Mindless Spore Mine

Leicester, England

Hello everyone.

I've lurked around a few times but I thought it's finally time that I sign up and with that comes the obligatory introduction post.

I'm from near Leicester but not within a nice range of a GW or a FLGS which brings me to my next point.

I originally collected Tyranids back in around 2001, they were painted in a very awful manner and with the typical Kraken colour scheme. I never played a single proper game and eventually I lost interest. In January last year I walked into GW by chance and found out that the Tyranids had been re-released that exact month, coincidence or not, I used it as an excuse to get back into the hobby, adopting a new colour scheme for my Tyranids in the process.

Skip forward a few months and Fantasy 8th Ed came out and with it, I decided to expand a bit and started a Warriors of Chaos army, progress has been very slow with them though. (Afterwards I discovered that I was bought an old box of Warriors back in around 2001, I only found one body and the colour scheme consisted of red, nothing else, just Blood Red. Eww. Needless to say I went for a new colour scheme on that too.)

Fast forward to November and I visited a small event called Gamescon in Leicester, the biggest event there for me was playing a game of Warmachine. As you can guess, I ended up deciding to collect it, progress is even slower than the Warriors of Chaos but I am officially collecting a Protectorate of Menoth army.

Oh, and I'm also strongly considering yet another team. My Tyranid army is all good and fine but despite my dislike for Space Marines, I have a soft spot for Grey Knights, but it's not like they'll ever get a new release or anything... Oh wait....

Despite having three armies already, I've barely actually played any games, only around 3-4 W40k games, fighting the same person who owns Ultramarines. Fortunately I've won every game so far but who knows how long my beginner's luck will last.

That's all i can think to say right now, I've ever looking up rules and learning ways to play the game so I doubt I'll be anywhere near good any time soon.

My current project is making a new Lash Whip for a 2nd Ed Hive Tyrant I bought, to be honest it was my first time with green stuff and the whip looks a little tacky, but it will do. Oh, and on a final note, here's my Trygon and a Chaos Knight to show my colour schemes.

Although your beginners luck may run out eventually its not the winning at the end thats the fun part, its ripping his army to bits and having him remove models by the handful, if you can do this and win aswell, then thats just double the goodness hehe.

Somewhere close to 25'000pts
I lost count a few years back.

Heh that's alot of armies dude but I guess I can't say much. I've owned around 4 Warhammer 40k armies myself. Tyranids, Space Marines, Chaos, and now Eldar. Never more than two at a time though.

Anyways, good luck with all your projects dude and welcome to Dakka!
