Hi, I've been lurking on this forum since i started 40k, and decided i should join at one point or another. So here I am, hoping to be able to share some ideas and/or opinions. 
I play guard, and am currently on 3k points with 2k fully painted and based.

That's quite a large army.
I'd suggest backing it up with a superheavy or a scratch built tank. Another suggestion: as you can see by my rank, i'm a devoted AA (adeptus arbites) player. I use space marines in arbite colours, and some guardsmen/enforcers patrol team packs in apocalypse. So, i'd suggest buying yourself a AA pack from the necromunda range.
