unpack your kettle and tea/coffee first!

You'll be thankful you did when you're hours into your unpack and desperate for cup that you don't have to look for it.

That was the first thing I unpacked. I find a disorderly kitchen really quite annoying.

Also made use of the Dishwasher to nuke the mould off some pans, and get the glassware (which sadly had to sit outside of a cabinet in the flat) all sparkly clean.

Will need to get up early again tomorrow and do some unpacking. Got a big old fridge freezer being delivered, so need a comparatively clear deck.

Also need to look into Furniture Charity Shops. Got a bunch of stuff which has served its purpose and needs replacing. British Heart Foundation usually do collection as well, which helps.
