What was moved to Legends?
Caiphas Cain's model is Legends. And people still don't seem to understand Legends just means "not for tournaments" and not "can not use ever".

Yeah. I don't understand why everybody immediately dismiss his models as soon as they get to Legends. heck, I'm going to run legends rules in my next game probably ( a battle Fortress or grot tanks )

A lot of local areas only play games following tournament rules, so for people in those areas, being Legends is automatically a non-starter.

Most pick up games, especially organized through discord, follow consistent rules, typically tournaments.
Legends might aswell not be a thing for how much it matters.
And no one wants to be the guy in the discord asking for legends game because they get turned down

This has been said so many times, legends are officially ok in pick up games. He state clearly they aren’t for tournaments, fine everywhere else. So if the people you play don’t use legends that’s their house rule and on them not anything to do with gw. It’s like complaining that they released 11th eduction rules but your area only plays 3rd edition.

Legends are even going on the app this editions. And all black library models are legends. So this is basically moaning that they have released a model with official rules for a new model for free, for use in all games but tournaments. But your mates won’t let you use it. Who’s at fault there?

1st up, not all BL models were legends - Valerian and Aleya plus Uriel Ventris are not legends (although Ventris has been unavailable to buy for about 5 minutes so we know where he's going on the next codex release).

Secondly, GW is at fault. You can't complain when they make a distinction between two things, and then people align with the distinction. Everyone I know is fine playing with legends, as they would rather play a game than turn one down. But they all don't like the low quality/not updated ever nature of legends, and they all tend to avoid buying anything legends related. I personally only buy models at risk of going to legends if I really like the model and am confident I'll get my moneys worth before it's rules go. I'm yet to meet a single person who defends things like the Kratos tank bait and switch.

Finally, a lot of players don't live in cities with multiple gaming clubs or FLGS on their doorstep. Travelling to events (always matched play all the time) makes up the majority of their games, legends may as well not exist to them.

That's somewhere between anecdotal evidence and an urban myth. Polls in various communities have shown that the overwhelming number of people have no issues with allowing legend rules as long as you have the model.

7 Ork facts people always get wrong:
Ragnar did not win against Thrakka, but suffered two crushing defeats within a few days of each other.
A lasgun is powerful enough to sever an ork's appendage or head in a single, well aimed shot.
Orks meks have a better understanding of electrics and mechanics than most Tech Priests.
Orks actually do not think that purple makes them harder to see. The joke was made canon by Alex Stewart's Caphias Cain books.
Gharkull Blackfang did not even come close to killing the emperor.
Orks can be corrupted by chaos, but few of them have any interest in what chaos offers.
Orks do not have the power of believe.

There's actually nothing in the core rules or the event pack about Legends datasheets that I can find. We all know what the conventions are (no balance updates, so not allowed for tournaments) but since there's no "mustering an army" section or "matched play" section in the rulebook who knows what might happen.

Muster rules are in the app now (along with a brief summary on the new MFM page), but they don't mention Legends.

I assume that the Legends restriction will eventually be added to the Event Companion documents, meaning that by default they are still allowed for other games.

I'm positive they will still be, yeah. I do personally share the concern in that back when I regularly played club games of 40k, most of the regulars were always practicing for their next event and wouldn't have necessarily wanted to play against Legends (although most of the really good ones wouldn't have cared at all, it was more about practicing *their* army than worrying too much about yours). So it is kind of limiting.
