Hi all,

I'm new to Dakka (well, forums in general) but not new to 40k, been playing many years and have played and collected Tau, Marine (Revilers), Tyranid and Orks but have recently bought, built and painted a Dark Eldar army following the release of the new codex. I've always liked the idea of them but thought the previous incarnation of models were really poor. With the new models now being released I've gone for them and am really pleased so far with the results. I'll put up some pictures for you guys to look at soon but for now wanted your help with the small matter of taking them to the field.

My first army (1,500pts) will be ready to roll out in a week or so and wanted any advice or tips anyone might have as to possible improvements or rookie mistakes I may be making.

My usual opponents play Chaos Marines whilst the other plays Orks (occasionally Eldar) and another couple of our friends join us occasionally play Imperial Guard and Dark Angels respectively. So my most common opponents will be Chaos Marines and Orks. My brother (Chaos) doesn't usually take much in the way of vehicles, usually a couple of Rhinos loaded with Beserkers with the odd Predator or Defiler in there. He nearly always takes 4 Havocs with Autocannon and a couple of Obliterators as well as his customary Daemon Prince.

My friend (Orks) usually takes just a single Trukk with 8 Nobs & Warboss in it (sometimes 2 units of 6 each with a Warboss). At least 60 boys (2 mobs of 30), 10 Lootas and 3 Killa Kans. He sometimes takes bikes and/or a few Deffkoptas.

Heres my list I plan to take for my first game:

Archon; Agoniser, Blast Pistol, Haywire Grenades, Combat Drugs and Shadow Field

Haemonculus; Liquifier Gun,

Haemonculus; Shattershard,

7 x Incubi
1 x Klaivex Bloodstone, Onslaught
Raider Flickerfield, Dark Lance

9 x Kabalite Warriors
1 x Sybarite Venom Blade
Raider Disintegrator Cannon

9 x Kabalite Warriors
1 x Sybarite Venom Blade

8 x Wyches 1 x Razorflails
1 x Hekatrix Agoniser
Raider Disintegrator Cannon

8 x Wyches 1 x Shardnet & Impaler
1 x Hekatrix Agoniser
Raider Disintegrator Cannon

5 x Reavers 1 x Heat Lance

Ravager 3 x Dark Lances


So there it is. The Archon will ride with the Shardnet Wyches whilst the 2 Haemonculus will ride with the Incubi and the othe Wych unit respectively.

Any thoughts or ideas would be appreciated.

dont know much (anything) about the DE, but post in the 40k Army lists section and you should, hopefully, get some helpful comments (unlike my, fairly useless one, sorry )

If I was you I'd try and work at least 1 more ravager in there somewhere. As Reiko said, post it up in the army list section and you'll get a more helpfull response!
