Feels like 70% of Hollywood movies tbh right now. Endless sequels trying to ape the original or do nostalgia bait call-backs. Haven't been to a movie theatre in pretty much a year because of amount of slop being shoved out.

Didn't hate it as much as I thought I would. More of a Lost World 2 from the looks of it (is it supposed to be the same island or another, another research island?). Looks like a much better concept for a film than the last 2. Still not going to expect much out of it.
Let's get the negativity out of the way immediately. I'm just a simple man trying to make my way in the universe watch a bunch of folks get eaten by dinosaurs. So far the trailer looks like it's about a small number of important people with not a whole lot of people-eating happening. I'll take another Jurassic Parkworld, sure, but I'll remain unconvinced that it'll match the quality of Jurassic Park and Jurassic World for now.
That said, so far the first of each batch of three movies was good and it only went downhill after. So here's hoping this one gets lucky, too.

Would be funny if it's not Isla Sorna. I don't know if Jurassic Park 2 and 3 mapped out the island and its installations well enough that you couldn't put another secret compound or two there where the, per the trailer, super extra dangerous dinos were held back. It's probably more plausible than a third island that nobody knew about until now.
Nehekhara lives! Sort of!
Why is the rum always gone?
Mixed feelings.
On the one hand I've yet to see a Jurassic Park movie I didn't enjoy.
On the other hand this is what, the third or fourth secret dino island Ingen had? It really feels like they're struggling to come up with a new story idea.

I’ve seen three or four Jurassic sequels, and they’ve all been bad. Instead of seeing this tired dinosaur movie, I’m going to watch the one where Paul Rudd and Jenny Ortega fight killer unicorns.

It's another island. There are five in the archipelago, and Ingen owned all of them, although the other three weren't previously fleshed out.
Isla Sorna was (as shown in movie #2) more of a nursery than a research facility. Looks like they're going with this new island (probably Isla Tocano) as the original research facility (containing early and often not entirely successful breeding attempts, which were left running around on the island), with everything moving to Isla Sorna once the science was a little more smoothed out.
Which possibly bends the history established in the other movies a little, but I don't think it directly contradicts anything any more than Lost World already did.
Oh, I'll watch damn near anything with the lovely ScarJo in it. This movie looks...interesting, but then so did some of the others that turned out to be kind of bad.

She's a massive fan of the franchise and has been trying to get a role in it for some time now. So, it's probably considerably sadder for you than it is for her.
I'd rather see actors taking roles they enjoy than taking them just for the paycheck or out of some misguided belief that cinema has to always be more than just 'entertainment'. If she's happy running around in the jungle shooting CGI dinosaurs, more power to her.

I mean, this is Dakka after all, people have their britches all stuffed up once people bring up the slightest standards when it comes to entertainment. "Don't ask questions, just consume product and then get excited for next product" sums up a lot of people in most of the Geek Media threads.

I do have one positive thing to note. There are no kids in the trailer. No kids means the dinosaurs can be really, REALLY scary again, and not watered down to spare the children.

Being a Harryhausen fan I absolutely love the JP films. And since Dina Meyer in Starship Troopers, I've always wanted to be rescued by a lady of action - Scarlet, you are most welcome!

But is there a stand in character for the writer’s ex girlfriend who gets killed in a ridiculously drawn out sequence?
