Hi everyone! I'm still relatively new to the forum, although I've had my account for a while, but never properly introduced myself.

I have an extensive history in playing trading card games, especially the Japanese ones (Pokemon and Yu-gi-oh specifically). I have LOTS of cards, and a withering roster of pals to play with, and as time goes on, sometimes, after having built the deck months ago, the game can get pretty boring. I needed something with a little more ongoing customization to play, as I love playing games and just had a falling out with WoW as well. Past a little time playing console games, I was at a sort of standstill in my gaming. Then the summer happened.

Over the summer, after rehearsal for a show, some friends of mine were discussing WH40k and painting models in their game room. I asked about it, never having really been involved in table top games before but always been interested. They explained it to me, and although it sounded nice and all, at first I wasn't interested. Then they began to name off different factions and one in particular perked my ears: Chaos Marines! I was hooked from then to now!

Since I started my little army of Chaos Marines around the last half of the summer to now I've become much more interested in the game, which is part of why I joined dakkadakka in the first place! I would use the site as a resource for immediate questions, but then I figured out I had questions not yet answered more specific to my situations and new I'd have to make an account and start posting to get them answered, and answered they have been so far.

I have one problem with WH40k: the friends I know who play it live in North Texas, and I live in Central Texas, specifically the Austin area. Don't know anyone in the area that plays, nor which shops to look at to play at, but if anyone has any tips, I will gladly accept them and look into it for sure. Heck if you live in the area and know of shops to play at, maybe we could even meet up and discuss/play the game!
