My name is Peter, and I've just recently started getting into 40k. I've been interested in it for the longest, and up until a week ago I decided to buy some models of Chaos Space Marines and get into the game itself! Welcome. I would recommend beginning with the codex to the army you want to play. Read it before you make your decision on what to start collecting. Conventionally, most forces will have a foundation of 2 troop choices and 1 HQ. Usually I will start my army's with that and then another unit that I personally like or find interesting to paint. The codex will also engage your imagination and has a bunch of pictures and sample colors schemes to help you chose what color to paint them. Best of luck!
