Hey guys! Yet another new person on the forums here. I've been interested in war gaming for awhile now, got a nice sized marine army, some tyranids and some tau over the years as presents. Never really got much into the playing side of things and overall was really overwhelmed with the scale of the painting and modeling. Spent the holidays this year with the fiance's family in Europe, and while doing the obligatory sight seeing, she spotted a games workshop store, so we went in chatted around. Now she'd said she liked Wh40k before, her favorite army being the orks, but she really lit up in that store. She and I visited that store three times over our vacation, and I ended up buying the AoBR for her for a christmas present. With her working on her orks, having given me the marines as she has no interest in them, I figured it's time to dust off the Silver Paladins and start questing anew in honor of the Emperor and their primarch, Rogal Dorn.

I have played all of three games in the years I've had my existing army, of those three games two of them were with the same person who enjoyed 'tabling the noob' a lot. The other I remember was a good game, nice fella, taught me a bit about the game as I played it. Hoping we'll find people like that as we venture out to play in the near (god I hope...) future.

I'm sure you folks will be hearing me chime in on the tactics forum in the near future, as I really like the fluff of a 100% drop pod force even if I know it's a hit or miss force. What can I say, when playing the marines I figure go with the mindset, Go all out or stay in the Reclusium. As for my tau and tyranids, they're still very much a WIP, considering I have all of 4 fire warriors an ethereal and a crisis suit painted.

Anything else?.. well I suppose the following is a must.

For the Emperor!
Die Xenos/Heretic Scum!

Captain Avynn, Master of the Descent, Silver Paladins 2nd Company

PS: If you're out there babe, Waaaaagh Gobstoppa will meet it's end! Or your boys may end up with some metal eggs and armor plates for gubbinz.

Get out of those metal bawkses for the Emprah!

Very cool...wish my wife would slow down on her career sometimes so maybe she would become interested to. And your right, painting everything is a daunting task...more than GW leads on. If you look at my gallery you will see im not a man to be concerned with the fine details of the models, but having them completely painted (including bases) is important to me. Welcome to the Dak!
