I have been dancing round with the idea of getting a dreadnought.
But know with the iron clad releash i been leading toward that.
so my question is is it worth around 45.00.

Also i was wondering with another dreadnought question.
Whats more useful on a dreadnought
lascannon or autocannon

All usefulness is relative. Water is great in a desert, but not if you are drowning.

Iron Clads are great in a list built around lots of heavy armor, or if you don't have enough CC support. Iron Clads are very tough to crack in CC for units not already equiped to deal with Landraiders.

Ironclads are also great bases for Chaos Dreadnoughts as they have both left and right manipulator arms.
