1). (not really a question) but i think they're are WAY to many things to do with space marines..gw should really try to make it all even
2). im currently trying to decide a new army..i've been collecting for a while and i have like hundreds of unpainted models..nothing can keep my interest, any ideas of a new army i should start and can tell me about the army..like for inpiration?? would be much appreciated (please no space marines...i don't want to become a marine player..they are to generic now)

will post pictures of the army i choose of the best answer, if anyone answers lol (:

Space Marines aren't that generic, I agree 40k is basically Space Marines: the game. But it was the Ultramarines that were generic, not it's heading to the Salamanders.

I guess if you wanted you could create your own chapter or something. As for me I'm moving on from my Space Marine army onto something better (Eldar, Orks and Witch Hunters, the last is going to be my new main)

What would be helpful would be to know what ones you already have, kind of a waste of time to recieve one of the armies that you've lost interest in as a sugestion.

Also how do you like the army shooty, assaulty or a mix.
My current suggestions would be Orks, Eldar, Witch Hunters, IG, Daemons or Tau.

Welcome to dak dak¡ Orks are definitely fun and not to hard to learn also are very competitive.

Space Marines are only as generic as the person using them. If you give your army a little thought, and try to give it some character, you will see rewarding results.

I agree with the post above.

Whilst GW certainly favour SM, it is diwn to you on how you want to paint them/convert them/what background you choose. Don't feel put off by the fact they are popular, some of the most unique armies i have seen have been SM.

However if they aren't your thing and like me yuo have a short attention span when it comes to getting a force painted, then go for an army where there are lots of different painting options. Orks (which I game with) are great because of the different clans colour schemes. Eldar are the same with the aspects and different craftworlds. Even Chaos can give you a varied pallete of colours if you go for a mixed force.

I'm judging by your name your only a chaos player atm?...just as I was

for your new army, is it that you don't like painting? ir is it because you get bored of painting the same thing over and over?

if you just plain don't like painting then (although they need an update) necrons are REALLY easy to get a basic paint job done quickly and with minimal effort.

if its wanting some variety in your painting, eldar are a good way forward, as all the diferent aspects are very different to paint. they are also a very rewarding army to play with once you've played with them a while. they were my 2nd army, I got them initially for painting really but after getting beaten ALOT whilst getting used to play with them you really appreciate it when you get to grips with them.

thirdly, you could jump on the tyranids-got-a-new-codex band waggon

Have you thought about Guard? There is plenty of scope for personalising your Regiment, check out the P&M Blogs section for examples.

What ho! First of all, respect for not wanting to collect Space Marines. As for collecting something else, I always go for the miniatures I like. You'll have more fun painting that way.

i have pretty much a little piece of everything, orks, chaos which im currently engaged in atm but im finding it hard to stay interested, space marines just dont suit me its all the same just different colors and ranges..thats how i see it anyway, i was thinking of nids but is paining a thousand models all the same worth it? then i figure eldar which i have couple painted and they were fun, i will post what i have painted so far and people can decide what they like, and id be looking for a more medium range to full on assult army..i prefure to be in the thick of battle not hiding on the back line thanks for all the feedback gave me alot to think about

yes i am a chaos player atm but im looking to expand and yea no sm i would want an army to crush marines haha just a sm thought a while ago lol
