double strength, power weapon, strikes at initiative 1.

ex: Space Marine uses a Power Fist. Hios strength is normally 4, and his initiative is normally 4. However, with a power fist, his strength becomes 8 and his initiative 1. So he strikes last, but hits like a train.

Also NO additional attack for a 2nd ccw (unless this is also a PF - only marneus gets +1 attacks for PF in cc. )

Not true, many things in the Marine codex can buy two Pfists.

But he loses the +1 attack because of his power sword.

No he doesn't. He has two power fists and has the option to use the power sword.

You lose the extra attack because of having two special weapons, you have to choose whether or not to use the Two power fists or the power sword, in the BGB it states you lose the attack because you have to choose.

In case you're wondering...

He would want to use the power sword because then he would not take a hit to his initiative. Calgar is a pretty tough guy as it is, so you probably will not ever be too concerned about going last, but I suppose there could be an incident where it might be useful to get off a preemptive strike.

Only if he tries to attack with both a power fist and a power sword. If he goes with just the power fists he gains the extra attack. and how the hell can Assault Sergeants get 4 lightning claws? also would get get 2 extra attacks for that?

They can take 2 Dual Lightning Claws on a technicality. Yes, he SHOULD get 2 extra attacks, but I'd pay to see someone try to play it like that.

Page 42 BGB

Close Combat Weapons, section two different special Weapons

When it is their turn to attack, these models must choose which weapon to use that turn, but they never get the bonus attack for having two weapons (such is the penalty for wielding too many complex weapons).

Calgar has three special weapons, though you could say two as the Gauntlets of Ultramar are called a matched set. He has the two power fists, which he would get the bonus attack for if he did not have the third special weapon, the power sword. Sense he has to choose whether or not to use the two power fists or the power sword he loses the extra attack.

Same page.

Some models are equipped with two single-handed weapons they can use in close combat, with the rules given below for the different possible combinations.

Emphasis on "can use".

So Calgar first chooses which weapon combination he uses... if he chooses power fists, he then refers to "Two of the same special weapon". If he goes for power sword and powr fist, thhen (and only then) he has to choose which weapon will be used between the fist and the sword... it will likely be the sword, since if he wanted to use the fist, he'd use both.

In other words, he can use both fists, or the sword.

If people are going to quote rules make sure you quote the whole rule rather than just the part of it that suits your purpose.

The rule BrotherStynier quoted above only applies to models that have two different special weapons, not models that that 3 spcial weapons.

There is no rule in the BGB that covers fighting with 3 or more special weapons. As a result you have to work it out for yourself on a game-by-game basis or house rule it.

If people say categorically that he does or doesnt get a bonus attack they are wrong because the rules are lacking in that area.

If we were to play each other in a tournament, not only would I table you, I would murder you, your family, every woman you ever loved and burn down your house. I mean, what's the point in winning if you allow people that don't take the game seriously to live?

Why would three or more Special weapons be any different according to the rule from having two? You would still have to chose.

EDIT Also that is the entirety of the Two Special Weapons rule.

But he still has to choose whether or not too use the PFs or the power sword which would mean he cannot get the extra attack.

How do you hold a sword with a powerfist anyway?

And why would that increase your initiative? It's actually heavier to do it that way.

The Emperor doesn't seem to do much for you but you sure are expected to be mutilated, suffer, and die to make him happy. And is he dead or what? If he's entombed that would mean he's dead as a doornail, right? So, how can he be happy about anything you do, or even give orders to anyone? Are you worshipping the dead now? Is that something you'd really want to do? Because it sounds freaking creepy to me.

There is no sword on the model. Anyways it is really a lightning claw since he can reroll wounds. Get over yourself please and no we don't need Gwar.
