Hi there Dakka,
I've been playing 40k (and Fantasy, plus tried a fair few others) for about 10 years now... and yet still I forget rules and pay no attention to tactics and just try to have random fun. I don't take the hobby deathly seriously but I do love my painting and sculpting. Used to love the 'Nids (my hive tyrant is still and forever 'my little monster') but after running into a hated foe in the Trygon (and having a major 'what colour to go for' problem) I went back to the army I've been waiting for years to see, Dark Eldar. I also love Sisters of Battle but that army is a long time away atm while I try to get an army finished for once!
I'm married to Morathi's Darkest Sin and it was his fault I got into gaming... I actually fell for "why don't you just try"

My wife's also just joined (but has yet to play her first game of 40k) and has fallen prey to my 'oh go on, I think you'll like it if you try it' routine. I'm very glad to see more ladies joining the hobby, as with roleplay and mmos, I think a mixed ratio of gamers adds to the variety.
