Offer in on a place, subject to survey.

Seller is yet to find their new place, so I’m not expecting a super swift process. And of course, my offer is yet to be accepted.

But as a Chain Free Cash Buyer, I’ve bells and whistles to offer.

Offer accepted!

It’s happening, it’s really, really happening. Or at least going in the right direction, innit.

Fairly sleepless night last night - after getting up for the toilet at around 4.30am I saw I had an email: "You've won a prize" from the National Lottery. Unfortunately you can't log in to see what you've won until the morning, the website is unavailable overnight while they run their overnight processing. So I was lying awake mentally spending the £140m jackpot for a couple of hours, as you do...

Also, slight aside on the home purchase thing?

I’ve felt a bit unpleasantly mercenary about the whole affair, given this is only happening because Dad died.

But I guess that as a culmination of his life’s efforts? Having both his sons safe and financially secure is…..pretty much what most parents want for their kids?

So Mission Accomplished!

Absolutely! I mean, where he's gone he can't take his stuff, so it's only right that his kids now have it. Enjoy it, Doc! It's awesome that you're getting yourself a nice home.

I ended up inheriting my grandfather's car a little over 2 years ago. I didn't have a car and could not afford to buy one myself, but then my grandfather passed away and my grandmother didn't need his car since she had her own already. I'm sad that it took the death of my grandfather to get me some wheels, but I'm also happy that it worked out for me. Kind of a "when life give you lemons, make lemonade" thing. But it mirrors your situation in a way. I know my grandpa would be happy to see me getting good use out of his car, and I'm sure your dad would be happy to see you using his money to improve your life.

My armies (re-counted and updated on 11/7/24, including modeled wargear options):

Associated Little Win? Home I’m buying is showing as “Sold, STC*” on the website. So it’s really starting to feel real now.

Was at my parents today and on a whim started thumbing through the "family collection" of CD's. Low and behold I start finding albums that I missed last time I raided the shelves, plus a few my Dad has added since then. I now have 34 albums (Plus a handful of random mixed CD's that my brother had kicking about, so who knows what gems they might have hidden on them) that I didn't have this morning currently getting ripped on to my PC for future listening.

My son, who has spent the last year recovering from a stroke that has seriously impeded the use of his left side, was keeping himself afloat at the hotel pool that my wife has the kids at. Kicking his left leg enough to move through the water. The left arm? Not so much, but the left leg is considerably improved.

Got clarification from my wife, and he apparently swam to the 4 foot end of the pool and climbed out on his own. She sent a video and it was moving to say the least.

Found out the GOG has Firewarrior on sale for $1.59, so promptly bought it. Then while checking my emails, found the GW had sent me a $25 voucher for buying something off their website a year ago.

Was adding my soulblight battletome to the AoS app and because I had to log into the pc version of the site to do that (its done via the website and websites on phones are too stupidly small..) I wound up looking at the warhammer+ page.

It was then that I realised - I've already got the vampire leader model reward for last years Warhammer+

So now I've got a new vampire leader sitting built on the desk that I didn't even realise I had.

Turned in my 'buy 9 coffees and get the 10th free' card at Greggs and the nice lady upgraded it to a large one and gave me a new card with two stamps on it

Left home this morning to go to work and found a crisp fiver just lying on the path in my front garden. Will obviously do my due diligence this evening and ask the wife and kids if they've lost it but otherwise ... proper little win!

I'm not sure that counts as a "little" win. Sounds like a BIG one to me!

I agree. Decent quality hand me downs genuinely help people.

Sadly, I’m one to wear my clothes to destruction, so I rarely have any to donate.

Just came back from the doctors. Feeling better. Blood pressure is now controlled and well within normal range, cholesterol is normal. Sodium and iron are a tad low, so looks like I'll be eating a extra medium, salty steak per week.
