The main build is almost done. Shoulder gun, rokkits and head are all that’s left. Then it’s on to add gubbins, greeblies and details.

On with his head! (Sort of) the main structure is there, but still need to add details. Going to put a boss “driver” in a cupola, maybe a Kapt’n standing behind the gob and then a squig “helping” the grot making on-the-fly repairs. Added some supa rokkits, too.

Love all the details, it’s really coming together! The expression is suitably irked too.

For the most part, I’ll be calling this build “finished”. I had to get it to the paint shed to get a basecoat of primer on it while the weather is cooperating. I’ll post pics of it later n a unifying grey color once it dries.

Not much of a progress update, but I really believe that a unifying color really brings the whole build together. Have started painting, no pics yet, using my airbrush. Hadn’t used it for anything remotely close to this size and I’m loving it.

For the most part, I’ve finished painting the main body. Still needs chipping and maybe a bit more weathering. I’ll probably add a few patches of orangish rust. I’m going to paint the head metallic (Leadbelcher) with a few colored panels. Next I’ll start weathering the tracks.

Thanks! Its not as clean as my older sculpts. I guess I’m out of practice. Here’s a crappy pic of him all painted up and in his spot ready to lead his Gargant into battle.

I’m slowly making progress on the paint job and weathering. I need to re-spray the main gun and then get that looking properly worn and dirty. I’ll post more pics after I get back from a little staycation this weekend.

Just when you think it can't get any better: along comes Kapt'n Krunch. Great little scuplt!

Here’s my first real attempt at scratch building with plasticard. I wanted a stompa for my army, but GW hadn’t come out with a model yet so I built my own. Not the best job weathering either, but I’m still relatively please with a very early attempt. Next is the GW model with some converting. I stepped my weathering up a notch, too. I’m particularly pleased with how the drops came out.

I like your scratch-built Stompa better. I just don't like the GW one at all.

Finished! (For the most part) I keep coming up with new ideas and more details I could add. I may never be completely finished, but here’s where we are with him. As with any build, there are a few things that could have gone better, but overall I’m happy with how it’s turned out. The Grot bar and the crane with cargo came out surprisingly well I think. And using my airbrush for most of the painting and weathering saved so much time and gave me some pretty good results. Enough blabbering. Pics.
