I'm going to assume this is the next iteration of the annual Pile of Shame thread. Not sure about the invitational part though?
My pile at the start of 2026:
WARHAMMER 40K:
Dark Angels: Lots of stuff, including a good chunk of the 10th edition starter. I'd love to at least make a dent in this, including finishing some of the partially painted models.
Imperial Knights: As of right now, I only have a Lancer that is unpainted and in subassemblies, an unbuilt Questoris still on sprues, and a probably recast resin Castigator (from before the plastic one existed). Not sure if or when I'll get around to these.
Leagues of Votann: I've got a lot unbuilt and even more built but unpainted, these will likely be worked on this year (not sure how soon but I want to work on them).
Astra Militarum: I still have a bunch of Wargames Atlantic Les Grognards unbuilt, and a few unbuilt vehicles, plus some built but unpainted models (a couple of tanks and some Bullgryn, plus more of the Grognards). Not sure if it'll get touched anytime soon.
WARHAMMER AGE OF SIGMAR:
Stormcast Eternals: Like my 40k Dark Angels, there's a lot of stuff that needs work, including the contents of both of the last two edition launch boxes.
Kruleboyz: Same story, lots of models that need paint.
Lumineth Realm-Lords: I don't have a full army of these yet, but nothing at all is fully painted. Was going to be my summer project last year but that didn't happen.
WARHAMMER THE OLD WORLD:
Tomb Kings: I've done some work on my Tomb Kings, but there's plenty more that need paint.
WARHAMMER THE HORUS HERESY:
All I have so far is the contents of the Saturnine box set. Not sure when or if I'll have time to paint them, but I got the box late last year at a big discount and couldn't say no.
NECROMUNDA:
A fairly large Orlock gang that all needs paint, and most of it hasn't even been put together yet. I even added the bikes and stuff from a GSC Combat Patrol to it so I could have a decent motor pool for Ash Wastes games.
MIDDLE-EARTH SBG:
Lots of models, including Lothlorien, Rohan and Minas Tirith for the good guys, as well as Mordor, Easterlings, and Moria for the evil side.
KICKSTARTER BOX GAMES:
Ankh: Gods of Egypt: Whole box game, none of it painted as yet.
Primal: The Awakening: Base game and all of its expansions, also unpainted.
Dune: War for Arrakis: Base game, Smugglers, and Spacing Guild expansions, all unpainted.
OTHER GAMES:
Aliens: Another Glorious Day in the Corps: I have the base game and all expansions, but the majority is unpainted or partially painted.
Guild Ball: I have five teams, including the two in the starter box. None painted.
Godtear: I have six heroes and their followers, started painting one group last year but lost my inspiration and left them unfinished.
Infinity: Small forces from a previous edition's starter set (Yu Jing and Haqqislam). Unlikely to get paint soon.
Clash of Steel: I have both starter boxes, most of it is unassembled.
I might be forgetting something, but this definitely shows that I don't have a pile so much as Mount Everest!
New purchases for 2026:

Gonna try and stick to it in the thread this year.
I bought 12 Battlemechs and 8 more tanks. I think I'm pretty much done with Battletech purchases for the forseeable future - I've got enough to do two forces for a decent sized game of Alpha Strike (8 mechs, 8 tanks and a bunch of infantry and battle armour each.
I'm still working on painting my Deadzone scenery, though free time is limited. Hopefully I can start knocking those net negatives down. Not quite sure how to count the terrain, I might make a separate category for it just to acknowledge it - I do a lot of terrain building and painting, sometimes more than I do army painting.

After working on it all month I got my Deadzone terrain finished. It's something like 50 panels with connectors, tiny ruined pieces, rubble piles and accessories like bins and ATMs and neon signs. I got it all painted up to a decent standard. It's quite a lot, but I decided that since it's a bit simpler to paint than a normal mini I'd just count it as 50 minis done.
Glad I held off on getting the Ruined City box I saw. Because I think this is enough for me, especially for now. I had the deadzone box + battlefield ruins which is enough to do a well filled Deadzone board or add a decent bit of terrain to a normal board.

Keeping the paintjob simple I've gotten all of my Mantic Enforcers done. Very happy with the speed - I've been sitting down every evening and doing a couple of hours of painting and it really adds up. I'm hoping to get my Forgefathers and Veermyn done next, and after that I'll have to choose whether I want to keep going on Mantic stuff, repaint some old Orks, or do some 40K or Battletech.
