Just got around to putting my choas army in the army profiles section, and since the many dakkites have inspired some of my recent works I thought I would share them here.

I have been using the same template for the warhound that many have been building from. I havnt been super careful to keep the lines and gaps the cleanest, but I plan on using tentacles and other chos bits to finish it off, so every imperfection is a reminder to put tentacles there or add an icon etc. Here is what I have done so far:



I also am building an Emperors Children Baneblade. I still have lots of chosifying to do with tentacles and other fun stuff. The white plasticard panels are for painting the half nekkid girls amidst tentacles that defines my army. The baneblade itself didn't have very many flat surfaces ... there are rivets and details everywhere! The little white box at the back with the chaos star has the organ piece from the exorcist tank and will have the sister playing the organ. I have her and the keyboard seperate right now for ease of painting later. Oh and the best part that isn't on there yet ... I plan to add the naked lady mudflaps on the back underneath the organ pipes.




Obliterators converted from spawn. Pics turned out fuzzy so I am going to take some more and upload later this week.


Converted Raptor squad. Again fuzzy pic ... sometimes my camera just doesnt want to play.


I also have a subjigator in the works, though it stray a little bit in design from the one pictured in the Apoc book. I had trouble re-creating those logs, so I gave up and made my own legs, then used defiler peices to make the upper body and claw arms. Pics when I get a chance.

Wow, I love the idea of converting SoBs to Chaos, must be possessed. As with your last post, looking great. Cameras can be a pain sometimes

I actually have an integrated chaos, sisters, grey knights and guard army all in this theme. Each army by itself is 2000-5000 pts before superheavys. So I can run sisters with guard regiments and it still looks cohesive, or guard with grey knights, or any other combo. I have about 8 rhino chassis tanks ... 5 of them can change to exorcists, immolators, whirlwinds, Predators etc. and one can become a vindicator with an add on to the top. Every turret, every terminator arm, etc is interchangable to make them appropriate for the army they are used in.

Oh, and the baneblade's turret and sponson guns are magnetic too, so it can become a hellhammer in 2.5 seconds. The oblits weapon arms are all magnetic so on the off chance I ever want to use a spwan, they have a regualr spawn arm to replace it.
Way more than you mentioned, but it reminded me. LOL.

Are you using the macro option of your camera? You will get some better pics with it.

Wow, so you can go from Chaos to Chaos Hunters anytime you want? That's awesome. If I knew what those tanks were I'm sure my 'that's awesome' opinion would still hold up. But really, that must have been some work, good on ya man, good. on. ya!

I was slightly rushed this morning when taking pics. I bet I forgot to use the macro setting. My last batch of photos turned out really well. No biggie. I will retake some better pics when I have the time and repost in the next day or so.

Awesome stuff, you've definitely got my attention

What's standing atop the baneblade? A statue of ... Athena? Comes to mind for some reason. Digging on the painted stuff, excellent work on the sisters in particular.

A little progress on the Warhound last night... Added the head and the plasma blastgun, and made a waist joint.

the pipes on the back of the baneblade end in this air...just looks kinda wierd to me

secondly very nice job on the warhound, and for the plasma gun i have an idea if you can follow me.

get a small piece of piping with ridges on it. probably bout a half inch diameter or so. cut it in half. place each half on each one of the sides of the gun. then place two pieces of plasticard in between and add some rivits.

@tylermenz: Thanks for pointing that out. I have built down from the back end so now there is a little box underneath with some pipes going in and out. Looks much better.

A few more pics of some of the stuff I'm working on, as well as some clearer pics of the raptors and oblits. I really liked making the oblits from the spawn models. They look much more menacing than the official models.

The raptors. There are two squads of them, one withwings and one being dragged down by tentacles. Both ar 8 "man" squads. The winged squad has a fist and a melta, the other has 2 meltas and a pw champ.







The shooting from the back rhino. This rhino doubles as a flashy rhino depicting a missle launcher being fired from the back and a vindicator. The crew compartment and doors come out and the vindicator top goes an.. All thats left to do is a few more greenstuf tentacles and the magnets to keep the top in place.






Zerkers! I think the regualr ones are a bit boring ... so I used the old chaos knights to make me some meaner looking ones. Plus the difference in armor helps diferentiate them from the noise marines and such.

Yes the Obliterators are quite crazy. Although some of the bitsmash looks a bit out of place the "Raptors" are realy cool as well.

I love the conversions. The color scheme makes me want to pull out my hair, though - I just can't reconcile those shades of pink and blue. As you've used it consistently through the army, though, I can't fault you for making a cohesive-looking force!

not sure about the spawn obliterators, but erything else is awesome. love the tanks!

I havn't been working too much on this army as everythign that I play with in most games is already painted. But I have made a few additions since the last time I posted. I have exploded vehicle templates (when you run 6 rhinos in one go, you can count on 3-5 of them being blow up in most games). Also pics of a chosen squad, made mostly from a dark angels veteran squad. I also put in pics of my converted Seekers of Slaanesh, made from Battle for skull pass goblin spiders plus demonettes to = Driders! I will use the regular seeker models as fiends. Obviously these are for a demon army, I have so much Slaanesh already that I only needed to buy a few models to run a demon army just for fun.

Thanks guys! Not doing much with this army right now though... AlIi B resurected the thread(Thanks for the compliment!) and I realized I had done a few things that hadn't gotten posted.

Right now I am working on my Tzeench Marines, but I will eventually get back to this army. If I can convince some of my local gamers to do some apoc. games then we might see some super heavy progress sooner though. Wanting to play with somehting always makes me find more time to paint it. Who knows, maybe the warhound will go to tzeentch instead of slaanesh.

those driders are just about the best thing to spawn from slaanesh since sliced bread! they are just amazing.

Hey Mephistoles I'm always down for some apoc! Plus seeing these pics gives me the urge to drop some warmachine time to finish up my own 40K pile of painting ad then it's gonna be a battle report for sure on dakka with pics and all!

Cool! Next time we run into each other we should talk about setting up a a game for January or February. That would give plenty of time for getting everything ready.

Bateman mentioned you were getting pretty good with your warmachine list, so if you are in on a saturday (job permitting, hopefully you got that promotion) and we can throw down!

Aw man, here i was really getting into the thread.... Dude, you gotta finish that baneblade! I'm loving the paint scheme on everything, the spawn oblits aren't really for me, and I'm super-digging the sob raptors. But seriously, the baneblade. The pipe organ. The maniacal glint in the eyes of the maestro as she plays Ludwig Van's Ode To Joy while crunching the bones of her foes under the super heavy treads of her blood-stained metal beast. YES!

Excellent! Well Lint you might just get your wish. I am always more motivated to paint something I am going to use.
